Hope we get clarity then closure on the contract discussions this week, starting first with MW. Difficult to envisage issue with Wag and Tav if the boss had been tied down. On Wag and Tav, unless under current deals they are significantly disadvantaged compared to Fod, Holt, Forrester, Kiernan, Wilson and Halliday, then I really find it difficult to have real empathy. Considering where they have come from unfair and unrealistic to compare themselves with Barton, Nico and Rossiter.

If the rumours are true then it is nothing to do with Warburton not signing a new contract yet. The players seem to believe they are worth 15k a week. Warburton has already said that he will be back into talks with dave king soon.

There is mountains being made out of mole hills regarding this, it's all part of the negotiation process and at the end of the day money is a big issue of any working man. Deals will be signed when both parties meet in the middle, a deal suitable for both employer and employee.

Spot on Negri, this happens all the time at every club. let's be honest if any of us were in the type of job where we could move around we would all ask for something and hope to get an amicable conclusion, only difference is that certain newspapers would have no interest in highlighting hoping to create hassle.

Exactly the point I made FD both have done nothing to justify that kind of wage. Baron and Kranjcar are proven and Rossiter is a great prospect. Waghorn and Tav won a Scottish championship title and a challenge cup, both expected, and failed in the Scottish up. If they won the Scottish cup and we were in Europe then maybe but they have done literally nothing special since they have signed. Tav is average defensively but very good going forward. What has he done to justify wages like Barton? Same with Waghorn he scored like 12 penalties and was injured for half the season. Doesn't look like top earners to me. Not yet. Both could end up flopping this season and both can easily be replaced. Why would you offer, which I assume is a 3-5 year deal on improved wages to there justification when they haven't done anything to warrant it? You compare them to someone like McKay or Holt who for me were our best players last season they have justified the contract offer the board offers what they feel is appropriate and they accepted it. Now Waghorn and Tav want as much as the top earners when they weren't even our best players last season. Its a non starter the board offered them what they felt was deserved. We could get at least 2 mill for both anyway which would be decent business.

My animosity comes from the fact that every other player has accepted terms to be there when offered. They will have been offered similar to what everyone else was. They have done nothing to justify being a top earner the days of just paying high wages to players are in the past. Just angers me since we made them. Neither the two were anybody 18 months ago.

No big deal if they leave IMO.

The bonus we get with having a manager who was formerly involved in the stock market, is that he is good with money and understands value. He will take Into account. everything these players can offer, future sell on fees etc and make an offer, which these players are well within their rights to knock back, now both parties have a starting point and can take it from there. I would be more worried about losing Mark Warburton than any player in the squad.

Ross W, How do you know they have been offered same as everyone else, how do you know everyone else has accepted their offer, indeed would be very surprised if everyone are made offers at similar time, and of course it suits certain newspapers to highlight these two. And whilst we can debate how good they are they were certainly lot better than some of our dross on perhaps substantially more, but let me add should they eventually leave i am sure there will be a bit of an earner for us so i really don't see what the problem is, they have until now done the job they were brought for.

Well I know everyone else accepted there offers because they signed extended deals through out the season (Miller, Mckay, Holt ect) . I know how much they offered would be reasonable by reading articles wrote about the wage structure and transfer policy by the club. They have two years left on there deal and they view this as a "reward" to the players so I firmly believe they would have offered what they deserved and they are getting greedy with wages because of our new signings.

why can people not stop getting their k. ickers in a twist, get a grip these two guys are signed until 2018, simple question, if you had deal with your company until 2018 and they wanted to extend would you and perhaps more realistically in this instance your agent get the feeling they really wanted you and therefore see what you could get. (anyone who says no are telling porkies) let's get it straight these guys have not asked for a transfer, so please stop trying to make them sound like undeserving traitors. Come on once again sources trying to cause bother and so many of us happy to jump on.

One thing is for sure, that, if and when either Wag or Tav leave, they will never play for a club as big as Rangers again. Let's see how these players perform first 6 months of this season and if they can help us back into Europe then they would be more within their rights to ask for a higher salary. Time will tell on this one.
