Morning bears,
I was talking to some of my mate, s who are Celtic fans and they were saying that they think warburton has underestimated the spl, which got me thinking about that, now personally I don't think that's the case, I think he's working with a limited budget and he's signed players that he knows and trusts, what do other fans think about that one?

Agree4 Disagree2

Yes he's working on a budget but as fans there needs to come a point were warburton needs to be questioned on his ability to change tactics if things are not working he seems stubborn in sticking with 4.3.3 which teams are getting wise to . we keep possesion well during games but don't do much with it . lack of players in the box hurts us in games and me personally i would always go with a strike partnership upfront instead of 1 up.

Its so very early yet. I'd be concerned if we were mid table or lower, but we're second and unbeaten. We have so many new players it will take time but they will start to click soon enough.

The guy isn't stupid, he knows what is required. look at it this way, in our first 4 games we have won 2 drawn 2, that isn't bad at all considering that we haven't came out of 1st gear yet. once the team has gelled and is playing well we will be in a better place. We know we can play well with our current available team, it's just letting the new faces bed in. let's judge Warbs at January or in May. not right now though.

Well there was a lot of talk last season that the difference in class wasnt as big as people thought etc, i think its a bit of both but to be fair it must be hard working on a shoe string budget, with which he's done extremely well, he just needs to swallow his pride a bit and try out new approaches tactics wise, the players are all well capable of standing out in this league, but maybe they're not as suited to his style as much as he thought.

defo underestimated the spl or he would have fixed our only problem area first.
its naivety at its wrst. for me i'd have done the defence first not all these players in midfield.

Warbs is a clever man there's no way he underestimated the SPL, especially after the performances against St Johnstone and Kilmarnock last season which were massive reality checks at the time. I think he's working on a shoestring budget and I also think he's yet to find a midfield that works for us - it's been flat all season.

Del, I think it's too early to tell. We've played some good football in the first 4 games. Usually in the latter stages. If we can play like that for 90 mins we will have a good season. Let's not forget that we're unbeaten and still gelling as a team. Not to mention injuries to key players. The CH fiasco has got me slightly concerned too but I think it's too early to judge. Ask me again at xmas ;)

I doubt very much he's underestimated the challenge. I do think he's a bit stubborn in his thinking and he's lacking key decision making management requires. Alex Ferguson is the best example of management mentality in football. Our own fans and every opponent can see our Achilles heel and nothing has been done to address it. It's almost as if defensive requirements have been an afterthought to strategy.

Not a chance that Warbs has underestimated the top division although some Rangers fans certainly have, the ones who repeatedly said last season that there was little difference between the two divisions.

There is.

I think the hallmark of our team last season was playing at a high intensity in the opponents half and this season we have only been able to do that in spells. Usually once we go a goal behind. The signings have taken longer than we would've hoped to get up to speed which has had an effect and we have been unlucky with injuries to Windass, Waghorn, Holt and 3 players who are dynamic in there play. And we haven't seen Crooks kick a ball yet. I certainly don't think MW has underestimated the league and a after the international break we should be in a better place. My only disappointment was us signing over the hill, the guy has been rubbish for years and was never going to be the answer. Let's see what happens before midnight tonight.

Rangers haven't gelled yet. We've brought in 11 players so far and haven't had a testing pre season against teams of a higher caliber to bring them on. Its going to take time to get up to speed. The old firm game is coming too soon for us but as we know the form book goes out the window on these days, so will just need to wait and see.

Celtic have added quality additions to a mediocre team however they have improved under Buck Rodgers. I feel that we have too but we need to get used to playing in the same team. Barton and Rossiter can't play in the same midfield. Barton for me slows play down but is a quality addition to the team. Krancjar will be a quality addition also over time. I'll hazard a bet around October/ November were running like a finely oiled machine. Hopefully we're still there or round a-bouts top of league to compete in that time. Keep the faith!

REALLY! "Naivety at its worst" get a grip!

Warburton has worked this summer looking at defensive targets, Marriapa, Lescott and Senderos to name but 3 (and I could almost guarantee more we don't know about), the guy won't be held to ransom by overpaid billy big bollocks! I would have loved Mariappa to sign, however only on the evidence that he had the inkling to play for the club not just because we were paying hugely inflated wages.

I do not for a second buy into this "Hes underestimated the SPL" mantra! the guy has worked within the budget he has available to bring in the best available players who wanted to come to Scotland and play for a team who is not competing in European competition.

Naivity at its worst! indeed!
