After the Barton story broke my initial reaction was to get him to f**k. However, after reading his apology I'm thinking it may be a good thing in the long run.

The guy is hurting, just like all of us, and it's encouraging to hear him say he wants to improve his performances. He obviously realises he hasn't been good enough so far.

Hopefully this will be the kick up the arse the team needs and we can effectively start our season from here.

Be interesting to see if more comes out about the story though.

Barton will be back in England by January.

He ruins the team dynamic, it was all about high tempo pressing game, we are yet to see it this season. If he stays, he should be dropped for poor performances. If he is finished, so be it, hasn't impressed at all.

I was ready to say get rid of Barton aswell but after reading his apology I stopped myself from writing a long winded statement about getting rid of him, imo I think that Barton needs a boot up the arse but I think he will be back and he will come good for us 🔴⚪️🔵.

think barton is a good player not playing at his best but has been overated by some people he should be the best midfield player in Scotland but isn't even best in our team!

I hope that he gets dropped and has to prove himself in training before getting a game because I think he thought he would be the best up here and that simply isn't the case.

niko is a quality player but isn't quick enough for our game and should be used as a sub bout the 70 min mark when teams are tired.

Barton is a winner and vented his anger at various things said that I guess will the truth will only be known to those present. His choice of words could have possibly been more refined how ever if we had 11 winners in our team like him then we maybe in a different position. He just needs to up his performances now to match the hype he brought with him.

Barton doesn't linger on the ball and moves it forward more often than not. Maybe he just told a few home truths needing said and which a number of us have remarked on here. Plug the gaping hole at no.4 and give the team a fighting chance. Warburton can say all he likes about how we defend as a team and no one person can be singled out but that's highly debatable.

Hopefully we can punt him during January.

Never wanted him near the club, said so on here a couple of times when he signed and got mostly pelters.

Anyone surprised at the bust-up really needs a wake-up call.

Finally, did anyone see that picture on Saturday of Brown shaking hands with him. Broon does his usual psycho stare and Barton couldn't even look him in the eye. Body language said everything.

Don't like what I know of Barton as a man. Was willing to put this to one side if he could do it on the park-he hasn't. Now we have strife in the dressing room although that might not
be just his fault. Must have had a right go at MW to get sent off site. Following his public apology it looks like he wants to stay. If I were MW I would tell him he can return on the following strict conditions.
1)He sits down with his team mates, talks things through constructively, apologises in person to whoever he needs to particularly the manager and promises no repeat.
2)He accepts he will not be our first choice defensive mid (or anywhere else) unless/ until he shows he should be or we have no other choice (injury, suspension, loss of form by Rossi ter, Crooks.
3)He will make no further comments about the Scottish game in the media or social media except his obligations to undertake club press conferences and when he does those he should talk of other clubs and their players respectfully whatever his private vieW's
Those sound like reasonable requests for a Rangers player and if he wants to stay and fight for his place then OK we start again with a clean slate. If not that's OK too. He can start talking to his agent, arrange getting out of his contract in a way that benefits the club (and him to an extent him I suppose) and do one ASAP. I . Maybe MW could say to Sean Dyche-it was sale or return, wasn't it? .
