Niko resumed training today, any word on how far away he is from full return? still can't see him returning this season unfortunately : ( although it would be a much needed spark needed in that dire team!

doc1856

1.) 22 Feb 2017 15:17:28
If you look at the photos on the club website he is still training on his own with the physio as he was last week. Time to think he might make it back before the end of the season is when he starts training with the rest of the squad. Even then he'd still have to get match fit-no sign of Rossi ter outside though. Think he's even less likely to be back before the end of the season. At least Windass proved he's still alive though!

2.) 22 Feb 2017 15:20:21
8-10 days probably

3.) 25 Feb 2017 11:21:17
fully fit by april unless any setbacks

Jonny Evans will push to join Rangers for the 2017-18 season as he is keen to get back into playing European football and is willing to take a wage cut to push the deal through.

1.) 26 May 2016 18:03:25
A know it's a rumour page, but this isn't going to happen.

2.) 26 May 2016 18:48:14
I know he's a gers fan but I seriously doubt it.

3.) 26 May 2016 22:27:07
just cause he's in the BPL doesn't mean he's world class.

4.) 27 May 2016 15:24:39
i would love it if he signed for us!

Alot of names being passed about that could be coming to Rangers as there does be every year but more so now with the rebuild in progress.

WOuld be great if we could shift Davies to free up funds to buy Connor Coady, he would be a fantastic signing up here - on top of him what are the thoughts on Johnny Evans? i know he's had some injury issues but even for his European experience he would be good to have albeit perhaps not as a first choice.

doc1856

1.) 05 Jun 2023 09:11:41
Not another injury prone player, plus Evans wage way out of our wage range.

2.) 05 Jun 2023 09:42:56
Injury prone

Sorry but ALL football players get INJURED

Thats why goldson kyogo rashford kane alfie messi mbappe etc etc etc all missed games this season because some might be worth £££££££££££££££££ does not mean there not going to get injured there human there not made of gold.

3.) 05 Jun 2023 11:16:03
INTR - Some players we buy are made of butter pal and get injured putting their shinnies on? in the past - let's be fair we have signed many players with injury issues who we definitely did not get value for - so an Evans type is a no for me albeit he is a bluenose with loads experience.

4.) 05 jun 2023 11:18:50
yes, and there's still thousands who are indeed “ injury prone”

just like are millions of people who are more prone to getting, flu, disease etc,

5.) 05 Jun 2023 13:22:08
Evans has missed most of the last two seasons through injury and at his age is likely to struggle to get back to full fitness . He.

So guys, with France now declaring PSG as champions how do you think the SPL will be decided?

personally I can see Celtic being awarded the title with the season finishing "as things stand"

I have followed Rangers since I was a young boy, problem being my other love happens to be Liverpool FC - although I can't see anyway they can deny Liverpool the title being so far ahead it leaves a sour taste in my mouth if its won by season finishing "as things stand".

doc1856

1.) 01 May 2020 13:05:33
Will you celebrate the "tainted title" as a Liverpool fan mate. A genuine question because a lot of our fans are saying that we would never accept the title in these circumstances. Personally i still think the season should be played to a finish however long that takes.

2.) 01 May 2020 13:52:10
if the season ends as it stands which let's face it is looking the most likely option then its a strange one. we have waited 30 years and its won like this but again we are different from any other team on the planet at the moment. no other team is 25 points clear and let's face it no one bar Liverpool were going to win that title this year doesn't matter if it was still mathematically possible or not! not a hope was it going to slip this time, so to answer your question will I celebrate? yes I will, only because it was going to happen regardless, if this was to 2014 season and the season ended prematurely with us sitting 6 points clear as it was in the closing stages then it would be a completely different scenario.

im all for ending the season the right way though and that's by letting us finish the games, win it proper and shut the man united and everton fans up at long last!

3.) 01 May 2020 14:12:06
Doc1856, I also follow Liverpool FC, and there is a huge difference in that most definitely they would have won the league only requiring 2 points to do so officially. I agree that in Rangers case, we could catch them, but, it would be highly unlikely the way we were playing prion to the stoppage. Either way, I think the decision will already have been made, and most of the other teams would accept the decision anyway. I will say, that we have not covered ourselves in glory (in my opinion), with the dallying over sending out the information we hold to the other 41 Clubs, they cannot support us, or otherwise, if they don't know what we have. This is a game strategy we won't win, as most think it's a big bluff.

4.) 01 May 2020 14:26:04
not a big bluff till all the cards are on the table, all the others ones are putting out deflection statements to try and cover their own backs, let's wait and see how it all pans out, rangers still hold the whip hand at the moment by keeping schtum.

5.) 01 May 2020 14:34:27
Some liverpool fan you irvger, they need 6 points.

6.) 01 May 2020 14:44:46
AW Naw jyf, you've spoiled my day now, lol, cheers pal, they'll still win it though.

7.) 01 May 2020 15:05:08
Got you on a technicality there irvger, the difference in England is that Liverpool are the best team in the land.

8.) 01 May 2020 19:36:51
Cheers for the reply lads wasnt having a go was really wanting to see how fans of both Liverpool and rangers felt. As a rangers fan obviously i want to believe we can still catch celtic but before the league was stopped many fans had conceded the title and were wanting Gerrard replaced.

Unfortunate news Re Jamie Murphy however i'm sure the 2 more additions Stevie wants has now changed to 3! always thought even with Murphy we were a bit light in terms of creativity in the middle/ wings. Who do you think would be a viable option to bring in along with Lafferty and a defensive cover?

I know a few people want Middleton to be given the chance but let's get real here, the lads not the finished product and wouldn't do the job week in and week out between now and May especially with the extra possibility of European group stages and beyond.

doc1856

1.) 22 Aug 2018 14:58:23
I see Middleton as a development player for the next season or two. Should get bench time and a 10 min run-out in a good few games where we are comfortable but would not like to see too much pressure or responsibility placed on him.

Build his strength, knowledge, confidence and talent gradually and we'll end up with a good player.

2.) 22 Aug 2018 15:33:42
Think we could do with more creativity from narrower, Tav and Barasic will provide us plenty width and as long as the machine Coulibaly and Ryan Jack look after the holes they leave then a quality ‘inside left’ would be perfect, Lafferty I believe can play and be effective anywhere across the top end of the pitch!

3.) 22 Aug 2018 15:59:10
developement player. i hate that saying, what a load of crap. a player can't develope if he is sitting on the bench.

4.) 23 Aug 2018 07:11:31
I totally agree with you. I was really impressed with him in the pre season games. He loves running at the defence and showed great skill in doing so. We are missing that from our set-up just now. Get the lad some playing time and let's see how he fits in with the new guys.

14 Jun 2018 09:55:00
Ok folks so with a number of signings already made and its common knowledge that there is more to come! would you agree with the following departures?

Fod or alnwick (cant see us paying the wages of 3 first team goalkeepers when there is no need especially with a good upcoming under 21's GK)

Dodoo - already gone

Halliday

Holt

O'Hallaron

Herrera

Hodson

Forrester

Wallace?

doc1856

1.) 14 Jun 2018 10:26:14
add cordoso to that list
hopeless

2.) 14 Jun 2018 13:14:01
Would agree with your list doc and with the addition of Cardoso by till a die. I know you put a question mark against Wallace but surely he will be told he can go given he is in dispute with the club.

3.) 14 Jun 2018 13:52:23
Yeah Lpool Ger just wasn't sure what the story with Wallace is as its been very quiet, does Cardoso deserve at least one more season as a back up if no other CB's are signed? he still is young enough and surely if he bulks himself up a bit he's in with a chance.

Hello fellow bears, exciting times today with Stevie taking over, just looking at some of the more fringe/ youth players at Liverpool that Gerrard may well be looking into securing transfer/ loan deals for. I know there has been names linked so far but let's be honest none of us are going to know who Gerrard has in mind! out of the following do any of you think any of them would be worth a shot on?

Marko Gruic - on loan last year at Cardiff, surely his time is up at Anfield now given then incoming CM's albeit we couldn't afford him so likely a loan?

Jon Flannagan? has a few England caps which may make him out of our price range, loan?

Ryan Kent? tipped for a big future, again would have to be a loan deal as I can't see Liverpool willing to let him go.

doc1856

1.) 01 Jun 2018 11:55:52
We’d need to be careful with Gruic (or Liverpool in general) he had a clause in his contact which said if he’s fit he must play. I don’t like that!

He's available on a free and to be honest he's record up here speaks for itself and he's improved his game since he was last at Rangers albeit playing with better players around him.

if we manage to get 1.5 million between selling Garner and Waghorn then i'd definitely be in favor of taking on lafferty on a free with another striker/ attacker to come in obviously of better quality than the 2 we are selling, personal choice again would be Weiss!

Waggy scored for fun last year but again its safe to say that was his level, Lafferty has proved he can score in the SPL and at the most crucical times of the season as well!

He has flown in from South Africa to make a decision on offering Kenny Miller and Clint Hill new contracts after MW stated he can't do anything more to get management at higher levels to offer same. He is also apparently working on a new contract offer for Barrie McKay.

he signed a 5 year deal this time last year, i doubt we could afford to buy out his remaining four years although i'd rather have him than a 35 year old Crouch!

As much as i do agree Re Beales signings there is still a lot of work/ cracks to be filled. There is no doubt Cantwell and Raskin have been hits so far and seem to have settled a lot quicker than expected. The has been raves about Sterling and i think he will fit well, Butland and Dowell are both players with PL experience and i am hoping they hit the ground running and don't fall into previous injury ruts, if they stay injury free Dowell could make as big of impact if not more than Cantwell!

Now to the business end that still needs covered, we won't get anywhere unless the defence is sorted along with reliable cover! if Souttar stays injury free then what a player but again going on past i don't think this will be the case. If we manage to get a good price for Davies and get Coady in the door then what a piece of business that will be! again i maybe living in fantasy land with that one! I still think we need another good proven CB to push and provide cover for Goldson and my suggestion if the price is right, Johnny Evans!

Up top, i'm not sure who the preferred targets would be, the names being threw about aren't really getting me excited but again going on previous signings made so far i will trust Beale, let's just hope that what he said is true and that meaning the forward targets being looked at haven't been leaked!

I work for the Health Service in Northern Ireland. I work in Admin for a community based team so not exactly essential when it came to who has to come in and who doesn't but we were made all come in throughout despite having facilities to work from home. its all down to Manager discretion and unfortunately mines is a c**t!
