First post bears but think danny Wilson gets a bad rap on here a think he's a confident ball player and he did well yesterday.

Danny Wilson has been made a scapegoat all season mate.

Look at the goals lost and how often it's the same type of goals. He is as culpable as the other defenders and has been very poor. Nothing to do with being made a scapegoat. He isn't good enough and like Kiernan must be replaced.

I think the defence collectively have to carry the can for the goals we lost as well as the numerous chances that Hibs carved out during the match. Davie Weir must have been having kittens on the touchline watching that display. Goal 1. At fault - Kiernan - he must have backed off about 50 yards. Tav is covering Stokes coming inside so at some point Kiernan has to make a decision and come across to make a challenge! He actually turned the incident into a one on one with the goalie who was left with no chance. Goal 2. Stokes gives Tav a half hearted nudge as the ball is coming over to the near post and is left with a free header. Once again the goalie has no chance. Tavernier is a solid guy and a good attacker but really for him to be so easily out muscled was just criminal. Goal 3. The ball is dropping right into CB territory and not one of the defenders gets close to the player and he gets a free header to again give the goalie no chance.
If those incidents were not bad enough the number of times Stokes and to a lesser extent Cummings tore our defence to shreds was quite incredible. There would be no way Gough, Butcher or Amo or Weir would have allowed this pair to boss them like this present lot did. If you recall just after kick off Stokes fired into Holt with a tackle that would have bordered on a red card later in the game. When my father played top flight football in the 50's he was always told to 'post yer intentions early on' by the coaches. And as an old fashioned centre half he certainly did! This is exactly what our guys should have done. Let these players know they were in for a hard time. The open style of play doesn't help as it leaves obvious gaps and allows opposition players too much room. Don’t get me wrong it is great to watch but sometimes I'd just like the guys to stay solid at certain times of the match the way the old teams used to do. A plan b as it were. But then Mark's philosophy is to do plan a better and this isn't going to change anytime soon. I'm just concerned we are too predictable with our 60 minute subs and the rest. I wish we would throw in a curve ball from time to time the way Souness used to do. Give the opposition something to think about. Anyway, all in all a bad day at the office. Congrats to Hibs. They deserved to win. As for their fans - they are beneath contempt. Shocking, absolutely shocking and I really hope our wishy washy football authority hammer Hibs for this in the way they would hammer our club had roles been reversed.

Forgot to say a lot of people have called for the big keeper to be replaced. I have to say I am still not sure about him as he has made some errors but to blame him for yesterday - no, sorry, he was never at fault for any of the goals. In fact he actually made a few good saves throughout.

The seeker

While I agree with most of your post I have to point out that we have been losing goals like that all season and the management team have done nothing about it. Kiernan and Wilson have been playing most of the season and no matter how many mistakes they make they still play. Warburton wrongly went with only 3 centre halves all season and persevered with players who continually made the same mistakes. Look at all the Hibs goals against us all season they have been cheap goals to give away yet the same players were picked and made the same mistakes.

Point taken Biffo, you are spot on. Healthy competition for places never hurt anybody.

I agree that Wilson can play football well but he isn't commanding or quick enough.
