All the transfers seem to be taking some time to finalise, not worrying yet so far this season but in future might lead to missing out on players, think this has been the only fault with the signing policy so far.

I think we will be fine as long as we get a striker and C. B.

The team looks really good as it is and you can see that Warburton has stuck to the "only if they add quality" idea.

18 Jul 2016 17:42:49
How long does it take to sign a player? Players get signed in minutes on transfer deadline day. Warburton saying he leaves it to the clever people I'm sure is getting said through gritted teeth. The player is training, he wants to be here, the paperwork was surely ready, Warburton wanted to show him to the fans tomorrow, cone on clever people, stop messing about!

Dodoo is taking a bit longer than I thought but he wants to come and was training with us again today so he'll be ours shortly no problem. Mariappa deal has went extremely quite but I think we're still in negotiations as he's not signed for anyone else yet.

18 Jul 2016 18:22:05
All true, but let's remember that a £250k or less deal is hardly going to get a huge priority on the Leicester side, so I don't see them moving particularly fast as they're only getting a minimum fee. So whilst they won't be unhelpful, I'm sure there's no great incentive for them in getting this deal done.

18 Jul 2016 18:23:21
None of us have ever done a single transfer I don't think we should judge since none of us understand the complexity of the job.

18 Jul 2016 18:13:06
do you know what happens during transfer, contract negotiations? Insurance, clauses etc? Players with 20 offers on the table? And your on about them taking too long, we have signed 8players already you know, and why on earth would you get worried. ? More important things to worry about mate.

18 Jul 2016 18:24:32
and its not a normal signing, we have to agree to a cross boarder training compensation fee which must be negotiated and finalised with paperwork which I assume is what is slowing it down but it looks like he's basically a Rangers player.

18 Jul 2016 18:46:52
Suddenly we are all in a rush to sign players and have told the clever men to hurry up. It could be that Leicester City are holding it up. Maybe Leicester City are in no rush to let him go. Maybe just maybe sometimes things don't go to plan and get held up. However, I like to think that the 'clever men' are doing hardball with the various clubs and agents, and maybe that is why the Mariappa deal is not being done . yet.

18 Jul 2016 18:49:31
Deals involving compensation can take an age, months in some cases. You have to make sure everything is done and dusted or the club can withhold the registration, ala the Accrington situation. Have patience and it will bore fruit.

Think Management team doing a great job, researched targets, very professional and focused. Really like how we consider personal character and fit of the targets. No risky panic buys for us with his Management Team.

The lads training today with us so calm down guys!

18 Jul 2016 22:57:43
Agree we need to be patient but is the lad not a free agent so Leicester cannot withhold registration. I think we are merely showing respect to Leicester and rightly so, and waiting until compensation fee is agreed before we play him. I think if push came to shove we could actually play him as I think terms have been agreed with the lad and we could let a tribunal decide if we couldn't agree.

Imo transfers on deadline day are done quicker because the player and clubs could both loose out, but when they have time on their hands they can play hardball.

18 Jul 2016 18:57:12
Saying players get signed in mins is rubbish. On deadline day, many fail at midnight because the paperwork wasn't done quick enough, many have been negotiations going on for weeks, you can't possibly sign players in minutes, do you not understand any of that. ? Insurance for starters, these are often multi million pound contracts, you don't do them in minutes mate, or you could find your club paying a crippled player for the next 5 yrs, , lots of agents, clubs, fees, lawyers etc involved,
Tommy.

And don't know bout you, but I'm delighted with the fact we actually have people negotiating monetary affairs, not just signing cheques in Rangers name. Aren't you?

19 Jul 2016 03:29:06
I think when we are in a better position financially transfers will be a lot smoother, even as early as nxt season with money in bank Warbs will be able to bring even stronger talent and more players will want to come to Ibrox.
