Just a quick gauge of opinion here. Would it be beyond the realms of possibility to see Sir Walter back at the helm?

Agree1 Disagree20

Walter is gone for good, he's retired and another thing yes we all loved Walter but he had plenty of money to buy good players unlike warburton, how about getting behind warburton and give him time to build something good at the club, because that's what he's trying to do, but he's been very unlucky with his summer signings regarding injury and the Barton saga, but it's only my opinion and every fan has a right to voice theirs too.

I am behind warburton. But i'm not having this "unlucky with injuries" malarky, and certainly not with the barton episode. He signed off on these guys, knowing there history with injures etc. Ie crooks Rossiter windass kranjcar Barton. All signed and unfit to start the campaign.

Jesus Christ how old is Walter Smith? his football was rank and relied on individual players to win trophies, he doesn't have the likes of davis, mendes, ferguson, mcgregor, Hutton anymore.

11 Nov 2016 17:03:46
Agree cee I don't think sir Walter would do any better than Warburton with the players we have at this moment in time.

11 Nov 2016 17:12:13
Cee your comments his football was rotten got us trophies galore and a UEFA cup final. Perhaps you would prefer the utter dross we are watching at present? MW could not turn this around with 50 million
Simply out his depth. Unhappy players and a dressing room in revolt he, s doing a grand job
I would take Walter and Sir Alex team.

Nobodys talking about money or age. Its the mentality we need. A fighting spirit. A Rangers man. An ethos. Something we don't have at present.

11 Nov 2016 18:03:27
Agree lads he'd certainly make us harder to beat, can't believe some on here are happier having 60 % possesion than winning games.

Gents the felling is that MW has lost confidence of the team and the fans. I will support the manager 100% as long as he is in position but its clear as day he is struggling to get the best out of the team so if you examine why that is let's look at the facts. MW has arrived at Rangers from a very small English club won nothing, he has had the second highest spend in the SPL and we look like top 6 would be an achievement of current form. Style of play is alien to most of our squad, some mental passages of play because they are scared at times to play the long ball. Daft situations getting our self's into trouble because we are feart to play it long. Corners are a non event, Defending corners is a lottery. Have you seen the keeper take a high ball out the air. I get the feeling the players at the start thought all this monitoring of hydration rates and training methods would make them better players, so far we have not looked any better that some of the teams who don't undertake anything like this. The cup final against Hibbs we looked a mile off the pace for fitness, we were heavy legged from the first 10 minutes.

Guys just suppose MW experiment goes T1TS up where do we go from there. New manger and start again

DK needs to offer a substantial funding package and the fans also need to invest again. My concern would be MW judgment as so far the system and the players have not worked in the SPL.

we are not talking about a team that has scaled the heights and is on the wane, we are talking about the team that has just come up a division . We nearly disappeared because of a crazy financial model t, the players we have are just not the quality we once had but we need to take it slowly and keep an eye on the bottom line .

When Sir Walter was Scotland manager we were almost there. I'd love him to give it another go as he motivates players but, I can already hear the fans of other clubs going on about how he left to bail out RFC. Peter Lawwell wouldn't agree to it anyway so it's a no go.

12 Nov 2016 14:55:34
Couldn't go back to that football and wouldn't want him risking his legendary status. I imagine at 68 the job would be too much hassle.

12 Nov 2016 15:05:28
Yes bryan 1978,i don't think there's any chance that sir walter will be back as our manager. I truly hope not but i think derek mcinnes will be the next rangers manager, how soon, i honestly don't know. I do know a few of our directors rate mcinnes very highly. I also know for a fact that both walter smith and sir alex ferguson rate derek mcinnes highly and walter has actually tipped mcinnes, to be a future glasgow rangers manager!

Totally with delboy9 on this. Couldn't have put it better myself. Nothing more to add!

14 Nov 2016 13:29:23
ballocks saying walter wasn't a great manager and it was all down to individual players. then u go on to name quite a few that played in the same side lol plus walter took us to Manchester don't forget that.
people argued with his tactics but they worked up until the final obviously. but naw he wouldn't come back and i want everyone to support the man in charge at the moment.
