GJD. Thanks for picking that out. My info was 3.5k more per week. And the extention making it a 3year contract.

Contract he signed when they bought him was 3k a week. So 6.5k. They can’t go any higher.

Gordon is their top earner at around 4.5k.

They can’t match what we can offer but they can set their price.

All I’ve heard is they are expecting a bid from us. But only because everyone is expecting us to bid.

No contact between the clubs has taken place.

Naiseys cousin reckons 3.5m with add ons of up to 1m will be enough.

I really thought the captain would be on atleast £8000 a week but I'm forgetting about Gordon, is Gordon still official captain or did Naismith change it?

2.) 20 Jan 2024 08:16:57
Good info but we won't pay another SPFL club that imo. Or anyone in this window that money.

3.) 20 Jan 2024 08:51:48
3ould rather pay the extra million for miovski from Aberdeen just as good in front of goal but overall game is better. I don't see the fascination with shankland. Great scorer for hearts but we're not hearts.

4.) 20 Jan 2024 09:11:59
Boyd great scorer for Killie but we're not Killie. That's right he was a great scorer for us too?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️.

5.) 20 Jan 2024 09:13:55
Shanklands value realistically is 2-2.5m. no club (even in the silly leagues down south) is going to pay more than that for a guy that's only done it in Scotland, and is about to turn 29. I like him, and think he'd improve the squad, but he'll have next to no resale value, so 2&2.5m and no more for me.

6.) 20 Jan 2024 09:20:12
Bellshill I think the fact that shankland is Scottish is the thing that sways it between strikers in our league, we will be targeting Scottish home grown players I'm led to believe.

7.) 20 Jan 2024 10:35:22
Bella bill miovski of her parts of game not great he’s younger an more time to work on it though

I’d also prefer miovski to shankland on age and potential alone.

8.) 20 Jan 2024 10:36:09
Gjd83 normally I’d agree but we need to be targeting Scottish players when their younger.

9.) 20 Jan 2024 10:42:27
Hypothetical if say shanks came in and swung the league our way n got us into the champs league spot folk would be saying he's worth I'd all day long, so you can't resale him
But we are looking too win the league n if he scores the goals too do that then he's worth it all day long if it gets us a cracking at champs league

We need too win the domestic league first, he's by far a player who will help us do this
Top goal scorer he will be as good if not better for us.

10.) 20 Jan 2024 10:55:46
I'm totally with you on that gofor, I actually think that's the part that's holding me back with wanting to pay out £4/ 5 million on shankland I feel it's a tad inflated for his age, if he was 24 it would easier for me but I think he's reached his maximum price sale now, only my opinion but will be all down the 0's after the end of his contract or his next move but his goals and experience now may well be worth the outlay if it gets us the league but no one can say for certain that's the gamble.

11.) 20 Jan 2024 10:57:35
Miovski will be offski to another team, and it won't be Rangers ever.
And Hamshankland isn't coming, he never was, leave him at hearts, he is on there level, Tav has scored more goals in his career than Shonkyshank, Golas at 1 club predict nothing at another, we have all seen it time and time again.

If we want to tear Celtic done a peg or 3 and maintain that level
Neither of those guys are the way forward.

I want to see neither in a Rangers strip.

Both are Brendan rodgers level signings.

Clement is miles ahead of rodgers on every level.

Are we not keen to build a european level squad that can tear the league apart, or would you like a league level squad that get torn apart in europe?

12.) 20 Jan 2024 11:02:04
Target up and coming Scottish talent, is the way forward for home grown talent, those players are clearly around, so let's make that part of our new recruitment policy, we have the training academy and coaches to develop them into club stars.
Starting with Bailey Rice, now that lad is a genuine young talent and will only get better and better with the right guidance and support.

13.) 20 Jan 2024 11:05:09
Watched most of PC press conferences and have never heard him asked directly about Shankland, certainly been asked repeatedly about all the other rumours, maybe they have been warned to zip it?

14.) 20 Jan 2024 11:55:43
Bluedreamer what if we sign shanks and he doesn’t swing the title our way?

15.) 20 Jan 2024 13:53:41
Shankland would 100% score goals for us, hearts are garbage, they create very little actual chances, watching them now against Spartans, their main crestive players (arguably) forrest, vargas, oda all playing, creating nothing, Hearts will struggle big time if Shankland leaves.

16.) 20 Jan 2024 19:36:17
Laudruphagi not saying he is going to rangers just saying I’d prefer him over shankland.

17.) 20 Jan 2024 22:28:01
I know Gofur mate, was just airing an opinion on both, Miovski v Shankland, it's Miovski aw day long, has way mre potential than shanks, and can leave a defence standing with his pace.

19 Jan 2024 22:24:55
Hi bears.

Don’t post on here much as I see the nightmare folk get for passing on what they hear but as the shankland situation is such a huge talking point I just want to pass on what I’ve heard about it.

I went to school with Steven Naismith's cousin and asked him if he knows anything.

He says that Steven obviously wants him to stay but is on Lawrence’s side if he wants to come to us.

We have made no offer. But Lawrence is desperate for it to come and naisey. As much as he burnt his bridges with us. Is encouraging of the move if the clubs can work it out.

Thoughts are rangers think as the time ticks on hearts will lower their price.

Contract on the table for shankland is around 3.5k a week and an 18months extention.

Huistra2

1.) 19 Jan 2024 22:55:46
Naismiths cousin from around Stewarton area?

2.) 19 Jan 2024 22:57:28
Thanks for the info mate. Get the hard hat on.

3.) 19 Jan 2024 23:45:11
In all honesty I thought he would be on more than that at hearts just now before an extension
I obviously know nothing of their budgets and how much they pay players
I’d say if he came to us he’s going to be trebling quadruple that pay straight away I would imagine
What a jump it would be I’m actually very surprised by that I know our budgets are way above the rest etc
But that’s some jump I would think on his wage coming To us then if he does well he could renegotiate that wage not bad going if you can get it lol

anyone think that with so much talk and press coverage around shankland now that even if club wasn’t or hasn’t been interested in first place given how much chat it has started especially amongst us Rangers fans and from what I read see and hear across a lot of platforms most of it’s safe to say would give him a chance
Would the club pick up on this and then possibly have a proper discussion about it
Or do they just stick to the targets they prefer whether fans want them or not
I’d like to assume on some level they take on our views at times maybe not all the time. But when a player can cause such a stir and chat surely they must look at it
What’s everyone thoughts?

4.) 20 Jan 2024 00:11:26
? we play our youth players more think Lowry is on double that he will be pushing for a move bet we would pay him over 10k a week.

5.) 20 Jan 2024 00:27:08
I'd be absolutely astonished if the captain and top goal scorer at hearts was on £3500 a week, I know absolutely nothing in regards to player wages but what is take from the rumour is he's been offered £3500 more on his wages and the 18 month extension, but i could be completely wrong, i would bet a significant amount of money on it tho that Lawrence shankland is not on £3500 a week.

6.) 20 Jan 2024 00:38:40
Pretty sure Shankland will be on around £3k just now so probably looking around 5 or 6 with the new contract offer.

If we go for him I could see us offering him around £12k a week.

7.) 20 Jan 2024 01:49:43
Hes been offered hearts all time record wage which will be about 7-8k.

8.) 20 Jan 2024 04:58:57
GJD she is on 3k a week that is just his basic he will get bonuses etc….

9.) 20 Jan 2024 09:15:36
To think we gave Roofe 35k a week contract. Absolutely mental what some of our players are on.

10.) 20 Jan 2024 10:44:00
As I said before if shankland is smart he will knock back hearts offer and wait for next season when rangers can offer a reduced fee.

16 May 2023 14:54:49
John27 you heard anything about the training ground being closed for souness today?

Huistra2

1.) 16 May 2023 15:21:59
No, but first team off till tomorrow and academy play Celt at 1600.
Normal to be closed when we play them.

2.) 16 May 2023 16:10:25
Souness spotted at Murray Park this morning. Five SUV's entered. All board members in attendance allegedly. Souness heading a takeover bid hence all the movement and departures at board level.

3.) 16 May 2023 16:20:09
I seen this rumour on Facebook and I just honestly think it's been one of them starting a rumour lol apparently every share holder has been offered money to leave and the takeover is happening and sounness is coming in as DOF.

4.) 16 May 2023 16:26:40
This sounds bad usually when a consortium drafts an ex player it's because they want to get people to trust them instead of being open and transparent.

Not good if you ask me.

5.) 16 May 2023 16:35:03
A full takeover and you'd have seen large volume of shares being traded by now can't see it.

6.) 16 May 2023 17:25:51
Gofor they would use sourness as he has great knowledge of our club, support and our game. That's not something we shouldn't trust for me. That's a group of investors getting the full picture of our club from 1 of our own. Souness is no fool and knows how to run a club from top to bottom.
I personally don't think there will be someone buying a controlling share of our club as there would be too many moving parts. They would need to buy out Park, King. And others. Plus there woud be movement in our share price and ownership as Cantwell said.

7.) 16 May 2023 17:58:01
Not sure souness has great knowledge off our club left 32 years ago.

8.) 16 May 2023 17:59:31
Must have forgot me then. Nobody asking for my shares LOL.

9.) 16 May 2023 18:38:19
Back in the dark days, was Souness not part of Brian Kennedys bid to buy the club?

Not saying Kennedy is in anyway involved in the current rumours - but if he was I'd be happy with that.

10.) 16 May 2023 19:11:25
Me too fifepl ?.

29 Dec 2022 21:20:08
Hello bears and bearettes. Heard a wee rumour regarding billy gilmour. Obviously there has been no approach from the club but I’m sure everyone understands his connection to the club and folk near to him and the family will have asked the question. Heard from a friend of the Gilmour’s that they think it can’t work because if we loan him for 6 months and goes well we can’t afford to make it permanent so they fear he will be looked at as some kind of traitor for not staying at a price we can afford. And if it doesn’t go well he would be done in the epl and rangers wouldn’t want him either.

Makes a lot of sense.

Huistra2

1.) 29 Dec 2022 22:45:27
He's done in the English Premier league totally over rated thought he was going rip it up in England career stalled he won't go to a bigger club than rangers.

2.) 30 dec 2022 02:36:14
he or his family told you all that,

eb, he’s far from done, talking nonsense.

3.) 30 Dec 2022 09:01:05
Spot on East Belfast flopped massively at Norwich and Brighton.

4.) 30 Dec 2022 09:46:55
Gilmour has undoubted talent, a great football brain and tries to be progressive with forward passes- unfortunately like most talent who leave our league for big cash he is out our financial structure unless he takes large pay cut.
We should be looking for alternative Billy Gilmour type talent from all the globe over that we can develop and make cash from and not going other way to pay over the odds for players who seek the EPL holy grail and then we believe we can get them back because they are/ have been Rangers fans.

5.) 30 Dec 2022 12:24:06
In all seriousness, Billy probably wouldn't have Scotland caps etc if he hadn't left. Our track record of developing youth is pretty abysmal. Hopefully getting better and players like Lowry get a prolonged run.

6.) 30 Dec 2022 13:11:05
I've always wanted to see Gilmour go to Spain to play he would flourish over there. Not for us tho.

7.) 30 dec 2022 16:35:02
band that’s exactly what he’s suited too, he’s have a very successful career soon as he moves abroad, like the boy gauld.

Buzz it’s Bobby firmino. He was blown away by ibrox and Beale has known him for a long time. That’s the experience he was talking about. Defoe type signing we all thought would never happen.

Huistra2

1.) 11 Jun 2023 07:01:08
Would be over the moon with this news, but let's get real that ain't happening.

2.) 11 Jun 2023 07:18:59
Would be ecstatic if we had even the slightest wee chance of signing bobby firmino, but it ain't happening imo Huistra2?.

3.) 11 Jun 2023 13:43:23
If this did happen, I'll run naked from one end of Sauchiehall St, to the other. Both are never happening! Absolute single fish like this is just embarrassing!

15 Jan 2020 21:05:23
Hello bears n bearettes. Not been on in a while. So all the best to all for the coming year.

Just a quick point. I see murph is heading to burton albion. I wish him all the best there he's had a hard time of it since his move to us.

And this is what got me thinking. Its bloody hard to play for rangers. It takes so much to deserve that jersey. So i just want to give a massive thanks and well done to the boys that are on the park making us great again. Its a huge job and they are doing us proud and the great thing is that the players who find the royal blue a bit heavy are being coached properly and coming good or found out and shown the door.

The way it always was at ibrox.

So just a huge thanks to ALL the staff at ibrox for theIr hard work to get things put right.

I must mention the manager before i go. I know he hasn't won a thing yet. but he will. He won't leave until he does. Trust me. Even if liverpool come knocking.

He won't leave untill he's fulfilled that goal. He knows Liverpool will always be there.

For him leaving rangers without lifting the league is a failure. So #55 is near.

Thanks for reading.

Huistra2

1.) 16 Jan 2020 04:23:26
CHANT - Are you dave king in device lol. Keep up the good work ibrox staff!

I am an avid reader of this page. And i want to address the constant agro that goes on with people shooting down posts. And when that happens, people sticking up for the fact its a rumours page. As they should. I saw on here first that stevie g was in line to be our manager. I told my mate and he bet me his guitar it was bull. Strat Deluxe in Olympic White for anyone in the know.

Anyway, nice guitar. He obviously lost that bet. And obviously, i never took the guitar. But it shows that the unbelievable can happen and any noise we hear is worth sharing and should be shared without scrutiny. Some of the shooting down is harsh and will put people off passing on what they have heard. Which results in less for all of us that come on here to read. So for once and for all stop slating folk for posting what they hear. Or soon enough there will be no one posting to slate.

4.) 12 Jul 2019 13:49:44
If your "rumour" deserves to be shot down then it will. People need to stop being snowflakes and taking offence at every given chance.

5.) 12 Jul 2019 19:08:07

Gregg stewart will surprise a few nay sayers on here. Mark my words.

Huistra2

1.) 14 Jun 2019 12:45:00
He already has, mate.

2.) 14 Jun 2019 13:06:04
He has surprised me by proving you can be mediocre at best and still get a contract at Rangers . honestly thought those days were gone at our club .

3.) 14 Jun 2019 18:06:16
Hi Bears new on here but a long time follower. A lot of negative posts on the free signings we have made to date. With the emphasis on “free”. No one really knows what SG and my have in mind For the quality signing which will be first team starters. The quality signing will be when we spend the money. Patience is the key word transfer window is only open!

4.) 15 Jun 2019 08:57:02
Give Greg a chance Stevie G sees something.

24 May 2019 15:48:43
Ed could you put up a poll asking us bears if they would be in favour of bringing back the 3 foreigners rule. And pair it with a 3 u21 rule. So only thhree forigners on the park at any one time and 3 under 21s in the 18.

Huistra2

{Ed033's Note -

Old Rules Poll

1.) 24 May 2019 17:21:28
Naw fk that.

2.) 24 May 2019 17:48:18
If Scotland were doing it in isolation then we would only be doing it to improve the national side and therefore players from NI, Wales and England would also be classed as foreigners. We would really struggle to put out a decent side.

But if the rest of Europe were doing the same then I think it would be great, it would take the EPL down more than a few notches! In fact probably on a level playing field with ourselves.

3.) 24 May 2019 22:06:39
It would force countries to seriously develop their youngsters, buying a team of top multi country internationals would stop. The good youth policy countries would thrive, bring it on.

4.) 24 May 2019 23:26:53
Theres far too much money involved i'm football nowadays for that rule to come back in. Sky and bt don't pay the money they do to watch teams bring through youth. They big dollars for teams that have ronaldo, messi, out own andy halliday ( future ballon dor winner ) . All kiddin aside sky wouldn't allow this it would kill our game end of.

5.) 25 May 2019 07:28:08
And i'm sure it's a breach of human rights or something? Was that not how the rule changed in the first place?

6.) 25 May 2019 11:02:05
Player would go to court like bosman did, it would seriously restrict trade and players ability to earn. Don't think it's a bad idea, but it would never happen now. Money has ruined football.

Aimlessly following on. Jesus joanie. For one we are all aimlessly following on. That’s why we get our wee thumbs going on this site. I’m just pointing out to our man Neptune that the men behind the science at ibrox are tryin there level best to improve our club. That is a fact. why wouldn’t they. It’s the naivety in some of these posts that made me bite. The folk comin on here sayin the board are sitting with their fingers up the a&#e driving our club into the ground probably couldn’t run a minoj. So I put this to you alyernawsbaws stop the greetin and start living the real world and aimlessly follow on. You might find you’ll actually enjoy it again.

Sheeplike? What in God’s name does that mean. Because I understand how a club in our position in this financial climate works and you can’t get your head around the fact that we can’t throw any more money away because the papers say we should makes me like a sheep. Do you mean docile and a bit fluffy or are you saying I’m an Aberdeen fan. I’m sorry if I don’t get what you mean but I do think you should start worrying less about the board and more about the way you articulate yourself (that means how ye act n that know? ) . Sheeplike. 🤷‍♂️

Poseidon I think you’ve been under water too long.
Why should the club tell the fans the ins and outs of a million pound plus investment as it’s happening. Stop reading the dross spouted by leeches trying to sell papers. They will create a multitude of different scenarios so that tomorrow’s paper sells the same as yesterday’s. The two club have came to a deal that suits both. The only time the public will or should know the details of that buisness transaction is when it’s done. Which is exactly what happened. Your belly is rumbling because you think it should have been done this way or that. But that was fed to you mate. If there was no media input and it came out that he has signed on the terms he has you would say that it was a good bit of buisness handled well. My point. The crap you read is not what’s actually going on. Don’t believe the spin ma man. It’s all tom kite!

Der-goalie I don’t understand your comment there! I’m sure that no one that knows you would ever say that you were not a rangers man! So why isn’t DM. You are sayin you don’t know why he is bein made out to be a rangers man because he only worked for the club for 5 years of his career? Surly what makes us all rangers men is our love for the club. Do you know DM personally to be able to say he is not a fan? I’m sure what make a rangers man is a person that grew up supporting our club regardless of their occupation. Why does actually working for our club for 5 years disqualify him as a rangers man in your eyes mate? How many years did u work at ibrox?

Imo shankland is a no brainer. Granted the step up is a big one but what he has can't be taught. The next level for him would come from the coaching. Training and acces to experiece he would get at ibrox. If he can't cut it he wouldn't be the first. But that could be said for a 5-10m signing if we brought one in. Worth giving him the chance.

That’s a tough one. But realistically as the league is not in our hands (even if we beat them twice we are relying on other results) I would say the semi and gives us a great chance of our first top flight silverware in too long mate. 55 will keep for one more year. The rangers are coming my man.

Totally understand your point but I think the continuity in the team helps the boys gel quickly and that has been the most Impressive think murty has achieved. getting the 11 playing very well in large spells together. If the same formation can beat Ayr and Celtic there’s no need to upset that harmony I reckon.

Martin would walk into the Portugal squad. Lol

Good point mate but he’s injured and will obviously need to work to get fit and back in the team and if Martin is playin well and keeping clean sheets when he does get fit he will be an understudy until such times as he can dislodge Martin or his partner. A return to fitness does not and should not secure him or anyone else an automatic place . so aye. Understudy. 😉
