Quick Question for yourselves lads, now that the wages have been disclosed and they are miles apart, do you think you can compete with the amount of funding that's been provided by your board? Even if the ashley strip fiasco was to be resolved tomorrow there would still be a huge financial gap. reason i'm asking is that a lot of fans think that because your back that your going to be challenging, ( cups maybe not league imo) . i think that kings fed a lot of you a line and a lot bit the line. do you push the boat out and risk it again?, or do you bide your time, build your club up again and challenge yrs from now?, personally think king should get his wallet out.

Agree6 Disagree6

@bhoywonder - my personal opinion would be to build the quality of the team up over a couple of seasons.

Union Jack agree with you about building team but no gers manager will ever get time to build a team sadly.

15 Nov 2016 20:14:54
A quick fix is never the answer at any football club. As long as we improve every season that's all we can expect. Throwing money around that we don't have is pure mental. The few years under white and green have held us back massively. And now king is taking abuse for not spending money. Some people need to be just a little bit more patient.

I will always respect any gers fans opinion. Me personally I would like to give mw time to build a team but I see some fans that want the guy out after 12 games in spl. I would like to know if they got they're wish and mw was sacked how long would they give the next manager.

It's not the quality of player that is the number 1 frustration. We can all except that we are a wee bit behind and it will take time to get to where we want to be. However, in the meantime it would be nice to see a few wee encouraging signs.

What we're getting, and what I can't except, is a team totally devoid of ideas and a manager stubbornly sticking to a system even when it has failed against almost the entire spectrum of teams in the league.

I actually belive the current have a lot more potential but MW can't seem to unlock, and is even stifling, that potential with his system.

The last thing rangers should do is spend money we don't have, one thing I would say to bhoywonder is swings and roundabouts mate, it's going to take rangers a few years but we will get that league back, I just hope we do it by building and not a quick fix.

Believe we should continue process of building strong foundations for the long term. Currently in year 2 of a 5 year transforamation plan. Lots comment on the high revenue base of Celtic but they also have a massive cost base and make a modest profit. Lots of good work taking place off the park to remedy the problems of the past that we all know of. Need MW to prepare a team committed to deliver 2nd place and European football. Based on finance and infrastructure currently available that is achievable. We have no need to spend silly money that is not there.

cheers for the honest replies lads.

To build the right foundation you need a management team that can deliver on the park. We do not have that currently. It's not for the management team to lay those foundations either.

The board need to sort out the foundations, the finance and have a plan in how to do that and when to achieve it by. I don't see that at the moment either. Warburton and Weir will not be with us for the next 10 years, we need a system that can accommodate any management team. A youth system, a scouting system, marketing team, fundraiser, investment, merchandising.

A breakthrough is needed and it needs to happen very very quickly. Oh and we need a League that people enjoy watching. So not much then eh!

We are a decade away from anything worthwhile talking about. Scottish football is in the dark dark shadow that's cast by the EPL.

I think a few of us are reluctant to admit that the heart of our club is not beating as strong as we would have hoped for.

should continue building, but bhoywonder I have to say I think we aren't as far off as some celtic fans think yes we have had a woefull start to the season.
yes our manager is stubborn but things can change very quickly.
I think by the end of the season warbs will have everyone back on his side due to the players getting their fingers out as they are underperforming.
bhoywonder I have to say I think your team only has maybe 4 players in it that I would take at the moment.
but those 3 players u signed has made a big difference to your whole team. all we can hope is that we can turn our team around the way Brenda's signings did for yous.

16 Nov 2016 16:08:57
and money doesn't guarantee success .
although i'd rather have it that not have it.

16 Nov 2016 17:32:09
Only 4 players James. Are u kidding on? Surly u can't be serious .

16 Nov 2016 17:57:49
I think that most honest celtic and rangers fans did not expect what gap happened after 12 games. I am a football man and certainly did not expect celtic to be this far ahead of everyone else at this stage. Rodgers has done an amazing job compared to Delia last year and to be honest he has not broke the bank to do it. Rangers need investment to compete.

16 Nov 2016 18:07:18
I'm a big fan of mark warburton and in the majority of things he's trying to build and achieve at rangers. My only gripe with him is at times when making his usual 60minutes subs, he should tweak the system to try and get the positive result instead of just changing the personnel, especially our front 3 when he continually changes like for like!

16 Nov 2016 20:46:36
Celtic have a good signing policy tho, they seem to be able to see a bargain with good sell on value. Would any of our summer freebies (including compensation paid youngsters) fetch the £20m being touted for Dembelle? I don't think so.

17 Nov 2016 11:10:26
The gap is huge between us and them and I doubt any rangers player would get into their side. For someone to come on and say they would take only 4 players is laughable.
