Agree with all you say. I feel sorry for Murty as well. He seems to be a decent man who has tried his best under difficult conditions.
Some players though have really no future at the club and others have listed who they are.
Over the last few months I have been told by people close to the board that the two you mention have been the choice. Given where we seem to be now I can only assume that they have turned down the approaches.
Its tough going, no question about that. Tougher than the pre Souness times for sure but we've kept this club alive we cannot falter now, we will not falter now.

Strikes me that with all the transfer targets being leaked to the media the new manager must have been appointed as he must be approving them. We just have to wait for the announcement.

Well said. Yesterday was terrible no one can question that but there have been positives since January. We need three high quality new players (as a minimum) to go straight into the team, there are around 8 positions where we have players who in the right set up can do a job. At this point it is essential that everyone holds their nerve and doesn't get hysterical. We mustn't through the baby out with the bathwater here, we must build on the progress that has been made and not go back to square one yet again.

It was good enough for Laudrup to wear when he won the Euros so I'm pretty sure it will do us just fine.
