Stewart Robertson suggested we are bringing in 3 players in the January window. Davis clearly is one, the other two remain up to the Gaffer. Lot of people suggesting Jones. I want to see a striker and perhaps looking to defence ahead of the summer for Worrall when he leaves and depending on McAulay's position. That said, we have Katic, and Dorrans, Murphy, Docherty to return. Holt, Dodoo, Pena, Alnwick, Herrera, Wallace hopefully out. We may be able to cash in on Fods who will only play if AM Gers injured and surely won't want to be a backup. Lots of room for speculation bit how good is the position compared to the last couple of years eh? Happy new year to you all.

1.) 04 Jan 2019 14:08:13
Davis, defoe, jones and apparently Kamara. that's 4 already?

2.) 04 Jan 2019 14:27:16
I think Jones and Kamara are pre contracts are they not? If so they won't join until summer.

3.) 04 Jan 2019 14:45:19
Jordan Jones would be a quality signing. Really hope we get him. Direct with pace and young.

4.) 04 Jan 2019 14:57:49
Would think if Kamara signs a pre-contract a minimal few would get him moved over now. Not sure about Jones though, depends how Killie view their chances of doing something this season, they might think they are better hanging on.

5.) 04 Jan 2019 14:58:23
Yes they are pre contacts, heard that we were going to try and arrange a compensation package with Kilmarnock so Jones is available straight away, although Steve Clark has said he would rather lose him in summer for nothing than let him leave in January for cash.

6.) 04 Jan 2019 17:36:37
If we want Jones then get him now. They are league rival who we play in 2 weeks. Give them 50k and take him now.

7.) 04 Jan 2019 17:55:59
I just hope jones isn’t another MOH. It’s all good having pace but when teams sit in with every man behind the ball then pace doesn’t matter.

8.) 04 Jan 2019 18:26:14
HMM guys on here hate Tavernier 8 assists love Jones 4 assists as my Yorkshire gran used to say "there's none so queer as folk" no I don't know what it means either but I've been able to sing Ilkley moor since i was 3.

9.) 04 Jan 2019 18:49:20
Love it blue Pete, in case you don't know they play different positions. Tavs job s to defend first and foremost.
However, more displays like Saturday will change opinion.

10.) 04 Jan 2019 19:05:04
C. F Bear - why would Killie hand him over now for £50k? Some folk here have no clue on the economics of football. What's £50k to them when he could be the difference between say a cup final and a higher league position? £250k maybe.

11.) 05 Jan 2019 01:07:20
My mate is the financial accountant for Killie. He says Jones is definitely staying with them until the summer. The owners have just sold QTS for close to £100m, they don’t need the money and are happy to keep him for remainder of season and let him walk in summer.

12.) 04 Jan 2019 14:15:32
Defoe could be one 😱.

20 Aug 2018 13:14:55
Daily Record reported that FC Ufa may not receive Visas in time and may have to forfeit the tie. Can't see that happening but can you imagine the reaction. Sporting Integrity inquest at the Home Office.

1.) 20 Aug 2018 13:58:24
I sense a full-page advert in a national newspaper coming.

2.) 20 Aug 2018 13:59:01

Loved my the way we are doing business. A few days ago we had never heard of Katic and then when it was revealed we were interested, he was off to Russia. 48 hours later he's here on a four year deal. I think we can expect more of this. I'm genuinely excited about the Steven Gerrard reign.

A good few to leave, more incoming and some of the existing players to up there game. I'm not going to make outlandish claims or say who we will beat. I just think our club and team is rising again. Let's stand together and return our club to the days of dignity and doing things the right way. #lets go.

1.) 13 Jun 2018 19:09:03
Long time since I’ve read a post on here that stirs me up and I believe it. God bless you mate. We’ve been getting it right for too long but the pendulum is swinging back. Bring them on.

let's GO!

2.) 13 Jun 2018 19:38:41
#rode

3.) 14 Jun 2018 00:26:47
Unless I’ve missed something, Katic is not going to Russia?

4.) 14 Jun 2018 05:33:27
Think comment about Katic going to Russia was referring to Spartak Moscow interest, not the World Cup!

5.) 14 Jun 2018 11:13:12
Thank you! Bit ambiguous that one!

21 Jun 2016 21:49:38
Mark Warburton confident of 3 more signings by the end of the week. I'd imagine Krancjar, Mariappa and either Vaughan or Bradshaw. Says he thinks we need 4 players in. Add a goalkeeper, (McGovern perhaps) to this and I'm absolutely delighted with the way the squad is shaping up.

LifelongGer

1.) 21 Jun 2016 22:19:56
So that's now 74 players you are signing at a cost of £96m that's great pmsfl.

2.) 21 Jun 2016 22:37:17
What happened to the Will Grigg rumour? If prefer to see him or Bradshaw to James Vaughan.

Happy with Windass, Crooks, Rossiter, Barton, Hill and the defender from Jamaica. Who is our cover for Wallace?

3.) 21 Jun 2016 23:05:41
I think hodson has been linked and can play both fullback positions. 3 close and 4 wanted but that was on top of kranjkar, so i'd say mariapa hodson and a st. Not sure about vaughan and bradshaws went quiet, think it might be a surprise maybe on loan and mcgovern after the euros.

4.) 21 Jun 2016 23:12:05
If Mariappa comes in I'm sure he can play across the whole back four if needed.

5.) 21 Jun 2016 23:08:05
Oh and glory hibs you obviously no nothing because if we signed all them plus what we have signed under mw so far itl be less than 2.5mill. Not bad eh?

6.) 21 Jun 2016 23:22:03
Glorhibs are you actually joking what's glorious about hibs bad enough the unwashed from East end on here now you's are crawling about back under yer rock.

7.) 21 Jun 2016 23:28:32
Haliday can play left back Teddy.

8.) 22 Jun 2016 00:26:10
Not enough height in the back line.

9.) 22 Jun 2016 01:30:11
Halliday is our cover at left back.

10.) 22 Jun 2016 00:27:56
Hibs boy who you signed? Neil Lennon? Absolutely brilliant to notch challenging for the premiership next year when Cummings and mcginn leave and Lennon gets found out to be a rubbish manager.

11.) 22 Jun 2016 01:53:57
Clint Hill also plays CB, LCB in a back 3, or LB. He will be our cover. And IF we sign Mariappa, he will be cover for right back as well!

12.) 22 Jun 2016 09:16:13
74 players for 96 million! sounds as if our Leith counterpart has got nothing to look at on his own clubs page so has to come on to our page and spout constant drivel!

13.) 22 Jun 2016 09:27:22
Wearerangers makes a very good point. Height in our back line is a major issue. We couldn't defend properly against high balls last season and now we are signing 5'10 centre backs? I am happy with the way things are going just now with regards to recruitment but this deffinelty has me questioning MW defensive side of his tactics.

29 Apr 2016 23:39:22
I believe we are interested in Hamilton Accies midfielder Greg Docherty. 19 years old and has featured this season. Was motm in the recent u20 game against us which MW attended. This is a player for the medium term and I am told there is strong interest. Not that it changes anything but he's also a huge Rangers fan.

LifelongGer

1.) 30 Apr 2016 07:44:38
I can assure you he certainly is not a Rangers fan.

2.) 30 Apr 2016 10:06:56
Can you?

3.) 30 Apr 2016 19:48:18
Alby1212, i can assure you he certainly isn't as he was in the year above me at school, season ticket holder and staunch blue nose. I'm intrigued as to why you would make such an assured accusation when you clearly aren't assured.

4.) 30 Apr 2016 23:34:15
I played in Greg's team at Accies, he most definitely is a Rangers fan. Also would be a good signing, fantastic drive and ability on the ball.

Not a rumour however I'd like to see Oli McBurnie sign for us. Him and Cummings up front would offer us more options. I see him in the papers today and is the right age and a recent internationalist who would fit the profile for me. Looking forward to the transfer window opening.

LifelongGer

1.) 10 May 2018 16:53:58
Wouldn’t touch Oli McBurnie with a barge poll! Not good enough and we can’t sign him as he’s a Gers fan? 🇬🇧🇬🇧

2.) 10 May 2018 17:09:31
Who would you like us to sign yately

3.) 10 May 2018 17:13:56
With the arrival of Gerrard, if we started next season with cummings and mcburnie I would be totally pi$$ed off!

4.) 10 May 2018 17:26:41
Strike force of them 2 would see us finish 4th. Terrible idea. don't want either of them at ibrox to be honest. Cummings puts in very little effort when he plays. If your lazy u need to back it up with being prolific. That he is not.

5.) 10 May 2018 17:34:10
Could work. Big target man and a guy who can finish given a chance. The two of them might just work out together plus they are both early 20’s. Under the right guidance they could develop well.

6.) 10 May 2018 19:50:44
McBurnie is excatly what we need, big strong with a great work rate, I think he’ll stay at Swansea now they’re relegated.

07 May 2018 13:59:31
So, who wants to step up first and admit they just make things up. Honestly, some of the nonsense spouted here is beyond belief. Let's be having you then. 🙄.

U17s 2-0 up against Celtic in the Glasgow Cup Final. Get them all playing v Killie at the weekend. Skill, effort, desire and heart all in show tonight.

LifelongGer

1.) 30 Apr 2018 19:25:09
Lifelongger u having a laugh, five off them are fifteen

2.) 30 Apr 2018 19:28:28
Errrrr yesssss. that was kind of my point.

3.) 30 Apr 2018 21:28:44
Lifelong, ok, will give u that, hopefully we see two or three progressing in time

4.) 30 Apr 2018 22:33:26
It would be great to see some academy boys move through in time. Nice to watch that tonight, hope they can kick on and be our next generation.

5.) 01 May 2018 01:15:12
Still would be rediculous playing them v killie tho to be fair

6.) 01 May 2018 06:48:20
Again, some irony. 🙄

15 Apr 2018 18:34:56
Horrible today. Just back from Hampden and still numb. No pass marks from anyone in the squad. Cummings was a waste of time if we can't play him. I don't want Murty sacked but I want him immediately removed from first team duties and revert to where he was. He can then decide if he wants to stay. The Board must speak to the fans and tell us what they can if they want all the renewals. I'll absolutely renew but not until I've heard some sort of plan. Hate saying it but well done to Celtic. They were miles ahead of us in every position and turned up wanting to win whereas we looked scared. Major clear out required again and back to square one. Very sore one to take today.

31 Mar 2018 17:53:03
Was at the game today. Cannot see what Windass brings to the team. We need guys who will fight for 90 minutes. Alves is only interested in a back pass to the goalkeeper. Martin too shaky and shouldn't be retained. Morelos did well holding the ball up but is immature in his decision making typified with his snatch at goal in the late stages when he could have set up Cummings. Good to see Dorrans back and McCrorie close. Disappointed to see us bullied again. For me, Pena, Herrera, Windass, Alves, Martin, Halliday, Wallace, Dalcio, Rossiter, Miller, Hodson are the leavers wherever we can. Those out of contract, loaners or sellable must leave. Morelos can go for anything north of £4m given we paid £1m and owe a 10% sell on to his former club. I have no insider rumours on who should come in but I'd like Cummings and Murphy confirmed asap and bring in two first team ready Central Defenders, a proven striker and another player capable of playing behind a front two. We can make huge savings by getting rid of the above and look at bringing through some of the youth with a couple of proven players. Now is the time to look at Barjonas, Hardie, Wilson, Atakayi and so on with decisions on whether to keep/ sell/ loan. As for the manager, it isn't Murty but neither is it De Boer. Other than Clarke, I can't think of a realistic, affordable alternative and we've had too many false dawns. Just my thoughts as a frustrated fan. Thoughts welcomed.

LifelongGer

1.) 31 Mar 2018 18:34:17
Oh and Cardoso can go too!

2.) 31 Mar 2018 22:21:31
Lifelonger, so 11 can go? Where do Rangers get the money to replace them?

3.) 01 Apr 2018 00:13:13
Halliday, Wallace and maybe even Rossiter will still be here next season as we require a whole squad of players and can't buy 7 or 8 as well as the likes of Murphy and Cummings. Hardie is now playing at his level, while Florida in January showed Atakayi isn't close to the first team yet. Barjonas isn't progressing the way we had hoped and neither is Beerman, but this lad Middleton looks like he could step up. As for the next manager, it could well be de Boer, according to a former player, a Dutch player I know, who reckons he's already been approached and was also approached before the McInnes fiasco, but didn't want to start in the middle of a season. Rumours? Of course, that's what people talking to people brings. Oh, and as for Alves, two thirds of his passes today went forward (watch it) and he was also trying to cover for an awful partner in Martin. Wasn't the worst by a long chalk, that's Windass despite what the stats 'experts' might say. He's just rotten.

4.) 01 Apr 2018 00:19:56
We can generate some transfer fees. We can also make significant wage savings. We can also promote some youths who must be better going by everything I read on here. 3 or 4 in supplemented by our top youngsters like Middleton, Atakayi and so forth. We won’t miss Wallace, Pena, Herrera, Dalcio, Alves or Hodson. We have McCrorie, Jack, Dorrans incoming. Simply my opinion.

5.) 01 Apr 2018 00:43:18
Lifelonger. jesus wept. Barjonas, Hardie, Wilson, Atakayi are you on the gin? Seriously that is far from the answer!

6.) 01 Apr 2018 10:18:00
Not saying it’s the answer however we either play these guys or they’re not good enough and they go. I’ve not seen anything from them to suggest they are or aren’t good enough but why retain them if not? I’ve given a fairly lengthy opinion. You don’t need to agree. But as usual on this ‘forum’, very few people offer realistic solutions, instead sticking in ridiculous “I’m hearing xxx” or otherwise. My point is that we need to clear more dross, buy first whatever team ready players we can afford and supplement the squad with the best prospects we have. I don’t think that’s particularly far fetched but I’m keen to hear your solution. Happy Easter.

I think that’s how it works. It goes to an agency company who manufacture and then a brand added, presumably for a fee. Most kits made in the Far East/ Asia regardless but Nike Adidas have both greater buying power and minimum orders which may put clubs/ retailers off. I’m told Umbro will be the likely badge on a kit made by someone else. Seemingly happens a lot but not with Nike, Adidas etc who are the market leaders for quality and so on.

I have a pretty direct source on this. From what I was told, it’s a licensing deal with the kits being made by a third party and badged up as Umbro. It’s not a case of Nike or Adidas signing up to provide kit, more complicated than that apparently. definitely looks like an Umbro branded top though. Some of them were decent before and if we get a better commercial deal and associated income then fine by me. Selfishly, I’d love a Nike kit but that’s just my brand loyalty as a runner!

b. Michael O'Halloran
c. Whoever it turns out to be!

Thanks ED!
