Why is everyone making an issue about changing the captain as if it will improve the squad just because wallace has the arm band doesn't mean that players are going to under perform its only in britain that the captaincy is seemed as important when in reality in modern day football it means nothing on the pitch european sides/ managers give no relavance tonthe arm band.

Agree1 Disagree1

I always worried about Wallace as a captain, he's not a leader. Would it make any difference changing Captain though? Very doubtful. The main issue is that he isn't up to the job of LB either! He seems to have lost any pace, confidence and focus he had before this season!

Certainly needs to rediscover his form may that be benched or a knew link up partner at LW but regarding the captaincy don't think it matters who has it certainly not this day and age.

Guys on slagging King of for not getting money out?
If it wasn't for him and bears our club would be out of business and I don't see any money men coming in soon🤔🤔.

I fundamentally disagree with the view that who is captain doesn't matter. That is only the case when you have a team of leaders like we had under Souness and Smith, and even then it could be argued that we had exceptional leaders as we had with Butcher and Gough.

At the present time we desperately need a leader on the park. We need someone that can lead by example, that gives that extra 10% and presses those around him to do the same. We saw it with Brown, (sadly), when it was nil, nil. He was driving forward and getting stuck in, Wallace on the other hand was like the invisible man. He deserves respect for staying with the club when others left but that does not make him a leader and perhaps the additional weight on his shoulders is adversely affecting his game. I say this because he is struggling defensively at present although the fact that he has McKay in front of him certainly does not help since he doesn't even track back effectively.

Lately, King should have kept his mouth shut if he had no intention of investing proper funds to put a decent team on the park. He gave the support false hope with his Murrayesque comments and there is nothing worse than unfulfilled promises. He would have been better off keeping his mouth shut, at least until he saw where the current squad were heading.
