If it were anyone else other than the other side that beat us 1-0 in a League Cup SF there'd be no where near the hysterics that are going on now.

Had we got Aberdeen in the SF and been outplayed like we were against Celtic and beaten 1-0 there'd be no where near the reaction there is now.

If we were outplayed by the team that finished second last season then there is reason to worry but we weren't. We outplayed them at Pittodrie and lost to a criminal free kick decision.

Celtic have had time to build on the squad they had when we were demoted, whilst playing in Europe. We've had time to build from nothing in the Scottish lower leagues. Warburton is a breath of fresh air. Let's not pollute that air by bringing in McLeish or McCiness or any of the other saviors that are being mentioned.

Think there would have been.

I agree, yes big eck and sir walter are/ were quality, but just remember they had money to spend on players, if you gave warbs the same kind of funding they both had i guaruntee we would have some team right now, players with ability etc to fit in with the playing style, i just wish king would even just hand over some decent money, and no i don't want debt etc but some kind of some that gives warbs a bit of choice in who he can sign.

25 Oct 2016 17:51:27
Can you explain exactly what Warburton has done?

25 Oct 2016 17:30:17
If we played like we did at pittodrie i'd be a happy bear but we didn't we couldn't string two passes together and we were dying on our feet from 50 min mark! i'm not overreacting and calling for heads to roll but the points that I made are the most basic of footballing attributes and warburton has to address this, the buck stops with him! Maybe he has to look at his coaches as we seem to be well of the pace and were still struggling with constant injury problems!

Daz, he's wasted millions this year, we've spent almost as much on transfer fees as celtic this summer that's a fact mate! And thorn a breath of fresh air how did u work that out were terrible to watch this season there's been no improvement this year if u think there has been can u explain your reasoning?

25 Oct 2016 19:04:02
I wouldn't trust Warburton with a transfer war chest as his big signings have been poor.

25 Oct 2016 20:14:28
See out of all warburton's big signings as you put it not working out 'thus far', when we signed these players the majority of supporters on here were raving about them and really happy we had signed them. Hindsight is a wonderful thing and any transfer in any football walk of life is a gamble. Manager's all over get signings right and signings wrong, 'FACT'!

25 Oct 2016 20:37:25
Some people were raving about them but just because the majority rated them, does not make the majority correct. This is known as argumentum ad populum.

Anyway, at the time we signed Garner, I pointed out that his goal scoring record was terrible in the Championship and for that reason I was not that excited about him.

With regards MOH I knew he was a terrible footballer and not suited to Rangers style of play. He has poor ball retention, poor passing, mediocre finishing and poor control. The only attribute he has that I like is pace but this is not enough for me.

I have said that I felt it was a mistake not to sign players with Scottish Premiership experience. I thought it was a no brainier to get players in who had played in the league. Players like Stewart, Hemmings and Murray Davidson should have been signed instead of the Garners and the injury prone Rossiter. Stewart and Hemmings would have cost less than Garner and we would have gotten to proven Premiership players. Also thought it was a mistake not to try and get a goal scorer instead he has 4 strikers who don't score a lot of goals.

We went down that road with guys like daly, black, sandaza, law, templeton etc and they were all hopeless.

26 Oct 2016 08:49:27
Bluedie

Daly and Black were done when we bought them. Sandals and Law weren't players that did that well in the Premiership and Templeton was injury prone. Are you seriously telling me that they were all better players than Stewart, Hemings and Davidson? These are all players who excelled in the top league.

26 Oct 2016 14:27:22
Biffo, dean sheils was shortlisted for player of the year before he came to us and sandaza was scoring goals at st Johnstone. haven't heard much abt hemmings and stewart since they left and anyways playing for a provincional club then coming to Ibrox is to big a jump for some spl players and hemmings was here before and was hopeless.

26 Oct 2016 14:30:17
U say black and daly were done? Black was a scottish cup winner and daly was a ball hair away from a hat trick against that mob in the semis of the scottish cup and temp had just scored at anfield so they wer hardly finished mate just not good enuf to make the transition to a massive club.
