Rangers banter 45764

I find it a strange decision to ban Barton for another 3 weeks, truly baffling.

Granted, I nor anyone else know exactly what went on in the training ground, or again today at the stadium, however, to have your highest earner and biggest profile player kicking his heels at home instead of say sending him to train with the unders just beggars belief.
It further compounds my thoughts that the management is not handling the pressure of the situation well at all. There was no need for this to become public knowledge in the first place.

We are fast becoming a shambles again (I use the term shambles loosely of course after the previous custodians) . We are indecisive on and off the park at the best of times, let alone with this now heaped on top. I am fast losing patience with the approach (or lack of it) to the tactics and tempo of the team, the transfers and the wasting of transfer fees - Garner and MOH (not slating the players, just don't fit our system)
Things need to change, Warbs needs to change.

How the hell does Garner nor MOH suit our system? I've liked Garner so far, yeah sure hasn't scored but he has done rather well. MOH I have no idea how he doesn't start more often.

TBB - I agree, for over a year now we have listened to the same mantra. We are learning, we will get better. By now I would have thought we would at least be on a par or better than most teams in the SPL. WE ARE NOT, and no amount of blue tinted glasses will cover it up. Next 2 games will be interesting. We've struggled and QOS regularly over the past 2 seasons. Aberdeen quite frankly will steam roller us as the are very physical and won't sit back and watch passing the ball to no effect 30 yards out.
Head back under the covers time I think.

MOH is a pace player, he hasn't got a killer touch or dribbling ability - he needs exactly what St Johnstone provided, balls to run on to.

Garner is not a drop deep and link up kind of player, he is edge of the box/ in the box, physical and wiry - he needs balls into the box and balls over the top (like MOH)

I like both of these players but when you consider the outlay for them, to then not play a style or tempo that attracts the best of their qualities, I find that strange.

Again this is just the transfer fees that I am poking my issue at, not the players themselves.

Surely once was enough.

MOH is crap. He can't score, he can't pass and he can't cross. Has done nothing since we signed him either in championship or now in spl. There is a very good reason he doesn't play- because he has done nothing when he Has.

Garner was a panic signing. No doubt he was a key player for Preston but he is exactly the kind of player that we don't need- a workhorse.

I think you are completely wrong about MOH, he can dribble and he has pace to burn, give him the ball on the wing and he will take it past anyone you put there. Garner I think suits our system perfectly, it's just unfortunate that we have 1 or 2 greedy players in our side. Windass should have passed him the ball when he took it past the goalkeeper. Waghorn should have swung it to the back post instead of shooting. better decision making by the players will make plenty of goals for Garner.

Onlyshow. Garner hasn't scored? Apart from the goal against Celtic you mean?

19 Sep 2016 12:22:05
O'Halloran has pace to burn but Warburton has not figured out how to use it - 3 starts for Rangers in total - The only guy in the squad who has proven himself as a successful SPFL player, a guy Warburton pursued for weeks! He's too direct for Warburton's now pedestrian build up. Our game has become all about possession with no end product.

Albertz, I completely forgot about that goal, and that game.

19 Sep 2016 13:14:48
Ohalloran isn't a winger, nowhere near it in fact, that said, neither was Lovenkrands and arguably we got best from him playing him through the middle, but as mentioned above, Warbs won't do that - or change to a style suitable of getting the best out of his players.

I think garner will be a great player for us when he settles into the team, where as MOH has got the pace but that's about it his passing and crossing of the ball is horrendous, I really can't understand why Warburton pursued him and he can't even get a game,
