To say that I'm excited about tomorrow's game is an understatement. Any ideas on a starting XI?

I'm going to go for:

Foderingham
Tav
Wilson
Kiernan
Waldo
Holt
Halliday
Windass
Forrester
Shaghorn
MOH

Think he'll give most of the championship winners a start in the first game.

1.) 15 Jul 2016 16:54:42
No Mackay?

2.) 15 Jul 2016 16:59:15
Kiernan has a bit of a knock so won't play but i would agree with most of that. except i would swap forrester with mckay and Hill for kiernan.

3.) 15 Jul 2016 17:13:47
I do like McKay but I'm not 100% convinced by him. His goal against the manks is undoubtedly class but I've been left wanting by his performances. He did well in the championship but does he have what it takes in the top flight? I'm unsure. I sit in enclosure right at the by line. Seen him every first half and found him to be a one trick pony. Want more from the wee man. Hope he steps up.

4.) 15 Jul 2016 17:16:00
Kiernan injured.

Hill for Kiernan
McKay for Forrester

Looking forward to seeing Windass and MOH shine.

5.) 15 Jul 2016 17:20:59
Gaffer said that we may see krancjar tomoz.

6.) 15 Jul 2016 17:43:01
Who is shaghorn?8.

7.) 15 Jul 2016 18:00:15
I'd have Miller in, assuming he's fit.

8.) 15 Jul 2016 18:06:13
MW Just said that NIko to get some game time tomorrow off the bench.

9.) 15 Jul 2016 20:12:05
MW said that windlass won't start the game.

10.) 15 Jul 2016 21:22:25
Mckay is our best player! What you on?

11.) 15 Jul 2016 21:33:30
Ridiculous for some to say that Mckay isn't convincing. he's the biggest asset we have. Along with Tierney, are the best young players in Scotland. He's going to develop into a top top star in the next few years. Was running on empty last few games of the season, as were most of the Team, due to lack of squad depth. Some of his performances were exceptional over the whole season though.

12.) 15 Jul 2016 21:42:11
Totally agree Chinabear!

13.) 15 Jul 2016 22:29:05
Barrie needs to start his vision and work rate is outstanding. Will push on even more now with competition for his place.

14.) 15 Jul 2016 23:34:10
He's got talent but needs to kick on this year. Going past someone once in a while would be a start!

15.) 16 Jul 2016 13:53:55
This is what I'm saying RFCinfinity. He doesn't seem to have the confidence to beat a player on the wing. I've noticed many a time that he takes the sting out of an attack by cutting inside far too much. Listen guys, I'm not doubting his talent and he's definitely one of Scotland's most promising prospects but for me, he isn't the finished article and I'd rather Harry and MOH in my starting squad today. I really hope the wee man steps up when he gets his chance.

16.) 16 Jul 2016 13:55:35
Saying that McKay is our best player is, in my opinion, ridiculous. Lee Wallace is our best player by a mile. Followed by Holt and Shaghorn then Bazza.

17.) 16 Jul 2016 20:25:51
You have just contradicted yourself again! If in your eyes he's not our best player but he's our 4th best. Why have in your strongest 11 MOH and Forrester ahead of him!

If you have an opinion stick by it. Don't contradict.

18.) 16 Jul 2016 20:58:47
Hardly a contradiction. I said I would rather see Harry and MOH starting today. I don't recall saying that was my "strongest XI'. It was just the XI I thought MW would start today. Stand by my opinions. Don't see how it's an issue for you.

NB: I reckon there's not much difference in ability in Bazza, MOH, Harry. Seen plenty of Bazza last season, I would like to see more of the other two.

19.) 16 Jul 2016 21:04:02
I didn't say he was our fourth best player either. Just that there are definetly 3 other player ahead of him for that title IMO

If your going to challenge an opinion, maybe you should read said opinion more carefully 😁.

20.) 16 Jul 2016 21:52:52
Lee Wallace is our best player by a mile, followed by holt waghorn then bazza.

Is that not 4th?

21.) 17 Jul 2016 01:22:13
Mckay is our best player no doubt.

22.) 17 Jul 2016 08:56:26
Cant believe people are saying moh forrester holt etc are better than mckay. Been watching Rangers for 40 years and he's our best prospect since Durrant imo. better than fergie hutton mccormack etc etc and he'll only get better. Quite often he'd beat a player and look up and there was nobody in the box. He'd have to end up playing it backwards to the oncoming midfielders. I know we want to play an attractive style of football but one thing that troubles me. We've so many good wide players both at full back and wingers but i don't see the point in them all, because we don't actually have a targetman. Waghorn n Miller are good finishers but wander all over the park. A striker who is strong in the air would add a terrific option.

23.) 17 Jul 2016 09:24:46
Chinabairn, I agree Mckay is our best player on his game, that my argument. That's his argument, I can't agree he's better than Barry Ferguson though. But again your entitled to your opinion, let's all agree to disagree, oohahhuistra! The good thing is we have so much talent middle to front now it's frightening, young and experience, and being at game yesterday yes Motherwell created chances early on. Teams will as we play so attacking but we never conceded and going forward we are very very good. 🏆🏆🏆.

24.) 17 Jul 2016 10:27:37
You're right scott. barry ferguson was a top player, but his brother Del was a far better player but too fond of a night out, and was lost to us. My point about Mckay, is if he kicks on he could turn out to be world class. so naturally quick n fit. just like durrant 30 years ago.

25.) 17 Jul 2016 11:28:38
I didn't literally mean 4th, just they guys are ahead of him in my book. Consistency wise. There's no doubting his talent though and I hope that he does kick on to become world class, for all of our sakes and Rangers. Fergie, for me, was far better but it's hard to compare them because they're different styles of players. Maybe I'm being too hard on wee McKay. One thing is, it's great to be having these discussions about talent again. Missed it.

26.) 17 Jul 2016 12:23:48
We agree on something. See we're getting their! 👍🏻👍🏻.

Slow news day. Seems like Ronaldo nearly signed for us back in 19-canteen. What again? It seems he's nearly signed for us as many times as we've won the league. 54 and counting.

OohAhHuistra

1.) 18 Jul 2016 15:50:33
I remember reading the same kind of scenario with Jean Luca Vialli (? )

2.) 18 Jul 2016 15:56:16
Aye I think I remember that one too. The Ronaldo story gets regurgitated every transfer window. They need to put that story to bed.

3.) 18 Jul 2016 17:20:10
Vialli was close, he was a close friend of Souness, Graeme said he was the best players he'd ever played with.

16 Jul 2016 21:48:01
Can I just stand up and applaud that flick from Waghorn today. WOW. Lovely touch, perfectly weighted through to Kenny, who then had a decent shout for a pen. More of that Waggers. Bravo sir.

New to this forum. Find it funny that profanities are changed to something less, eh, profane. My favourite so far is changing the word (rhymes with fheast) to 'person'. Hahahahaha

Aye maybe on the Selkirk forums they're just a 'person' but not here my friend. Not here.

Loving the fact the lad Dodoo is considering a permanent deal. Don't like the folk already talking about a "sell on fee". Jeez. Let the boy do a job for us first. I hope he scores a million goals and retires at rangers at the age of 50.

OohAhHuistra

1.) 15 Jul 2016 15:57:44
Here here! 2 million goals tho.

15 Jul 2016 12:05:16
With some of the incredible business completed in this transfer window, I'm composing a new song for Frank McP. I'll be singing it all season in the west enclosure, by myself or otherwise. It goes a little something like this:

Oh Frank McP, Oh Frank McP, Oh Frank McP, Oh Frank McP, Oh Frank McP you signed Joey, Oh Frank McP, Oh Frank McP etc etc.

OohAhHuistra

1.) 15 Jul 2016 12:44:15
Yep you'll be singing on your own!

2.) 15 Jul 2016 13:02:05
Lol keep trying buddy, the guy deserves a song.

3.) 15 Jul 2016 13:14:58
Guy deserves a song but not that one lol at least your trying huistra 😁.

4.) 15 Jul 2016 14:01:09
Oh a Huistra was better tho!

5.) 15 Jul 2016 15:30:41
Hahahah what about:

Oooooh Frank McP, your signings were a big surprise, no Cummings the person, fook yer HIVS, Barton's getting us 55.

Nah? Ok back to drawing board lol.

Chinabairn not only do I fully agree but it's 100% true. It amazes me that 3 people have disagreed with this statement. If you know football and watch games closely, it's as obvious as a turd in the snow. They CBs have no cover and are left exposed. The guys in front of them and beside are as much to blame as them but really it's MW style of football that's to blame. I for one don't care. I love this style of football and don't mind losing the goals as long as we win. I certainly won't be moaning and putting pressure on Rab and Danny if it transpires that they are the CBs for the rest of the season.

Tell me your joking? The guy was player of the season last year. Both club and championship player of the year. He could've easily jumped shipped when we were demoted, like the rest of the rhats (Davis excluded) . In my book he's one of the greatest. Not technically but overall. Love the guy. True gentleman in person too.

Seems that recently folk want to categorise a signing as 'signing of the decade' or 'best signing of the last ten years'. I don't get it. You know that wee signed Lee Wallace? What he lacks in the football department (not much) he makes up for with LOYALTY, leadership, work rate, fitness and let's not forget - that guy does not do walking away. Rangers legend. Easily 'signing of the decade' and maybe many decades to come. (IMO)

I think Rab and Danny are solid defenders who do a decent job under the circumstances. Two world class defenders would struggle to man a back line by themselves. For me, our week link is Tav. Never a defender. Rab is left all too often to cover RB and this stretches the CHs and leaves the defence open like an Amsterdam hooker. Don't get me wrong, CHs are by no means perfect. They need to work on set pieces and communication but MW asks a lot of them and I don't think two new cracking CHs would make any difference. It's our style of play. As long as our attackers are doing their job and scoring more than the opposition, I for one will be happy.

"I've never rated wavy, yes he has score a FEW goals but all of them are goals that your granny could have knocked in with her Zimmer frame"

Serial?

1. You don't know my granny
2. She's been dead for some time so scoring a goal would truly be a miracle
3. If your granny could score goals like Waggers against Motherwell in league cup and hivs last year then may ask what her current contract situation is? Think we could get her on a free? What would her wages be like? What's her temperament like? Don't worry if she's a hot head with talent because MW and DW will give her the TLC she needs to let her ability do the talking.

Thom, my word, when waggers scored the places was bouncing. That song is sensational. Shame he's injured because that was some buzz. I think we should sing it for anyone who scores and make it our goal song.

People moaning about lack of chances until Harry and MOH came on. I agree they offered something different and should've started but we scored (disallowed) and hit the post in the first half. Joey Barton had about 4 strikes on goal. Waggers had a few. Halliday had one. Plenty of chances. Another day and couple of them go in and we're flying. Was a good game, fair result. Smash Peterhead and take that confidence into Dundee game.

Fans SHOULD stay until the end. It's only 90mins man. Just wait until the final whistle. It really bugs me, you wouldn't walk out of a concert while a performer was playing their last song. I don't get it. It's disrespectful. I'm desperate for games and when they come, I want to savour every last minute. That's just me tho. The pub/ travel can wait.

With regards to singing. It's near impossible to sing for 90mins. Hats off to the lads that do. I sit near them and do my best. But sometimes I'm so fully immersed in the game, (with nerves most of the times) that I can't muster up a song. But again that's just me.

I thought kiernan had a decent game. People are far too hard on the lad. The worst player on that park today by a country mile was Niko. Hope he gets match fit soon. Joey Barton MOTM? Don't make me laugh, he was bang average at best. Tav was my MOTM today, I'm not his biggest fan in terms of his defensive play but today he showed a real improvement in that aspect of his game. Once again, the addition of Harry and MOH changed the tempo of the game in our favour. These lads have got to start the next game. Miller is a sub at best. Shame about shaghorn. Pure gutted for him. Let's give Dodoo and MOH a chance through the middle.

Biffo mate, they said favourite player, not manager. Super ally is a legend. Quality player. Not the greatest manager but he did a job not many others would do and under unworkable conditions. Remember he had no support, scouting etc was a joke. Frank McP doing the heavy lifting for MW. Cut Super Ally some slack. He loves this club just like us.
