Barton suspended for another 3 weeks. Can't help but think this is it for him, especially as I expect our form to improve over that period and it will become obvious he isn't required! I think a mountains been made out of a molehill but if rumours that the players don't like him are true then we can't afford more issues or risk MW losing the dressing room!

Sounds about the right punishment for me albeit he'll be quite happy with the extra time to promote his book which I have no intention of ever reading.

Right punishment?! More like a complete joke.

The club have handled this terribly.

The scapegoating of Barton by the club and fans is pathetic.

The line in the Rangers statement "Neither party will make any further statement or comment on this issue. " sounds like a threat to Barton. Wonder if he'll be able to keep quiet for the 3 weeks.

On another note, Barton is unfit as it is so I can't imagine how 3 weeks off would be a good thing as he'll just come back worse. Saw someone mention he should train with the juniors which I agree with to an extent and then remember Joey's history with youth players and cigars.

I don't believe thie incident was all Bartons fault but difference is he should stay off radio and Twitter shouting his mouth off. he fired up brown before Celtic game and it came back to bite him. do your talking on pitch from now on if you get the chance.

It (mostly) takes two to argue or in this case three- Barton, halliday and Warburton.

Apparently two of them are absolutely completely blameless and it's all Bartons fault- get real.

Public scapegoating is an attempt to get Barton to agree to contract termination- absolutely shameful and pathetic behaviour by a manager out his depth.

Totally agree 👍 Smith sourness or even mcleish would never have handled it like that it would have been dealt with the n then ( by a slap if it was sourness or Smith) I just don't like that one guy has been made scapegoat for it all especially by a boss who seems to take no responsibility for anything.

Doesn't matter who's fault it is they didn't go social media radio shouting their mouths off Barton did. couldve sorted itout between themselves.

The question for me is who leaked it to the press in the first place, Rangers and their PR team have previous for this so I am not jumping down Barton's throat irrespective of the fact that he should not have gone on Social Media. Sadly, no one comes out of this with any credit.

Should he have been brought in, very debatable and not needed given the arrival of Crooks and Rossiter, or was it a case of King wanting a couple of Marquee signings on the cheap! A big mistake if that was the case!
