Steven Gerrard. yes 100% agree that it's a massive risk for our club to take at this moment in time as he has no managerial experience. what he does have tho is a winning mentality, and a great understanding of the game at the highest level. And a point to prove.

Here's a question I've not seen asked. where does he go from us if he comes and under performs/ is a failure?

IF! he agrees to come and manage us. he knows he has to win and achieve success or else. he will never be a candidate for the Liverpool job, (the job he would die for)

In my opinion, he can only be good a appointment, Yes a risk. but for who? Rangers who have been stuck in the mud for the past 5 years or a new manager with the desire to become a premier league manager (Liverpool)

Mcdougall

1.) 26 Apr 2018 20:32:29
Which begs the question that if he refuses the job does that mean he doesn't have confidence in his abilities to turn our fortunes around?
I for one hope he comes and he is a success.

2.) 26 Apr 2018 20:36:24
im tottally split on gerrard coming, rangers of coarse are my first love but i'm a massive liverpool fan to and we need a proven manager but part of me thinks he could be a great appointment a born winner

I'm a rangers man, does this mean the club should sign me? I for one am sick to death of hearing this,

Alliances mean nothing to me, I'd rather have 11 technically great Roman Catholics in my team who grew up season ticket holders at parkhead than bog standard rangers fans, ability should always come first when it comes to representing Glasgow Rangers, ability should always be number 1 priority. I'm sure anyone with a Brain would agree also,

Time some fans got a grip and got out this, rangers men mentality because it blatantly hasn't worked in the previous 5 years!

Mcdougall

1.) 11 Jan 2018 08:25:42
Well said Mcdougall, look how much alliances meant in 2012 when one or two of the so called Rangers men walked away from us in our hour of need. We need young quality regardless of what team they supported growing up which we can then develop and hopefully sell on for a decent profit. Right now its the only buisness model we can adopt that will make us self sufficient.

2.) 11 Jan 2018 13:16:01
I see what your saying McDougall ability should come first of course and I have no issue with signing catholics, but we are not in a position to go out and sign first class ability so it comes down to average player vs average player who's a fan. Looking at the most successful clubs they have their own fans and ex players working at every level Juve, Bayern, Ajax etc. If we forget our history we might as well be a new club. There are obvious reasons why things haven't worked out in the last five years I don't think the Rangers men mentality was one of them. It worked for the previous 140 years and it certainly worked for Walter.

3.) 11 Jan 2018 13:58:37
I honestly don’t think fans wanting “Rangers men” has anything to do with religion. The dark days are in the past and rightfully so. As I truly think and hope most fans would agree with.

I’m 30 years old and the rangers we have had the last 5 years isn’t the one I have known the rest of my life. I grew up watching players give their all for the shirt, players who were hungry to succeed and players who were truly hurt and pi**ed off when we lost.

Look at novo, ricksen, prso or big ammo. All of them arrived at Ibrox with different backgrounds but all left true rangers men. It has nothing to do with religion but all to do with attitude and desire.

Sadly with the money we have at the moment and the money currently in the game, this sort of player is hard to get. So the logic in buying players who have supported the club and will naturally have a desire to thrive actually makes sense to me.

4.) 11 Jan 2018 15:54:56
Mentality and ability over allegiance.

However, it doesn't hurt to have some people who care at the club, as it is evident there were 2 or 3 brought in last summer and the season before who don't/ didn't.

I think we should just focus on the future and try to pull together as fans, it's constant greeting about something from our support, worse than ever due to social media. (Had we have been winning we wouldn't even be discussing this, everything is over analysed when a team are simply not good enough) .

5.) 12 Jan 2018 00:59:40
Ability, ambition and character is what we need, don’t know what all this rubbish about alliances is about.

6.) 12 Jan 2018 01:00:41
Get Mcdougall signed up he's a rangers man!

7.) 12 Jan 2018 01:10:48
Yet worked for the previous 145!

8.) 12 Jan 2018 01:17:29
OK, what if a chineese consortium buys celtic and desmond then buys Rangers and appoints lennon as manager and signs broon as captain is that still Rangers we are supporting? Rangers are more than a club.

People with short memories.

Kenny Miller kissing Celtic badge, scoring winners against rangers, hailed a hero now in some rangers fans eyes.

But. hate guys like McGregor, lafferty and naisy.

It's all about improving the squad me for, Charlie Adam had the boo boys up here also, he would stroll it as the league stands present day, someone tell me Herrera is better than lafferty? Pena better than naisy?

If players do a job, let's get behind them. IF THEY EVER WER TO RETURN!

Mcdougall

1.) 19 Dec 2017 15:27:56
Defo no C Adam far far too fat well have no pies left at ibrox clol

2.) 19 Dec 2017 15:38:53
I ain't ever cheered a miller goal since he wore the smell tic top an never will had choice then tic or gers again an went to smell tic

3.) 19 Dec 2017 16:22:38
Kaymer. What a ludicrous statement. You telling me you didn't cheer once when he scored 9 goals against Celtic including 5 at the piggery. what about the cup final winner against St Mirren when we were down to 9 men. I rarely comment here but you have just won bam of the year with that belter. Go get a life. Kenny Miller, whilst no longer in his prime, has shown more fight and desire than any of the current team. I for one am gutted that he has suffered what could turn out to be a career ending injury and hope to see him continue in football as a coach or manager one day.

4.) 19 Dec 2017 17:26:26
Kaymer . talk us thru what u did when Kenny scored against St Mirren. I've read some utter rubbish on here. . usually daily. but that beats the lot. If it were true, which it clearly isn't, then u would be one sad individual. Kenny Millers commitment and attitude has never been in doubt.

5.) 19 Dec 2017 18:42:37
I would’ve had Lafferty back. He’s doing well at hearts. I also thought he actually showed some class by not celebrating when he scored against us. Not to mention his celebrations against Celtic 😂 then you get guys like Broadfoot who acts like a clown at Ibrox. I’d have Naisy back as well. Who cares what they said. They’d get stuck in against Celtic which is something we’ve been badly missing against them recently

6.) 19 Dec 2017 19:00:38
Kaymer!
Bullsh!

7.) 19 Dec 2017 19:21:33
Never kissed the badge. Nonsense.

Kenny has done plenty for this football club, so much so I couldn’t care less he played for Celtic.

Is he not into double figures against the mhanky mob? Scored goals that brought home titles and cups.

I personally would have him in the hall of fame (he can have Davie Wiers spot) and in the coaching staff when he retires.

8.) 19 Dec 2017 19:52:28
I will always love kenny Miller. he's been a great servent for us. I also wish we signed big lafferty. we need winners something out squad lacks players who have won titles and cups our squad is majorly lacking in that department imo

9.) 19 Dec 2017 20:08:00
McDougall, Kenny Miller never kissed their badge. What a load of lies! The man has been a great servant to Rangers.

Don't see the issue with the Derek Mcinnes assistant situation.! Think some people are forgetting a certain Kenny McDowall he was the highest sought after coach in Scottish football at one point and we recruited him from the other side of the city, the man later went on to manage our club in the same capacity as Murty, think before we speak please, if the man comes to the club and does a job. great, we all succedd together, probably the same people who sing about jock stein who have an issue with the man or his religion, everyone forgets there greatest manager was. "one of us" get your head out the sand people and support your team, forget race religion and alliances, if it works and it's successful. Let's do it!

Mcdougall

1.) 06 Dec 2017 17:12:22
Kenny is a bluenose through and through

2.) 06 Dec 2017 17:39:09
this didn’t stop Celtic hiring him, or even better. him working for them and developing talent to beat the team he supports “through and through” what I’m saying is regardless of who u support. If it works and it’s successful then great, that should be the reasons behind us recruiting a new management team, not who the guy supports

3.) 06 Dec 2017 17:57:20
It is time we got our collective heads out of 1690! The only thing that matters is the talent of the individual.

4.) 06 Dec 2017 18:45:23
I was only stating a fact. Kenny McDowell is a bluenose 'through and through". Make of it what you will lol

I know I will get mixed reactions but. I think we started really well on Saturday, pressed hearts well and controlled the first period of the game. Team looked good as well as our shape, wasn't until the sending off the game opened up and hearts started to pass the ball better creating gaps allowing then there goals, which is to be expected as we played 70 mins with 10 men, I have no doubt what so ever of we had kept 11 men on the park on Saturday we would have comfortably won the game!

Mcdougall

1.) I agree with that aswell. for me paterson was lucky to stay on the park himself. for me hearts looked average, but steve smith, even though it looked soft, why slide in, yes close him down but stay on your feet, especially in the area of the park. only decision I disagreed with mcoist was taking off mclead, it should have been black or law for me at that stage of the game!!

2.) Boyblue:I can't stand the look of Ian Black in a Rangers shirt full stop, but MacLeods heart wasn't in it on Saturday
Not his type of game granted with the heavy tackles, but the boy was hiding most of the time he was on the park.

3.) Yeah gkk, mcleod didn't have one of his better games, I agree, but looking for any goals at that stage of the game when he was taken off, I think I would still have put my money on mcleod before black and law!!

4.) @2

Totally agree mate McLeod didn't fancy it on Saturday and it's clear that the boy isn't quite the superstar some people think he is. The boy has potential and has done well however this type of game is exactly what will happen week in week out in the top league and the boy clearly isn't ready for that standard yet

Funny story. from a friend. picked Arfield up after poty dance on Sunday night (he’s a taxi driver), then proceeded to take him to meet the rest of the players who had made there way to one up afterwards. straight from horses mouth. Arfield had choice of rangers and derby before coming back up north. he was all but signed for derby until rangers came in, said it was a move he couldn't not take. when a Club like rangers come callings it’s a once in a lifetime. he’s more than happy to end career here! so I would be happy to put my mortgage on him being here for the foreseeable future. which ofcourse is great news as he’s been excellent this season imo!

Moronic person? C'mon mate, grow up! The guy loves rangers and everything that we stand for. He is the only true rangers man left at the club, since day one he has had nothin but BS to deal with from the corruption of whyte, then green and also the whole of the Scottish fa and media, throughout all adversity the man has stood proud and defended our beloved club like no other. I for one will always regard the man as not only a true rangers man but also a Hero to every single fan in the terracing because of not only his contribution as a player, but his commitment, dedication and willingness to stand tall and fight for the club he loves, the current squad is capable of competing and winning 99% of the games against any opposition in the country, I don't care what anyone says, I would argue my point all day long!! it's not down to mccoist the results, the players are to blame, when you cross the white line it's your own self pride, courage, attitude and contribution to the game. So the players are the ones who need to take a good look at the selfs in the mirror! Not mccoist!
