No truth in the McCormack rumour, all media talk. Read a couple of comments on FB that I know is close to him that say he's heard nothing.

gazzmclau

1.) 20 Aug 2018 19:42:05
I wouldn't want to see him back at Rangers

He was great 2/3 years ago but his wages are far too high as a result a massive risk!

No Thanks.

2.) 20 Aug 2018 22:55:13
If we can get him with Aston Villa still paying a high percentage of his wage then sure, I can see it making sense but otherwise he's not worth the money and hassle.

3.) 21 Aug 2018 10:08:32
McCormack may have scored a few for Melbourne in the Australian A league, but trust me this league is very average.

10 Jan 2018 13:46:00
Hamilton have just signed a greek Defensive mid, this will probably mean Docherty is leaving.

gazzmclau

1.) 10 Jan 2018 15:02:41
Hope we try to sign him soon, press saying Cardiff are interested also. He is a huge Gers man and I feel like he would take the chance to come to Rangers if given the choice.

2.) 10 Jan 2018 17:53:56
Money talks doesn't it let's see what happens

3.) 10 Jan 2018 17:54:08
Gers man he has Irish grandparents and can play for the Republic if he got call up I thought he was a celtic fan?

4.) 10 Jan 2018 18:07:27
If money talks?
Cardiff (good grief, ) can outbid us!

5.) 10 Jan 2018 18:15:52
why is it every player we are linked with the replky is hope we get him he's a Gers man

6.) 10 Jan 2018 18:55:17
I would say it's because they're the obvious ones for lazy journos and the most believable for fans, but most importantly it's essential for the clubs identity to have a steady stream of blue blood running through it. Mark Allen seems to know this given the appointments of Jimmy Nic, Bomber etc and several other ex players plus the Dorrans and Murphy signings. That's not to say we shouldn't be exploring every avenue to find new talent, but having just set up a scouting network that's surely a longer term goal.

7.) 10 Jan 2018 19:24:43
Big blu bear, maybe we r starting to target the right players. For me it was refreshing listening to Murphy talking how proud he was to sign for us and his fathers reaction. He will burst. A gut and hopefully deliver.

8.) 10 Jan 2018 19:57:52
East Belfast, greg docherty IS a rangers fan mate, i can assure you! He's friendly with one of the motherwell youth coaches i know! In saying that big blue bear is correct! It doesn't matter who any player we are wanting to sign, supports! As long as he can play!

9.) 10 Jan 2018 20:11:22
I do agree it doesn't matter which team a player supports if he's good enough but wherever possible it's surely better to have ones who care that little bit more and give an extra 10% when required?

10.) 10 Jan 2018 18:45:17
Don't no why I got 2 disagrees look it up about him and the Republic

11.) 10 Jan 2018 19:23:36
Everyone giving Allen credit for hiring Rangers men. Murty says a few weeks ago how he was talking to smith, getting tips and advice. Then the other day jig comparing this windows recruitment to smiths adter le guen. Coincidence, I think not.

12.) 10 Jan 2018 20:32:12
You can be from Republic of Ireland through grandparents and still be a gets fan haha

13.) 10 Jan 2018 22:41:46
Big blue bear. It’s not a requirement to be a Rangers fan, I just stated that given the choice between Cardiff and Rangers, he’d choose us for that reason.

Stop greetin.

14.) 10 Jan 2018 22:59:09
East Belfast.
I had a granny from the Republic and I'm a Rangers fan. What's so weird about that?

15.) 11 Jan 2018 14:06:10
Both my grandparents and aunt were born in dublin my dad is a catholic from england and he's a bluesnose and iam diehard bluenose i could play for the republic, scotland, or england. The point you made east belfast is rubbish fella

16.) 12 Jan 2018 00:58:39
Of course cardiff can outbid us bil72

17.) 12 Jan 2018 01:02:13
East Belfast

So is Murty

18.) 12 Jan 2018 01:14:42
bearMode

he will choose who pays him most cash

04 Jan 2018 17:39:34
Bristol City are about to table a bid for Tav as a potential replacement if the happen to lose Joe Bryan, with several sniffing about him.

gazzmclau

1.) 04 Jan 2018 18:24:30
if true they better table a serious bid ie 2m+ or they can bolt

he’s one of our best players IMO and days of teams picking up our players for buttons shd be long gone

hope lad stays i'm a big fan and think he’s a crackin footballer. remember the days we had likes of ross perry argyriou etc at right back.

2.) 04 Jan 2018 19:13:51
Bryan a left back

3.) 04 Jan 2018 19:19:31
Been outstanding this season, hope we don't lose him.

4.) 05 Jan 2018 12:50:43
With tav not signing a new deal I think we would have to let him go if a decent 1.5m + bid came in

10 Jan 2017 10:07:54
Not that I ever thought it would happen anyways just thought I would post that Sky sports have announced that Stoke City have submitted a bid for Berahino.

gazzmclau

1.) 10 Jan 2017 11:08:54
How does that work isn't he able to talk to clubs now away are rangers able to talk to him some figures going about rangers would get him for about 500.000, stoke have bid around less than 20 million how does pre-contract work

2.) 10 Jan 2017 11:10:09
That doesn't mean that he would go to them. The guy would be crazy to give up a serious share of any future sale by a non English club that got him 'on the cheap' to go to Stoke City!

3.) 10 Jan 2017 11:13:33
Seen this as well, I never thought it would happen either tbh. stoke though, I mean it's hardly an ambitious move on the players part, stoke will never win the league, they might sneak a europa league place 1 year out of 10 and they will never win the FA cup or EFL cup. we might get a europa league place this year but we should at least always be in the mix for a European place, not this season granted but we should be challenging for the league title and should have decent cup runs

4.) 10 Jan 2017 11:36:36
How is stoke not a better move than Rangers? We will struggle to get Europa League group stages whilst they are comfortably in the EPL. If he performs against the big clubs he will have a better chance of moving to them than he would if he performed against Hearts and St Johnstone. The reason Demebele is still being linked with big moves is because Champions League and Internation U21 performances. We can't offer that.

5.) 10 Jan 2017 12:40:43
If we could have landed him for the 500k much like C****c did with Dembele then the only stumbling block I could see would be his wages and his desire to accept that this would probably benefit his career more than it would if he moves to stoke. Bottom line the guy has a Sulky bad attitude which was evident at his protests outside Spurs HQ on deadline day do we really want another fiasco like this? If we were to sell ourselves to him it would be - 500k which would put WBA out of pocket which might get him excited and our reluctance to hold onto him if a bid did arise in the future due to our current predicament.

6.) 10 Jan 2017 13:39:29
I would have said that a move to a Non English Club would be a better move for him than a move to Stoke, (whether that was rangers or someone else) . He would go for £500,000 and could negotiate a signing on fee and a share of any future Sale Proceeds.

It would also be a better deal for his Agent!

If he signs for Stoke for say, £15m, then he will get 10% of the signing on fee. He could negotiate a deal with Rangers or anyone else outside of the English Leagues for a lot more!

If cash is important to him then that is a better deal than Stoke. If football is important then Stoke is equally illogical!

7.) 10 Jan 2017 14:59:30
Let's be realistic
There's no chance on earth berahino would sign for us.
We are in the market for loan players, for the simple reason we don't have the money.
So for anyone thinking there's a 1% chance he will sign for us is deluded.

It's well documented that the BBC and Rangers are not the best of friends but the spite in their reporting of anything rangers is mind boggling. The BBC's "impartial" journalists have ran an article on only one of our pre-season games so far and yes, you've probably guessed it, the 0-0 with Blackburn. Anything even remotely negative and they'll jump right on it, they've not interest that we trounced Marseille 4-0 (Despite running Accrington Stanley's 2-1 win) . There's no doubt in my mind they've actively made the decision not to run any of our pre-season wins.

What made me decide to post this was the article they ran on the website today of the Manchester United U21's 4-0 defeat of our boys at the weekend, using words like "outclassed", "Cruised" and "Eased past". We all know this doesn't tell the full story as the majority of that team were involved in another game. These are our up and coming youngsters but any sniff of a negative regarding our club they will pounce on it and they care not a jot.

gazzmclau

1.) 30 Jul 2019 06:34:04
When did we draw 0-0 with Blackburn? Looks like your reporting research is as bad as theirs.

2.) 30 Jul 2019 06:49:40
Get used to it gazz because it ain't going to change anytime soon. Should be renamed bbc ireland.

3.) 30 Jul 2019 07:18:57
Who gives a toss about the BBC. A publicly-funded organisation which squanders money and pays overrated 'stars' ridiculous amounts of money, reneges on a deal it did with the government of the day to pick up funding of free TV licences for over-75s. Most of their programming is terrible. In this day and age, the TV licence should be scrapped and the BBC should be made to stand on its own two feet just like the commercial TV stations. I for one WON'T be watching Sportscene this coming season. Muppets the lot of them!

4.) 30 Jul 2019 08:43:38
class 0-0,blame the BBC and you can't even get the score correct yourself.
still laughing yet. I can't really remember any station reporting on pre season kick about.

5.) 30 Jul 2019 09:14:40
Gazz mclau, don't worry about the bbc coverage of the famous. They are an embarrassment and total amateurs!
You just have to look at the likes of steven thompson and michael stewart, god almighty. Also the morons who write their blogs mclaughlin and co. Absolute knuckledraggers mate. I pay no attention to any of that lot and wouldn't give them the time of day. So, so jealous of the famous glasgow rangers that its jumping out of them! They need us a helluva lot more, than we will ever need them!

04 Sep 2018 13:25:02
Seems shagger has got away with his kick on Ajer, pleased about this as we could do without him being suspended but how they came to the conclusion of no further action is beyond me.

gazzmclau

1.) 04 Sep 2018 13:43:17
Gazzmclau. Yes he got away with one, but the rule says kick out must be deemed violent, crazy rule.
We need our players to think about their behaviour. We have top many daft bookings and sending offs.

2.) 04 Sep 2018 14:39:40
So did McGregor have eyes in the back of his head he didn’t know what part of Ajer he was kicking what if his studs had been in Ajers face in stead of his side would that be deemed excessive force?

3.) 04 Sep 2018 15:06:30
Bigp honestly don't know, our players must not kick out, I feel if he had been seen he would have got a red, then won appeal.

4.) 04 Sep 2018 15:08:53
it wasn't excessive force as it was no worse than Ajer did to him!

5.) 04 Sep 2018 17:03:09
FTW I agree with u. But if seen ref would have sent him off.

6.) 05 Sep 2018 10:09:22
I'm glad he's not banned but i will not accept or stick up for any of our players that carry on like this and that goes for Morelos as well. We could have easily lost shagger on Sunday and then it would have been a cricket score. We need to rise above this because now we find ourselves in a situation where their defence is actively trying to wind up Morelos, they'll be actively trying to entice a reaction from McGregor any time there's play in our box. I can trust the latter to at least learn from Sunday but Freddo i'm closing my eyes.

7.) 05 Sep 2018 14:11:28
I think previous no-action verdicts against Brown and Naismith may have fed into this one. Surprised me too. shows you just how bad the officiating in Scotland is to be honest, Foul on Jack leading up to the goal, Christie's Dive. and then elsewhere look at the Partick thistle game where no-one out of 4 officials could see a goal.
Its brutal on a weekly basis.

8.) 05 Sep 2018 14:14:59
The referee was looking straight at it, I also believe that your manager should not be making comments about rangers getting nothing from the refs, between that decision, and the Naismith one, it’s unbelievable that no further actions, absolute rediculous decisions.

9.) 05 Sep 2018 14:18:08
Aye this retaliation by our players has to stop, same as the feigned pain wi players rolling about in fake agony and replay shows little no contact. As for Alfredo a couple more of these sending offs and I believe he will be off at the Jan. transfer window cause Stevie will have been having words wi him privately i'd bet.

03 Sep 2018 14:14:11
Would just like to give a special mention to my haters who slated me 12 years ago when i said Gareth McAuley would be a Rangers player, So glad its now to came to fruition over a decade later which can now silence the majority.

gazzmclau

1.) 03 Sep 2018 15:04:15
You can seriously remember saying that 12yrs ago🤨 I hope this small victory was well worth the long assed wait you’ve had to be proven correct lol I bet you been sat waiting with your finger hovering over enter waiting on us signing him🤭😁😆😂🤣 Sorry bro I couldn’t resist ☺️☺️ 🇬🇧🔵⚪️🔴.

15 Aug 2018 07:58:30
If our current situation with Celtic was a boxing match we'd be instructed to go in for the kill, they are on the canvas and we need to keep the momentum and not give them an inch to make the 10 count. That starts with not dropping any points until the old firm and then going for the win at piggery, none of this nonsense of settling for a draw, none of this showing them respect or feeling inferior to any one member of their squad. I've been quite reserved now for a few years regarding all this talk of going for 55 or getting the next old firm win but i firmly believe now is the time, we have shown in a very short space of time with a new team we are more than capable of hitting them where it hurts AND IT STARTS NOW!

gazzmclau

1.) 15 Aug 2018 09:20:00
I’ll judge this team and it’s progress after 12 games in the league not before. Where we are at the January break will tell us alot.

2.) 15 Aug 2018 09:21:49
Brilliantly put should be on the dressing room wall.

3.) 15 Aug 2018 09:23:01
Completely agree Gaz, I think complacency is the only thing that would stop us being incredibly competitive if not bettering them.

4.) 15 Aug 2018 10:06:22
Before the Celtics weaknesses were displayed twice this week, I thought we had to wait until the home old firm game to finally get our win over them, but not now, definitely need to strike whilst the irons hot! Hopefully their mojo has been hammered enough for thistle to scrape at least a draw aswell, maybe king was right and we will now see the domino effect at long last!

5.) 15 Aug 2018 10:29:09
I agree with all the sentiments expressed above. If Lafferty does join, will SG go for Morelos and Lafferty up front at the piggery next month? As for the 'missing' players, Holt was hard done by, gave his all. Halliday, I've already stated gives 110% and could be useful now and again. Rossiter is class but injury prone to say the least but I disagree about Dorrans. Played in the right position when he is fit he is a very good player. Arfield and Couibally have added craft and steel to the midfield this season but we need a big squad, especially if we stay in Europe beyond Christmas. A final note - if the manky mob qualify for the Europa League group stages and so do we, would we be kept apart in the group stages and could we then in theory be drawn against one another in the knockout stages?

6.) 15 Aug 2018 10:33:18
Press, desire and belief is enough alone to beat this Celtic side. Other teams, including our own, are guilty only of showing them too much respect which makes them look like world beaters within our league which they are not. I don't think any other side will fear them right now, they've got to earn that respect again. Let's go.

7.) 15 Aug 2018 13:44:42
Doiger the round of 16 is the first time teams from the same association can be paired together.

8.) 15 Aug 2018 14:32:00
Sure it’s the last 8 before you play anybody from same country.

25 Apr 2017 14:16:38
Seeing a lot of opinions regarding players we should sign from other teams in our league about how the likes of Walker, Moult, Boyce and the likes are better than what we currently have. I Always try to look at it in such a way had the likes of Tavernier, Waghorn etc. played in teams such as Hearts or Ross County we would probably be debating heavily about how we should go sign these players as they would probably be flourishing in this kind of setup. Point I'm trying to make is just because these players are having a good season doesn't mean they will be able to replicate that at Rangers under more demand and scrutiny.

What utter tripe, as if we're going to let some lad who's started a handful of games for Motherwell dictate to us the terms and conditions of his contract! he'll be lucky to start half that this season.

I wish people would shut up about Shankland, he's not anywhere near the quality yet to be a Rangers player, he needs a stepping stone into the Premiership before we think about signing him. Cumdog scored for fun in that league and he couldn't cut it either.

He's a good player but the surrounding hype for him over the course of the summer is unjustified, he's accomplished nothing but does stand as a great talent. I'd take him, he would offer a lot imo but it's the usual with young English players the hype is disproportionate.

Would completely undermine his role as manager in my opinion, he's the gaffer and should stay the gaffer. I'd rather he flung in youngsters to give them experience and bleed them in rather than seeing him on the park.

I agree it's a bit steep but at the end of the day we're trying to run a business as well as a football club and the board know which ever the price they set we would fill our stadium 3 or 4 times over. Maybe if we got through the groups (big maybe i know) they might set a cheaper price for fans loyalty.

Gerrard, if i recall correctly, did mention some of his injuries are to do with his growth which is something SG suffered from when he was younger but i think his latest injury was unrelated. I agree with you i'd like a proper update on his recovery as last season we went months without hearing anything to the point i actually posted in here because i couldn't find anything on his progress.

They have been bang average but we need to safeguard against the fact that players like Dembele, Rogic etc. seem to turn up against us. The old firm is different ball game and they seem to up their game tenfold when facing us. We see it as the probably the best chance of finally getting a victory over them but for all they're probably bricking it they'll also see it as a chance to kick start their season. I'm not calling it, be buzzing with a win and happy with a draw.
