With Barton been told his ban is now for a further week, I think that tells us he's kicked his last ball for us now . What a shambles.

So far for me the recruitment we were all raving about is turning out to be our weakest link! Barton, Hill, quickly followed up by Warburton himself, although he admitted to making a mistake leaving out Halliday recently. Perhaps he is capable of learning afterall. I really hope so.

Shambles alright. 2million to get rid of him we havnt got 2 pound.

09 Oct 2016 14:54:25
It's not even been ten games in and were saying the recruitment is "our weakest link" and a "shambles"?

Would you say players like Rossiter, Dodoo, Windass, Crooks, Hodson, Kranjcar, Hill, Garner and even Senderos, haven't added significant strength and depth to the team.

Have seen something from each of the players mentioned that shows ability and each one brings us something the squad didn't have last season. That's all you can really ask new signings after a few games.

One signing that ticked most of the boxes when it was made, doesn't mean the summer recruitment was anything other than sufficient for this league.

Exactly Thom. My thoughts exactly.

Don't shoot the messenger here but here is the story doing the rounds. Joey Barton was signed by Dave King to boost season tickets. He was not in Warburtons plans at all but was told to play him. Now that season tickets have been sold, do we or can we afford Joey Barton? His job is done now at Rangers while they seek a way out for him. Give it some thought before you agree or disagree.

Thorn, while I agree with you too an extent as the potential is certainly there, windlass dodoo n rossiter have hardly played n crooks has had 20 mins a lot to prove before they can be classed as successful signings, wish windass could stay fit tho as I think he could be a wee gem.

09 Oct 2016 18:35:42
Didn't say they were successful signings yet though mate.

TBH it would be surprising to see all or even a couple of the young players stay injury free for the majority of the season, which gives them a decent run of games.

Having said that, Dodoo has shown real class even just coming of the bench in games. Windass has been a real spark in the team and hope he starts at Inverness. When Liverpool don't want to see a young player leave, you can tell they have something about them, all be it, along with the injuries. Rossiter is a star in the making.

Heard that it was davie weir who pushed for barton cause we knocked him back ( thought that he would be spurred on by that) . thing is lads if he had knuckled down, played football and left his BS and tantrums at the door he couldve been a cracking player for yourselves, PS its wallace and halliday that's said if he comes back they will be leaving.

09 Oct 2016 20:22:03
I can assure you wallace and halliday have not said that.

09 Oct 2016 21:01:11
Fair enough Cee, i'm just passing on what i was told by the same guy that told me he was signing for you b4 it hit the press. Apparently hallidays been in tears a few times over all this.

09 Oct 2016 21:42:07
Hallidays waited his whole life to play for Rangers so i doubt that wee scouse numpty would make him leave.

09 Oct 2016 22:59:37
We are wide open to a constructive dismissal claim. Wide open.

09 Oct 2016 21:36:27
Gor , we never needed any big signings just to sell season tickets, the crowds show my point, our first season back in the top league would have drove the numbers us, even in the s.t. were 50 pound deerer we would still have bought them, the top brass tried to finish us completlly, and good bluenoses would buy them, just to let them know we will not go down without a fight.

10 Oct 2016 07:18:11
fair enough bhoy wonder but it's not they 2, If you had said any other names I couldn't be sure but they 2 are a no lol. Lee wallace will have to be dragged out of ibrox kicking and screaming from what I know of him.

dishco,

I can assure you we are not open to a constructive dismissal case. We may be open to a wrongful dismissal case at some time but I doubt that also, assuming our club have even a basic employment law advisor. In answer to another post I think he will be on full wages at least for the initial ban.

It all depends on what he was told when suspended ie three weeks suspended and we will discuss it then. Barton could then be dismissed on a number of grounds;

Gambling - even though we have not dismissed previous gamblers, the club may decide the crime is worse than before and deserved a harder hit for the good of the game–we would need to sack all future gamblers,

Gross misconduct - I would love to see a footballers contract but I have to believe these points are addressed.

Complaint by sponsors - Maybe SD are so offended by bad behaviour they have a clause inserted in a players contract regarding acceptable behaviour.
