Before i say anything this might be utter shite so don't shoot the messenger. Anyway school mate of mine who now lives in wales was telling me that there are rumours down there that neil warnock whose contract with cardiff ends next summer isn't signing a contract extension with them because he has a deal in principle to take over at rangers. Like i said might be a load of nonsense but thought i'd share. On another note Happy New year to all fellow bears.

Would love this, always gets the best out of his teams . Well organized and feel he could work within a budget However feel if Cardiff get promoted he wouldn’t give up another crack at the premier league . Big rangers fan and love hearing him noise up Mr Brazil on talk sport . We should have went for him when warburton left

2.) 29 Dec 2017 12:18:19
Also has a house on arran or skye, a daily trip from skye could be an interesting one though lol
Good solid manager if true and i'd be happy with that

3.) 29 Dec 2017 12:52:44
i heard a similar rumour about Robbie Nielson - he’s not signing a contract extension as we are lining him up for the summer

his wife and kids still stay up here, he’s a bluenose and did a v good job at hearts but could be just talk

I’d also be happy with Warnock

4.) 29 Dec 2017 13:20:17
I think he has a house near Dunoon. I would take him in a minute. As we all know this is a rumour but one which I believe is possible if Cardiff don't go up.

5.) 29 Dec 2017 14:41:27
Robbie Nelson would be a great shout but gee him a rolling contract

6.) 30 Dec 2017 00:16:36
on more than one occasion since caixinha lost his job brazil has said on talksport about warnock coming to us he’s stated that warnock would walk to ibrox to take the job

7.) 30 Dec 2017 00:17:47
Robbie Neilson no thanks and he reason he’s not going to sign a new contract is as he’s due to get the bullet as mk dons are in free fall.

8.) 30 Dec 2017 00:19:15
For a long time Robbie had an issue with Rangers as he was an 'S' Form and everybody thought we'd sign him no problem, but John Chalmers, who was head of youth development, went against everybody else and said 'No' so Robbie finished up at Hearts (via a Rangers scout who recommended him) .

9.) 30 Dec 2017 00:47:07
Dutycalls your bang on the money. The scout missed a trick tho and should have signed Robbies bro ;-)

10.) 30 Dec 2017 17:30:37
Scotty123, I've known the family for years mate, and never knew Robbie had a brother who played football.

Anything in the rumours linking us to eliseu? Watched benfica a few times this season and he would be a cracking signing. Free transfer also so win win.

Davus1872

1.) 04 Jun 2017 10:06:11
He would be a good signing but we already have Lee Wallace and Beerman for the left back position so I can't see us going after him.

2.) 04 Jun 2017 10:17:30
Beerman is a rightback, he is also right footed.

3.) 04 Jun 2017 11:38:42
Beerman isn't right footed and isn't a right back! I think you're still on the beer

4.) 04 Jun 2017 12:43:37
Eliseu is a winger

5.) 04 Jun 2017 13:14:17
Always thought Beerman was a rightback, Plays rightback for Malta and played as one for the Man city youth.

6.) 04 Jun 2017 13:18:31
Eliseu isnthe a winger, he plays next to Bruno Alvest in the national team at left back. He gets forward because that's what left backs do in decent teams. I think you will find National and Queresma are the wingers for Portugal

7.) 04 Jun 2017 17:25:06
Beerman has always been a left sided player. With Manchester City he was a Left Winger. So I am told from friends who are of the City persuasion

8.) 04 Jun 2017 19:58:09
According to football manager is a right winger but can play right mid or right back 😂😂😂

9.) 04 Jun 2017 20:58:01
Beerman, to clear this up, is right footed and has said often that he thinks his best positiion is right wing back.

10.) 04 Jun 2017 21:42:52
Cb getting covered let's start getting strike force sorted asap! Can't rely on 37 yr old kenny miller (its a must guys)

11.) 05 Jun 2017 04:13:53
Wee-Ecky i'm sure Beerman is left footed!
Remember watching his first game on tv highlights and he continuously used hus left predominantly. going to need to find out for sure as am doubting myself now.

12.) 05 Jun 2017 13:16:29
I'm sure he said it in a interview that his natural position is a right wing back, the boy can use both feet, but you'll notice he favours his right.

Davus1872

1.) 31 Jan 2018 18:04:20

2.) 31 Jan 2018 18:07:58
Better than Herrera for what i seen of him Scotland u21 younger cheaper out of contract in the summer so win win I say

3.) 31 Jan 2018 18:13:03
Queens11 that was Burke not McBurnie lol

30 Jan 2018 15:54:33
Not a rumour more a suggestion. If we sell morelos we should go for will grigg would score a barrel load up here plus having jimmy nic would help having worked with him on northern ireland duty.

Davus1872

1.) 30 Jan 2018 16:06:50
Freed from desire blaring over the tannoy everytime he scores👍

2.) 30 Jan 2018 16:32:15
Will Grigg is like N. Is 4th choice striker. He gets bigged up s lot because be has a good song.

3.) 30 Jan 2018 19:24:18
He scores for fun though double against west ham at the weekend

22 Jan 2018 16:46:04
Does anyone know what is happening with tyler roberts? Last i heard Leeds had a 4million offer rejected.

11 Jan 2018 19:36:43
I know naismith coming back divides bears opinions but with pena gone using his freed up wages on naismith a guy we know would do a job for us should be a no brainer. Especially when he seems desperate to come back but we instead of going for someone who we know is good enough and would score a barrel load we are looking at wee boys from Fleetwood and non league down south. Unbelievable

Davus1872

1.) 11 Jan 2018 19:59:02
Why waste money on players like Naismith who would have no sell on value when that money could be used to buy young talent from the likes of Fleetwood Town who we could develop and sell on for a decent profit? Honestly can't understand why some on here cream themselves over players who have had their time and their best days are well and truly behind them. Thankfully yous are not running the club as we would be in a much bigger mess than what we are in just now!

2.) 11 Jan 2018 20:02:48
i have concerns about his form and fitness but like you say mate no risk at all if he intends to play for free. has a decent level of experience to be good in the dressing room too. if it doesn't work out bin him in the summer and no lose at all. i'd like him back

3.) 11 Jan 2018 20:40:29
Think Naismith would be great playing in behind moralos

4.) 11 Jan 2018 20:57:55
I would say we'd be in even more a mess if you were running the club calvin55. Development squads don't win major trophies as you need a certain amount of experienced pros in order to develop younger players. The Fleetwood lad could end up being a Dembele or a Dodoo, whereas we know what we're getting with Naismith.

5.) 11 Jan 2018 22:21:07
Of course Naismith is desperate to come back. Why isn't any of the bottom sides in English premier league, or the decent sides in championship after him? He can't get a look in, at a poor Norwich side. Can't afford anymore hanger-ons.

6.) 11 Jan 2018 22:27:59
That's right, we would be getting an injury prone player who hasn't been in form for 2 years!

7.) 11 Jan 2018 22:36:21
Anybody who doesn't think Naismith would be a good signing either knows nothing about football or has a wee childish grudge. He's a smashing football player with a great attitude. And spare me the "he done the dirty on us crap".

8.) 11 Jan 2018 22:46:31
No we don't know what we are getting with Naismith. Yes he was a decent player for us 8 years ago! He is 32 this year and like I said has no sell on value which is no use to the club in the long term. We need to able to sell players on for a profit so we can eventually stop getting on soft loans. What is it you don't understand about we have little funds and what we do have has to be spent wisely?

9.) 11 Jan 2018 23:39:57
Calvin55 gets it

10.) 11 Jan 2018 23:41:23
Fully aware of his injury history but when fit Naismith would definitely score goals in Scotland so we do know what we'd be getting. He would be on loan initially offering to play for next to nothing, in hope of winning a pay as you play contract so wouldn't be a substantial outlay. Not every player we sign has to have sell on profit because as I have said we would end up with a development squad! Young players don't develop by getting humped every week they learn from older pros how to react in certain situations. For example Bruno's performances may have been below par but if he's improved all of the young defenders then he would still represent value. We do need to speculate on young players like Cole but the balance has to be right.

11.) 12 Jan 2018 01:25:22
If he is half as good as his dad we would be on to a winner . Andy Cole

12.) 12 Jan 2018 01:41:24
Totally agree . didn’t like the way he left us but I didn’t like the way kenny miller signed for them

Will he make our team better? . I think so anyway

I think if he goes to hearts he will do well and we will regret not signing him

Thoughts bears?

13.) 12 Jan 2018 07:48:08
Norwich are going to pay his FULL wages till the summer? Eh? They spent £8m on him in 2016 and is one of they're highest earners but because he wants to come back up to Scotland they'll do that?
IF we didn't have so many hangers-on, many on big wages Naismith might well be worth a punt. There's no way he'd play for nothing, that's just him sucking up to the fans. Sure Naismith could handle Scottish football, skill wise but what about physically?
Boy's like Hyndman on loan are better bets just now

14.) 12 Jan 2018 08:38:30
Who said anything about development squads? We need young players who we can bring on and make a profit on when we move them on. I'm not talking about 16, 17 year olds. I mean players who are in early 20s i. e Van Dijk's, Forter's, Dembele examples where we can also insert decent sell on clauses to ensure we are better off financially. Signing players like Naismith, Lafferty, Davis etc will not achieve this for us as they are past it now and won't have any sell on value. All we will do is waste what little funds we have and when these golden oldies leave after a year or two we will be back to square one still having little funds and getting by on soft loans because we can't get a transfer fee for our players. Also do you seriously think Naismith will win us the title? I understand the want for a quick fix but after our troubles its a long road and we are only at the beginning of that long road as step 1 was getting back to the top league. We have more money going out than what we have coming in and needless to say that has to change!

15.) 12 Jan 2018 13:37:26
Last post on this one. I hear what your saying but a squad of guys in their early 20's is still a development squad. You still need experienced players in order to develop them. Given that we can now do a fresh share issue and we've got our retail profits back, we won't need to survive on soft loans. We spent £8-10m in the summer if we spend that again except wiser then we won't be far away.

Keep Believing

16.) 12 Jan 2018 14:44:22
calvin55 - don't you want success in the near future? Rattling on about sell on money etc is a waste of time. Everyone knows Rangers are not great financially so they know they only need to offer £1m for a £3/4m player and we will accept therefore get proven players in that know the game and let's start winning trophies, forget about your football manager building a team nonsense!

17.) 12 Jan 2018 15:26:37
I think it clear from my posts what I think is the best way of getting success in the future, its not nonsense its commonsense and the best way forward in the long term. You can have experienced players at 27/ 28 that will have a sell on value.

24 Dec 2017 14:18:05
Just a thought but maybe we've got a manager lined up but he is currently with a team and his contract runs up at the end of the season. that's why Murty is holding the fort til then so we get the new guy then rather than paying compensation for him now? Or is that wishful thinking?

Davus1872

1.) 24 Dec 2017 15:08:33
Well Wat if we wait for this manager then he says no do we wait another few months

2.) 24 Dec 2017 17:41:23
Not buying it. this board are should have acted straight away. not took 8 weeks then apoint murty. not a happy bear

3.) 24 Dec 2017 18:58:16
It is an absolute joke!

4.) 24 Dec 2017 19:32:31
No we don't have anyone in mind - simply put nobody wants this poisoned chalice of a job. I'll be surprised if anyone actually applied.

5.) 24 Dec 2017 21:15:09
I understand that you are trying to be positive Davus, but having a manager in mind and waiting until the end of the season can be the difference between finishing second and fifth in the league, also it affects the performance of players,
Thats why the board appointed Caixinha last season although it didn't work out,

If the portugese guy gets the job i hope i'm proved wrong and he is a massive success at rangers. I just fear he may be another paul le guen.
