Before I type this out, I'm being a hypocrite. My last post was all about getting behind the team etc, yesterday Warburton got it all wrong. A deflated performance with the luck of a last minute winner. We were simply not good enough, these games are the ones you win comfortably. We looked rugged, we are predictive, we don't have a plan A never mind a B. Tynecastle and Pittodrie will be the difference this year, December time we will draw a lot of games, if we can't play against a weak Motherwell side at home what chance do we have away. Do we need time to bed in? Do we have time to bed in? Tactically is Warburton getting it wrong, take away his goal is kenny still running our line, dropping in with his back to goal. MOH is he an impact player or was he a player that done well in a counter attacking squad where he got in behind teams. We need to rethink the strategy before we even think about anything.
Thoughts bears. I guess it's a negative post but after yesterday the optimism for me is slowly drifting away.

I agree, I would much rather win comfortably ugly than struggle while playing attractive football. It is becoming boring to watch and is almost like there is a rule that every player has to touch the ball before it gets into the box to be met by a wall of players who know exactly what we are going to do. Unless things change I think we can forget about the European dream.

We created plenty of chances. We just need Garner in there to finish them, how many times did we see the ball go to the back post for NO ONE to be there. What about the amount of crosses that just needed a head on them? Honestly if we had taken our chances and scored a goal or 2 more no one would be moaning.

I think the manager is still just trying to get everyone fit and then we will be a force to be reckoned with again. don't get me wrong I was tearing my hair out at the game yday until that last one went in, and yes some of MW's decisions have baffled me this year, but I think once we add a fit Kranjcar, Senderos (hopefully or someone of that stature), Holt, Windass, Waggy, Crooks and Garner then we will be a different animal, and one that can match that other mob.
Right now is the same problem as the end of last year, we don't have many fit options to choose from. That's the problem with not paying transfer fees, a lot of the players we've brought in aren't ready yet, if they were they would have had a richer Club come in for them.
I'm just glad we're keeping ourselves in touching distance until we start firing on all cylinders again, and when we do some team will cop a sore one, hopefully Celtic.
And I think it's fair to say Barton, Rossiter and Halliday can't play in the same midfield, to similar and no creativity.

The problem is we aren't direct enough and the first half was a classic example of this. Slow tempo playing passes across the park in front of Motherwell giving them time to defend. Their goal keeper had nothing to do first half and we made it so easy for them. Under Warburton we are far too predictable and we are easy to defend against and easy to score against.

I agree the tactics are not great at the moment and we need to step/ mix it up but it's too early to be so negative, especially with 7 points on the board, players to come into the team and the team in general coming together the more we play. I think we will get it right in time.

Thing is when we go to celtic park, tynecastle, pittodrie these teams won't sit 11 men behind the ball they will attack us leaving space behind them we will play better against teams who push forward . teams like motherwell just play negative football and its hard to break down but we kept pushing and we got a reward yesterday.

I think MW got his tactic, because there only is one, wrong yesterday. Nico has to start. He isn't the type of player that can easily pick up the pace of the game as a sub, thankfully he was involved in the goals. He would be much more effectual starting games. Barton needed to come off yesterday, he was lost in the midfield and didn't seem to know what his role was. Him and rossiter need to be swapped round. McKay needs to be dropped to give him a kick up the arse. He made no attempts to take anyone on yesterday and when Windass is fit I'd have him in there. MOH needs to add a finish to his moves. He could have set up Miller for a tap in but went for a shot that was never on. The only positive is that they showed resilience to come up with the win.

Europe to be honest hasn't crossed my mind. Ad rather do well domestically, any rangers fans happy with a 2-1 win at home courtesy of a last gasp winner is mad. Yes 3 points is 3 points but looking at the table yesterday should of been comfortable for us.

By Christmas I think we will have garner crooks and windass playing regularly that's 3 players who excite me there all over the place working hard and ruffling the other team
Is it possible that the players are getting over trained and by the time they have to play there not fully fit as they look as if the have jet lag
It could be the opposite and there not eating the right things and eating a few fryed mars bars
I'm worried about our fitness levels they should be flying at this time of year starting to wonder how they will cope with a cup run and league games coming twice a week.

Been scrolling through this rumours page this morning and av got to say there are a number of many fans who are never going to be happy. Abusing king, saying kranjcar is done, slating the players that got us up to the premiership, when are we going to stand behind the team and just let us bed a team that's going to challenge for the premiership. Forgot what happens elsewhere and what other teams arexpect doing, all we care about is rangers and we should be showing encouragement. Kiernan made captain last night and it showed in his performance, he looked comfortable and confident. Do you think "our" players like waking up to stick from our own fans. Hamilton wasn't the best result, if you think that's the league over with a silly draw at ibrox then you are wrong. C'mon bears stick by the team and support every move.

Well said mate, the hysteria over that draw has made me embarrassed to be a Gers fan, as has the treatment of DK who has completely transformed the Club in 18months.
This squad is capable of challenging for the title (admittedly we still need at least a CB and ST, which I'm sure will come) . People make out as if Celtic are invincible because they scraped to a win at Tynecastle and scraped through a few qualifiers against trams nobody has heard of.

I see Hamilton couldn't keep their one match run of form going against Morton last night. We're all behind the team and I don't think some of the criticism suggests otherwise. A lot was directed at the starting 11 selection on Saturday and last night proved a fair number of posters right. O'Halloran and Dodoo bring a lot of pace to the attack and what a game Rosster had.

recbob, Celtic are woeful, however they are currently the best team in this country. They have been arrogant and knew they would walk the title over the last few seasons. They have had to buck up their ideas for this season. There are certainly no stars in their team, unless I have missed something. Are they as good as the team we beat to the 10/ 11 championship? I would say no chance. We have to significantly improve, but unless they do also they are in danger of tripping over their own arrogance. And in their new manager they have a major arrogant person, makes John Collins look like mr bashful.

Going by what I've seen Cullin there is nothing to say we need to seriously buck our ideas as of yet. I will be more inclined to agree once you guys have put a string of results together against decent opposition! Until then I won't have too many sleepless nights and your comments about us progressing in Europe will just remain to appear bitter! I agree a CB and a striker will do the world of good in achieving that, however considering the transfer window remains open for us as well I'm confident we will finish with a much stronger squad than we struggled with continuously over the last 2 seasons.

I wouldn't disagree with that Tbh at the end of the day losing to youz in your first season back would be unthinkable, but think signings we have made so far has put a bit more daylight between us and the rest of the Spl. Warburton has done a great job so far and I think youz will do well but to refer to us as woeful I'm guessing based on what was a tricky European tie across the globe whilst in our pre season, against imo a decent team well into their season is a bit blue tinted! And unless I'm missing something if we have no stars in our team I'd be interested in what stars you have in yours.

Clubdeck Kiernan's positional sense was woeful again last nignt. His passing from the back wasnt much better. I'll grant you thay he won some balls in the air that were straight down the middle to McAllister but when they were running at our defence (which wasnt often) he was terrible. Oh and he did have a nice sliding tackle at the touchline. after having given the ball away in the first place.

I don't think we will be that bad again this season the middle of the park for me was terrible and we couldn't finish our dinner and the defence was non existant.
I think it may take another two games three games tops before you see us getting up to speed with the spl.
as bad a result that was against one of the relegation favourites I don't see it damaging our title hopes too muach as we will beat selik again on September 10th.

James it's the first game of the season under a sell out ibrox. We have played nobodies in the cups and 2 friendlies against a nobody team and Burnley. Look at the bigger picture, if we won 2-1 would the players be getting the same abuse? I agree we need to tighten up and be more clinical in front of goal but it will come. I have 100% faith in this team, find the right balance and we will be running celtic close.

I do agree with what u said in reply to my post clubdeck06 we will get better this season, but only once we have a starting 11 decided and hopefully another cb .
I also think that forrester will be a top class player if he can add finishing to his cv as the boy has everything else.
anyone who thinks we should sell any of our top players for 1 mill is off their rocker. once we win the title back these guys will be worth 10 times that, players like tav McKay forrester rossiter they will be worth an absolute fortune.

Aslong as we're all pulling in the one direction James we will get there. 4 years ago we nearly lost everything so I'm thankful to walk back into ibrox, hear the music and watch my team emerge from the tunnel.
My post refers to all the fans expecting us to be world beaters within a few games. There's plenty of time to become champions again, the feeling on that day will be unbelievable.
I hope there's another one or 2 marquee signings.

Cullin not confused at all I think anyone can see we are adding strength with Rangers now in the Spl. It would be daft to suggest that our biggest rival now competing in the same league would not influence that. Although not for that purpose alone! Regardless of rangers, celtics European showings have not been acceptable, our football was rotten last year (s) and as a result of that even lost to you guys in a one off cup game as you referenced.

Rayman the minute a season start it's "what your going to do, not what you have done" the same for you's as it is for us. You's have done nothing in the last 4 seasons anyway. Won a one horse donkey race against Aberdeen, it's as impressive as us winning against Hibs last year (which is not very) . The fact you's done it in front of a regular attendance of under 20k shows how much it meant. How you's never won a treble in that time is embarrassing with your resources to be honest.
In my opinion you's have spent over £5m in fees for worse players than what we have got in for free, simply to appease your fans. Sinclairs been a turkey for years, every football fan knows that, and for nearly £4m is Nuts.

Either warburtons happy to continue risking Kiernan and Wilson or he's not too bothered about bringing in abother centre half. One minute he's telling us he wants to bring in another 2 players then we are ready and then saying he's happy with the squad we have got. Tbh I'm not 100% happy with the centre halfs, it's all fine and dandy saying crooks will play there but if he doesn't fit the bill we have 4 centre halfs that are fairly mediocre.

They got dropped for their poor performances. Unfortunately we don't have the talent to replace them. These are his players, he's out his depth, he doesn't deserve anymore time in the dug out.
What do players need to do to get a chance in the team. The manager and players are to blame, this is rangers not some pub team. His tactics are poor, interviews are nothing but nonsense, his substitutions are ridiculous. He needs to go, we need men who know what rangers are all about.
