Not sure how much truth is in it as it's the first I've seen the name linked with us but apparently we are looking to loan Salvador Agra, Portuguese winger who has just joined benfica, however the signing was something to do with a club owing them money so they don't want to keep the player and are trying to loan him out, don't know much about him other than he is very fast and seems to have had a good few seasons in the Portuguese league in the past few years

Rangers to reportedly make an increased offer in a bid to sign 16 year old Matthew Knox from Livingston. Gers bid £75k earlier in the window but Livingston want as much as £150k for him.

GM_rfc72

1.) 01 Jul 2016 13:37:27
This is a deal we need to push through. The lad has been invited to train with a lot of top English sides so he must have something about him. £150k I suppose is a lot of money for a 16 year old from Livingston who's only played a few games but if he reaches his potential he could make us millions.

2.) 01 Jul 2016 13:45:01
Well Livingston start back on Monday so things may pick up, the reason I know my son is there.

3.) 01 Jul 2016 13:46:34
defo a risk worth taking I think.

4.) 01 Jul 2016 15:30:41
If he's that good pay the fee. Could be worth millions in future anyway and under warburton he'll definitely improve.

5.) 01 Jul 2016 17:17:35
Invest for the future that what i say, by all accounts this young lad has a lot of potential and is what we should be striving for the best young talent in scotland mb dw dk get this one done .

6.) 01 Jul 2016 16:35:01
I am told that a bid may be coming in tonight from an English championship club for Knox, possibly just over 200k with add ons. I would like us to get a bid in smartish and hijack this other bid if true.

7.) 01 Jul 2016 17:09:40
Definitely it's not as if we are spending millions on his, just maybe smashing open the piggy bank.

Definitely come here and develop then punt in 6/ 7 years for millions or stay and become a legend. You never know.

8.) 01 Jul 2016 19:43:50
£150k is not a risk at all, well worth it, boy could go for plenty, pretty sure the dark side wouldn't hesitate, and of they take him we will be slaughtered.

9.) 01 Jul 2016 19:08:08
The boys definitely got talent and well worth a gamble in my opinion.

10.) 01 Jul 2016 20:21:36
Surely we should be on to livi with 100k upfront and let the boy stay there another season even give them a few of our young talent for a season loan ie Thompson Murdoch Walsh. what do you think bears.

11.) 01 Jul 2016 22:05:14
Not a lot of money for someone with his potential. probably less in real terms than we paid for Baxter!

12.) 02 Jul 2016 09:52:47
Rotherham in for the boys Bradshaw and Knox!

13.) 03 Jul 2016 09:26:09
Neither will go anywhere near Rotheram.

20 Jun 2016 09:10:57
Adrian Mariappa seems to be earner tons next main target but apparently a wage cut that he'd have to take is the only stumbling block, however MW is hoping that a reunion with him will persuade him. The two worked together at watford.

GM_rfc72

1.) 20 Jun 2016 09:56:40
What is earner tons?

2.) 20 Jun 2016 10:15:25
Warburtons.

3.) 20 Jun 2016 10:51:33
gotta hate that auto correct lol!

Think we will get his after we land kranjcar and that will be a great signing mariappa will be the best defender in the league.

4.) 20 Jun 2016 11:20:09
Marriapa and krancjar, ball back on loan and decent striker and it will be really good summers business.

5.) 20 Jun 2016 11:57:08
When his contract expires he will be earning £0 per week so anything we offer him will be a rise on that.

6.) 20 Jun 2016 12:47:09
W need this deal to go thru, as James Stirling said, will be far and away the best defender in the league.

7.) 20 Jun 2016 13:01:56
Definitely the best defender in the league it's getting him to sign there lots of money down south if he does sign will be a big statement from him and a shroud move by us it's seems warbs and mc p have a bit of bottle and baws about the players they go after hope this continues and a big name striker is next who will score 30 plus and a keeper.

01 Jun 2016 23:48:13
Just heard we are linked with kolo Toure, apparently heading up to ibrox for talks. Not sure how much truth in it but if we could get him on decent wages would definitely welcome him!

What's everyone's problem with this new keeper coming in? Gilks wanted first team football but wasn't better than Wes? So we are bringing in a young cheap back up? Seriously some people need to get a grip we need depth in the squad not every signing has to be a marquee one

GM_rfc72

1.) 28 Jan 2017 12:55:11
My problem is not with the player. By all accounts he's a decent keeper and is in good form. My point was, do we need a keeper who won't get a game? We may as well bring kelly back and use him as back up for Wes. Also the reported manner in which rangers are trying to pay the fee in instalments. It's just embarrassing for the fans (if true) . If we don't have any cash then promote youth.
It seems every week our clubs name gets dragged through the press for stupid things and a lot of it is caused by people involved with the club like Dave King.

2.) 28 Jan 2017 13:18:23
Yogi don't believe everything you here buddy, I know we are skint but I really don't believe this crap about several 25.g instalments to port vale

Was relieved to get the result yesterday, especially getting to see the look on McGees face at the end! But for me there are too many important players not getting pass marks week in week out. Everyone that seem to think MOH is the solution to our problems is deluded, yes the man has ability and pace to burn but his positional sense is awful, he does the damage out wide running at full backs, but I don't know how many times yesterday he just wandered inside got the ball and passed it right back to the same person. For me he only has to look at McKay, he hunts the touch line and look at the space he gets, if MOH did this he could be a real weapon for us but too often he drifts inside and is totally ineffective in there.

Also once again Halliday was poor and I hate to say it but even holt looked lost in the midfield, the wee man Hyndman looks promising but we seriously need someone that is disciplined wnough to sit in front of the back 4 and be comfortable on the ball, Halliday just isn't that! Holpefully rossiter comes back from the dead and gives us that but we cannot rely on a guy with less than 2 games under his belt this season.

And although I love the guy, Wallace really doesn't get the criticism he deserves, he's cost us as many goals as Tav this season, yes that's partly to do with the holding midfielder not doing their job but like yesterday he backs far to far off the man and can't block a simple ball into the box which isn't good enough.

Up top I think that in these games waggy could really be a Boyd for us, I don't think he has the quality to do it in the big games but against these teams he has a knack for coming up with the goods and he is someone that actually gets into the box and has that greedy instinct that a goalscorer needs, he's not the full solution but learning what games to play him and what games to play garner could be the difference between 2nd and 3rd this year

GM_rfc72

1.) 22 Jan 2017 16:32:10
Gm, just a wee point on the ohslloran thing, the way Warburton sets us up the strikers as you saw with miller yday always drop deep it's then up to the wingers to drift inside to take this position (also deep runners from midfield although none of our midfielders do much of this) . This is tactics and it doesn't suit ohsllorans game I was surprised we signed him for this reason as he's a proper winger which doesn't really suit our system.

14 Sep 2016 22:45:18
Not sure how many fans will agree with this but I really think the way forward for us this season is through a change in formation to a 3/ 5 at the back, pushing tav and lee forward whilst also leaving extra protection on the counter. Also rossiter has to replace Barton for me, this kid has talent and the right attitude to go along with it. Any two of holt/ Windass/ forrester Infront of him giving us legs and talent in the middle of the park, something we desperately lack with Barton and krancjar. Then up top two of garner/ Miller/ waggy, think garner looks like he has the fight and finishing we need up top. Only problem is McKay and O'halloran struggle to fit in the formation but I think it would be best for the club moving forward especially in the big games.

GM_rfc72

1.) 15 Sep 2016 03:33:06
Can't see Warbs dropping Barton.

2.) 15 Sep 2016 04:19:26
Have it on good authority ( common sense)

Joey will not be dropped, he costs too much and his recklessness on eh twitter will bring us down.

Joey will, play, joey will get better.

Krancjar is the most natrually gifted player in eh SPL (on his day) since Moravick.

O'hallraon is rapid, a love Miller but we need to prepare for next year and stopping 10 in a row.

If we lose on Saturday, do you want the Hat to stay?

3.) 15 Sep 2016 08:52:43
Juninho, De boer, Gaza, Larson, Laudrup , Thompson, Artera. All more gifted than niko.

4.) 15 Sep 2016 09:38:17
Laudrup was after
Gaza was before Lubo

The rest for sure mate good call

I think he will come good.

5.) 15 Sep 2016 10:10:42
Laudrup was before gazza and lubo.

6.) 15 Sep 2016 10:31:34
Arteta was in Scotland 5 minutes.

7.) 15 Sep 2016 10:32:27
Laudrup and gazza both before lubo! Is that meant to be alan Thompson 😁 just a hatchet man with a good left peg.

8.) 15 Sep 2016 13:12:38
Kaney, you missed me off your list. Obviously you have never seen me strut my stuff down the park.

9.) 15 Sep 2016 13:53:37
Kaney! I hope that isn't reference to Alan Thompson! He was pish! fair play on the other names, even adding in van bronckhorst, Albertz! even commons I coulda half agreed with.

10.) 15 Sep 2016 16:10:25
juninho and Thomson hahahhaha? your a phsyco. Thomson was a Clugger with a half descent shot.

11.) 15 Sep 2016 17:00:14
many goals did thompson score against Rangers? my point is whether these guys were here for 1 season or 5, they were all more gifted than niko kranjaer.

juninho won a world cup cee. are you really in agreement that niko kranjaer is a more gifted player that juninho?

11 Aug 2016 10:03:03
Warberton is hopeful that a new signing can be completed before the game against Dundee. Must have someone lined up if they are trying to move it that fast, they've done well to hide it from the media.

GM_rfc72

1.) 11 Aug 2016 10:33:48
Said the same before Hamilton. But he did kind of change the tune mid week when he said he reassessed the game and thought the defending wasn't as suspect as he first thought, which meant he didn't want to rush a defender in. Makes you think it may be a defender this week. Surely today or tomorrow we'll know who's going to be our main CB this season.

One game against Peterhead changes nought.

2.) 11 Aug 2016 11:48:10
I hope its sum1 of quality as we really need it!

3.) 11 Aug 2016 12:26:27
Hope it's someone completely put of left field who hasn't been mentioned in the media, Ball, Fanni etc. Mariappa would be perfect but that doesn't seem likely. Ball would be great but he isn't the answer for CB.

4.) 11 Aug 2016 13:11:20
Wouldn't get too carried away- he said more or less the same the week before Hamilton and nothing happened.

One thing is clear- we are desperately searching rather than working to a plan.

5.) 11 Aug 2016 13:12:56
don't know ball and crooks could be a good pairing at cb.

6.) 11 Aug 2016 13:14:06
Am i the only bear that isn't in the slightest bit interested in taking Dom Ball back. i thot he was bang average at best tbh.

7.) 11 Aug 2016 13:34:54
I agree with you bluedie. People seem to think Ball would be the solution for the defence but he couldn't break apart Wilson and Kiernan last season so I have no idea where the thought is coming from. His best position was in the holding role but now we have Rossiter who is head and shoulders above Ball in my eyes and would be the first name on the team sheet for me. I think Rossiter could easily be our player of the season.

8.) 11 Aug 2016 13:45:49
Bit better than bang average but never moved Wilson or kiernan from thier spots last year so who's to say he would now?

9.) 11 Aug 2016 14:08:20
Would sign ball but he's not the immediate answer to our defensive issues will become a better player than Wilson and rob. we need an old school center half! Hard to come by though!

10.) 11 Aug 2016 15:41:26
Ball is definitely not the answer.

11.) 11 Aug 2016 15:48:41
i think ball is the answer and crooks is a cdm aswell but can't be as bad as the two at the moment.

12.) 11 Aug 2016 16:13:38
Agree with everything you said stu-is-blue. i actually thot ball looked laboured at times just like halliday wer as rossiter, windass look to have abit more zip n oomph abt them.

13.) 11 Aug 2016 16:15:18
Another thing bears i honestly think kiernan is warbs preferred choice of the 3 so whoever comes in will b partnered by big rob in my opinion.

23 Jun 2016 09:52:24
Not totally a Rangers rumour here but former gers defender Luca gasporotto has joined Falkirk after we released him. Hope the guy does well, always thought he was unlucky not to get a chance here, especially considering our defence wasn't great. But best of luck to him.

I think he could've been worth a punt on possibly a pay as you play deal? Where he isn't payed when he's sat on the sidelines. Not sure if he would of went for that but not sure it would have been worth the risk.

Can't see the manga rumour being true especially at those wages but I have heard the Jamie Mcclaren one, also had family ties to Scotland and Rangers I believe, could be something in this.

Stewie25, if you can't see a difference between warberton team and mccoists then you need a check mate cause it's night and day, not perfect yet but he gratful for what the man has done to completely re shape the squad in 1 and a half years

Ashley has received stick for years at at Newcastle for not forking out the money he has &C as for DK he won't spend big until fat mike is out the picture cause it's too big a leap of faith, once he's gone I think we will see money finally being put in

I'm not going to pretend to know the ins and outs of all the business side of the club but one thing I will say is that so ft Dave king seems to have done what he's said he would, he's come in and not only saved our club but kept it run as reasonably as possible under the circumstances.

And as far as investing in players fans were told before the season that MW would have a budget of £5 million, and if you add up the outright money spent with the wages that these new signings have cost then I think you'll find it'd be about £5 million.

And yes he has every right to be asking for a place in Europe next year as we have debatably the second biggest/ best/ most expensive squad in the league, some fans just have to get behind the club and open there eyes to the good that DK MW and DW have done in such a short space of time.

Gannet, he never played the final pass to Miller but he played a superb ball through to Wallace who then pulled it back for Miller, these are the things that guys like you just don't seem to notice, yes his decision making is sometimes a bit off but he is still young that'll come with time, lay off the guy honestly.

Totally agree seeker, guys need to open there eyes and see the talent we have here. Don't think we would have come away with three points today without him. Was close to Motm imo, some of his passing was top class and he goes past players with ease.
