Seems the Garner move is all down to his agent rather than Rangers scouting him and initiating contact. Fee also nowhere near the sums quoted, a better deal some would say.

How do you know this and I can't see mw taking a player because an agent said.

17 Aug 2016 16:53:54
We know this how?

17 Aug 2016 17:10:38
Not sure about the agent part but I really cannot see us paying 1.8 million for any player as we simply don't have the money.

17 Aug 2016 17:16:50
If he bangs in the goals i don't care how the move came about.

17 Aug 2016 17:44:03
Money can be raised or do you lack the brain power to realise that? Where do you think the 5m came from to repay a****y? We couldn't "afford" that either by your estimation. Start listening to the gaffer if it represents value and adds something to the squad we don't already posses we will move not because you don't think we have enough money or because you don't think there good enough, your opinion doesn't matter a toss in comparison to MW/ DW/ FMcP hence why there the qualified professionals in there positions.

Each player with the agency that Garner is with gets what is called a Player Services Manager. That person basically acts like a concierge service for whichever client they get assigned to. Garner's is a certain Elisha Warburton. Conversation is said to have gone loosely as follows. The agent involved, John Colquhoun asked if a certain relative of Ms Warburton would be interested in a striker at a knock down rate as Preston needed the money. Lo and behold, he's on his way north. MW could've said no but chose to say yes.

Heard that breakdown of costs from a few different places but don't know anything about his agent. I did give you lescott was signing nearly 2 weeks ago and got laughed at.

17 Aug 2016 23:03:45
Here's my take on this, the board is trying to assure the manager they're not backing down on the funds available, but at the same time trying to scupper any deal blaming agents clubs etc.

18 Aug 2016 03:07:13
@Gers11. I know someone well who wonks at said agency. Waghorn, Tavernier and Zelalem are all represented by the same. MW also trusts their opinion on players, hence the relative "punt" on Garner.

@Huey. Nice work!

*works*. Doh.

18 Aug 2016 12:36:12
sensible one he wouldn't take anybodys word for it anyone we are getting in he has been looking at for a while I can assure u of that he is a smart man and wouldn't take an agencys word that their player is good enough.
