Rangers looking to bring in 21 year old central midfielder Harrison Reed from Southampton on loan to the end of the season.

Might as well just use ball in the middle.

How do 6 month loan deals prepare us for next season? We are literally signing players now purely to win the Championship - something the management have previously, repeatedly said that they wouldn't do.

"We don't do short term fixes"
"Short term deals will not help Rangers Football Club"
"We're looking at players who will come in with a view to next season"

And on, and on and on it goes.

Its becomin a ryt joke all were doing is bringing boys on stupid loans or boys tht aren't getting game for there current clubs when will all rangers fans see ths we have obviously no got cash o'halloran is 1 top players in the SPL wuts 500k thts bargain he's only 25 blistering pace n if we don't get him itl be the one that got away regret trust me another cracking we player n rangers fan greg stewart only 25 aswell all dundee want for him is 400k absolute bargain terrific left peg scores amazing goals and can hit freekick how were not going for those types is just beyond help on all levels dave king seems to be all mouth but nae action so we get billy king on loan to the end off season 21 yes young but what iv seen of him he's like dean sheils type and he's not what we needed i honestly think its us panic signings to keep fans of board rooms back in all honesty really dissapointed tht we never got our targets wich would have gave us massive lift and boost in all compititions till end of the season.

Why bring in players that are willing to drop down to the Scottish Championship? Let's get this League won then bring in players who wouldn't be willing to drop a level just for the money. Seems sensible to me, if the short term deals guys show they can play a part keep them. Simple.

With the Southampton rumoured
To be about to join rangers yes short
Term it will B good but fast forward to
June if the club don't renew contracts of
Law Clark shiels nd the 2 lads MW brought
In plus the loanies we will be 8 players short
And we will need a few more on top of that to
Compete for the top 6 n the SPL.

Ultimately i'd rather make a couple of loan deals if it helps win us the league rather than messing about in an inflated January window.

The Billy King signing let's us look at him as a rangers player he has lots of talent so I don't see the issue.

if we get the lad from Southampton we get a talented young lad and build a professional relationship with one of the best in the country at developing youngsters.

7.) 29 Jan 2016 09:56:04
Stop talking nonsense about inflated January prices. 700k for Diagourga and 500k for MOH aren't inflated. If you believe they are you're deluded.

8.) 29 Jan 2016 11:25:51
We will only pay what a what is affordable and b what represents a good deal I fail to see what the problem is with that.

moh is a player that would need replacing quickly in January so yes I do think his club have inflated his fee.

diag only had a year on his contract and heading towards the end of his career so yeah I think for us spending near a million that would never be seen again is bad business.

Good player and if we can get him then we should grab him quickly before someone else comes in for him. He might be a loanee but given that we don't have the money to buy a player of his quality we need to make the best of what is available.

Heard over the weekend that James Morrison at WBA is out of contract in the summer and is due to the leave the club.

I know wages would be a major factor but I think he would be an excellent addition to our midfield if we could land him for next season.

The Express reporting that Hearts are due to sign Don Cowie on a free transfer after the 32 year old was released by Wigan. can't help but think that he could have been an ideal candidate for the defensive midfield position that we need given his experience and style of play.

Where does Josh Windass fit in to all this as well? Also, Matt Crooks favoured position is central mid but dare say he will be utilised at the back.

Mark Warburton has said from day one that he will not talk about any other clubs and/or players whilst negotiations are ongoing as he feels its disrespectful to all parties involved. This shows just what kind of man Mr Warburton is and the class and integrity that he abides by. I agree that greater transparency and openness is sometimes needed from the Club but it doesn’t make sense to publicise our transfer targets as it increases competition which ultimately will cost the club more money.

The manger may have spoken out about deals being close but whilst the majority of fans are bickering amongst ourselves about deals to bring in O’Halloran and Toumani that have been in the media, he may have identified another couple of players that he would like to bring in but as always will remain tight lipped on who they are until deals have officially been completed.

Mark Warburton and his staff have a proven track record of identifying diamonds in the rough and many fans forget that he has a history of brokering multi million pounds. Sure there is a difference between deals for foreign currency and football players but the processes and negotiation tactics used are no doubt very similar and the manager knows exactly what he is doing in the transfer market.

I also believe the board is backing him financially but again if the manager feels that the deal isn’t right or the club is getting screwed over then I for one back his, his staff and boards judgement and they will no doubt move on to other targets.

Still over a week to go in this transfer market and we will no doubt see a new face or 2 but with the squad we have currently, I can’t see us losing the league.
