We all know we need CB's, saw in DR an article on players new Jambos manager could bring in. It indicated 2 CB's and the one that interested me is Roderick Miranda plays for Rio Ave FC in portugues league. A no nonsense CB 1.94M, 25 years old valued at €1million. If we were to sell Windass and Waghorn as rumoured in the papers, what are other readers thoughts.

English Championship this year has a lot of good players out of contract in the summer. I'd grab Bailey Wright, he'd do great up here and is only 24. Maybe even Sasso or Ekstrand (If he could keep fit)

2.) 07 Dec 2016 10:13:40
Can't see us buying any players in January. If any players were to be sold the cash will be used to run the club as King is skint. I repeat KING IS SKINT!

Why would we need a CB? We have four till the end of the season and to be frank, we have been fairly consistent at the back this season. We have been weak everywhere else and that makes the defence look poor due to our style of play.

Look at Hill, or as you would all say 3 games into the season over the hill, he was past it the wrong decision by the manager and we shouldn't have signed him. Now he's touted as our best defender. DW is a quality centre half who has been injured all season. RK when playing with experience seems to look solid also and we haven't seen enough of Senderos to get any idea how bad or good he actually is.

Surely the priority should be the middle of the park, where creativity has been sparse this season (NK injury JB leaving JR, MC AND JW also being injured) or up front where a clinical striker is a necessity. I don't feel we were ever defensively weak, we struggled from a poor balanced squad and a pretender playing CDM (Haliday) .

4.) 07 Dec 2016 12:16:24
Onlyshowaround, think Bailey and Sasso might be good additions 2 good big CB's plus in their mid-20s, build slowly from there and in a few years have a solid team to challenge for the title.

5.) 07 Dec 2016 13:03:14
Scott Hogan would be a good striker to pick up. Maybe even Alan Judge. I know wages are higher down south but surely those are two players we could afford?

6.) 08 Dec 2016 19:18:35
Anti-establishment you're right, we have been very consistent at the back. Shipping 17 goals in 16 league games. You seem to be happy with that though and say we don't need a defender?

7.) 08 Dec 2016 13:39:38
Why is it that crappy average mediocre players from the English championship, who are released and can't get a team, "will to great up here" it really gets on my boobs.

Any word on when the English FA are going to investigate Ashley for his involvement in two clubs. My understanding is if Newcastle win promotion straight back into the premier league we are stuck with Ashley for ages. Newcastle are sitting to of the championship just now so our club should be pushing the FA on if and when proceedings might start. Want Ashley of our back asap and this would be the only way to get rid of him for good. Any thoughts from other bears.

Think he's moved his shares so no longer a problem unfortunately.

3 things we learned today,
Yes we can still beat champioship teams.
We are going to struggle against most premiership teams.
The team can't keep things tight for 90 minutes.
I posted after the first couple of games that we'll be lucky to be in the top 6 come next May. All the people on here talking about finishing 2nd or 3rd, stop dreaming and come back to reality, it ain't going to happen.

It won't happen but this is WORSE than out first championship season.

Winning title was never realistic but this kind of form should raise serious questions about the manager, his tactics, recruitment and training methods.

Our playing budget is more than hearts, Aberdeen and st Johnston combined but for me they are all better teams. Not good enough.

I know I'm going to get slagged on this post but hey I'm like everyone else in having an opinion. After today we will be lucky to be in the top 6 at the end of the season. I hear people on here saying once we've geled we'll come good. Been a Rangers fan all my life but this season is hard to take, played 5 games and can effectively be 7 points behind already. MW said in his post match interview we've 8 out of a possible 15, percentage wise that's about 53%. We've played 4 of the lesser teams 2 scrapped wins and 2 draws. He only has 1 plan, if the opposition score 2 or 3 we'll score more but it just ain't happening. Personally I don't rate MW as a good manager, he has players that should be good enough but he's so content on picking his favourites even when they play badly. (Not good enough) Tell me this, how long is DK and other directors going to wait to see how long it takes to get the team playing and winning consistanly, the same goes for the supporters. Read on here today comments on Barton/ Kranjar could be gone at the end of the season, won't surprise me if that happens. MW's job could also be on the line, some of his decisions with staring 11 and subs have been unbelievable. We have players out because of injury, what's Wilsons injury, it happened during warm up for a game. How long before we see Crooks, MW said maybe a month ago he is a couple of weeks away from being ready yet still no sign of him playing. It's going to be a long hard season, don't think we'll see european football for a few years and the gap between us and Celtic will only get bigger. Time to be realistic, maybe Ally MaCoist is right in saying we're 2 to 3 years behind Celtic.

1.) 11 Sep 2016 08:05:46
Problem with Barton and Kranjcar is that their contracts are longer than just 1 year and I doubt very much anyone will come in for them. Their displays yesterday were predictably poor especially Kranjcar who at one pin seemed determined to get himself sent off. As I've said before Warburton seems to have a problem getting defenders and in Kiernan has one of the worst I've seen in a long time. I'd actually rather have Moshni or Cribari back rather than him!

2.) 11 Sep 2016 09:52:38
Scotsman, Rangers are 2 to 3 years behind Celtic. if Celtic stand still and if Rangers invest some serious cash in the team, Rangers may be able to compete with Aberdeen or Hearts for 2nd place but without investment next year and the year after will be the same.

King either comes clean and says money is coming and when and how much or it is a longer transition trying to introduce youth into the squad which may mean mid table for a couple of seasons. Bringing in Barton, sendros and co is not going to work but that is in hindsight. MW rolled the dice in the hope that experienced pros like Barton would work but it hasn't and now these players are sitting on 2 year contracts so Rangers can't just replace them.

Celtic have Ambrose, GMS, Allen and others who got bought by RD but Celtic have the funds to be able to write those players off or send them out on loan? So Celtic have a massive pool of players. Rangers don't, neither do Aberdeen or Hearts. What makes anyone think Hearts or Aberdeen can challenge Celtic even over the next 10 years, so why should rangers be any different?

No point in saying Rangers can just because it's Rangers. A new reality needs to set in. No shirt sales for 5 years, only gate and tv income. King won't put anything in until there is a better income stream so this is how it's going to be. Rangers may beat Celtic over the season but Celtic will win the league by 20 points until further notice.

Johnnymac did you read my post or did you not understand what was written. I'd like to see your reponse to this post, if it's anything like your last one, I give up!

4.) 11 Sep 2016 22:33:35
Who says we won't have shirt sales a lot sooner than that, like next season?

Want to bring up a different subject. Been reading on how German clubs are run. It is law that football clubs must have 50% fan base ownership, Bayern Munich has a fan base of 250,000. If Rangers followed a similar system, and if we had a worldwide fan base of 150,000 with each member paying say £5 per week x 52 that would generate 39,000,000 per year. If directors were able to get quality investors, more money for the club to invest in a top class youth system. On top of that season tickets could be reduced Bayern season ticket holders pay around £105 per season. As long as we had the right people running the club we could have money at the club little need for transfer money as the youth players would be the ones for the future. You don't hear of Bayern spending millions every tranfer window on players.
Thoughts from fellow bears.

Scotman

{Ed001's Note - you might not hear of it but Bayern are hated in Germany (and known as FC Hollywood there) because they consistently spend large sums on players, usually in a similar way to the Old Firm's modus operandis in Scotland. I mean in the old days when the pair of you would between take any player that looked any good off every other team in Scotland and so never gave them any chance of breaking your duopoly. Bayern do a similar thing in Germany, which has left them miles ahead of the rest. They did it this summer too, buying Dortmund's Hummels.}

1.) 03 Sep 2016 05:47:15
Bayern spent what €40 plus million on Renato Sanches, a 18 yo from Benfica, €35 mill on Hummels plus the rest. Come on of course they spend a lot of money. However I get the point you're making. Any fresh investment going forward is a must.

2.) 03 Sep 2016 07:52:41
50% fan ownership seems good in theory but we would get nothing done but argue as you can see on here some of the wild arsed views and hatred to our team would see conflict of views players being sacked daily until no one would go near us the experts on here would make Vladimir romanov look like the Dalai lama sometimes the only way forward is to have one or just a few to make a definitive decision even if you personally don't agree it is the only way to move forward rather than fighting over one issue for an eternity.

Watched video of Omar Bogle, big guy knows where the goal is, can score with both feet, 23 years old. Maybe worth a punt at £75,000 transfer fee. I realize he plays in lower division in England but some gems have come from there in the past.
Just a thought guys.

See on here about not having a left sided
Winger well Junior Hoilett fits the bill.
People go on about young McKay always
cutting inside because he's right footed. Don't
really agree with signing players that can
play in several positions, a player has his
natural role and should play that position.
If he or any player in the team are playing
well then moving to another position only
upsets the balance of the whole team imo.

Watched video on CB Nathen Cameron looks a big guy lots of pace very alert reads the game and doesn't shirk out of tackles. Could get him for about 250k and coming up to 25 years of age. Could be just what we need.

I'd take meekings not worse that what we have, also someone mentioned a Portugues CB Yohan Tavares who is unattached would snap him up to.

Agree with Nic_861, hope they find the real problem which stems from a back problem that MW never spoke about. All he said it was a calf issue.

KPBLUE, you need to remember if we qualify for european football there are 4 qualifying rounds to get the league stages. Do you honestly believe we can get past the qualifying rounds with the squad we have at Ibrox.

I've posted on here before, if we have a worldwide fan base of say 200,000, if each fan gave £5 a week for the club, that would raise 52 million per season. Help buy better players and clear the debt.
