When it comes to a CB I think we should be looking more at a stopper rather than a ball player. All the talk of Bougie is just that, the full backs bomb on its part of our game, we need a defender who will sit in and not go wanders, both Wilson and Kiernan are capable of bringing the ball out and that's part of the problem they are to similar. Bougie falls into that, he brings the ball out of defence.
As to who comes in that all depends on who out of Wilson and Kiernan the gaffer rates more. Wilson being left sided casts question marks over a few of the targets rumoured with Beevers and Ridgewell both being left footed. We probably need to CB as Wilson and Kiernan are the only two recognised CBS in the squad (yes Crooks can play but I don't think that's why he has been bought) Gaspartto has left and Balls loan expired, do we go back in for Ball? If we do I think he would be ahead of what we have already but we would still need an experienced partner for him and there are few free transfers that fit the bill at the moment.
If we have money to spend on transfers it should predominantly be spent on a defender in my opinion, we will always score goals and the midfield looks sorted, yes another centre forward wouldn't go a miss but at the moment the center of defence has to be a priority.

I think we will see crooks at CB as we have signed rossiter and Barton already have Halliday all capable of the holding role! a would agree sign a experienced centre back and also a would like us to get ball back on loan or even better on a perm deal!

Agreed crooks will be centre half, btw I don't know were halliday is going to get a game now, our midfield looks really strong and I think him and holt won't play much next year, shame as both have been great all year.

I think Halliday, Holt and windass will be competing for the same position while rossiter and barton will pretty much be in most games but who knows.

Crooks will be the DM we have been looking for, yes he can play CH but my my guess after watching him a lot def
DM, can read the game very well and also very intelligent
with the ball, great prospect .

If you look at the Rangers website, it categorises Crooks as CB and Windass as forward. This is really where these boys play but can play in other positions. So far Warburton has balance to the squad but we need more strength in depth.
When you look at the squad listed so far we are not really overloaded with midfielders.

Crooks named in the League 2 team of the year today as a centre midfielder.

Yes I saw this today and have seen clips of him play in both midfield and CB and I think he is made for centre back. We will just have to wait and see.
