So we've been told 3m is the price for Goldson, let's see how serious the board are.

1.) 28 May 2018 10:53:04
3rd choice cntr half at Brighton and Hove Albion costs 3m. wow Cletus how times have changed.

I’m old enough to remember gough butcher brown and graham roberts all signing. Back then 3rd choice cntr half from Brighton you’d prob pick up for 2 ginger bottles &’a lucky bag!

wonder if the lad Isherwood on trial from Bayern or Aiden Wilson will get a shot next season

for what it’s worth I reckon Mcrorie wld be better suited to sitting in front of back 4 - lad really looks like he has something about him lots energy drive and loves a tackle

2.) 28 May 2018 10:56:51
We should not be forced to pay over the odds. Lad at Aberdeen, McKenna would cost about 1.5 with sell on clause

3.) 28 May 2018 11:15:33
Connor Goldson is valued at 1m euros by a certain online transfer, oops almost gave the site away, media. So why should we pay £3m especially when Brighton want to sell?

4.) 28 May 2018 11:17:29
Aye me too Trev, how times have changed. Point is guys, if SG wants this guy then we'll see what backing he has from the board. Their price has been named, now whether he's worth that or not is a different debate. If SG says he's our guy and we know what we have to pay, will we?

5.) 28 May 2018 12:08:18
If we are going to target players from england then we are going to have to dig deep no english clubs will sell there players on the cheap its just the way the market is down there

6.) 28 May 2018 13:19:13
Pretty sure Aberdeen turned down £2m from Hull for McKenna so no we won’t get him for 1.5m. Haven’t seen anything of the lad from Brighton so won’t comment on what we are about to pay for him ( if true ) the problem is, especially with CB you either go for experience or a youth with potential as all the CB worth their salt that are a good age will cost a lot more than we can afford tbh.

7.) 28 May 2018 13:43:08
The way Brighton view it is he’s still only 25 his best years are still ahead off him and he’s English what as we know they love to inflate the price. and on top off all that he’s still a quality centre back who is happy to be 3rd choice currently so will they find centre back with the same quality who’d be happy to be a 3rd chance centre back at Brighton? definitely not so if we have to pay that then so be it. it’s todays market

8.) 28 May 2018 14:16:07
Give Wilson a chance, he costs nothing and is just as good as any 3rd choice Brighton player.

9.) 28 May 2018 14:41:45
I’m not for a sec saying we should pay it as I no nothing about the boy but I would say 3m for a prem league 25 year old cb is not bad.

10.) 28 May 2018 14:48:32
sorry but 3m for an EPL player at 25 is not a lot of money, this is the kind of money we need to spend on players to get to where we need to be.

People saying '3rd choice' for Brighton, as if to claim he's not good enough, need a reality check, don't think there's a CB in our league that would get into Brightons team.

11.) 28 May 2018 16:50:34
He's a 3rd choice premier league player. I've no idea if he's the answer, it does seem a bit of cash though. Pretty sure Hull didn't bid £2m for McKenna. The sheep would be looking for that type of money though. Caulker, McKenna, souttar. Think we could get any one of those for less of than £3m

12.) 28 May 2018 16:53:41
If a 3rd choice premier league player is good enough (and he could well be) wouldn't signing someone like Darren Fletcher be good? I know he's getting on but premier league, champions league experience?

13.) 28 May 2018 18:20:24
The lad from Brighton was first choice prior to his heart troubles. He was an outstanding young defender with EPL club's looking to buy him. The cb's that are keeping him out of the Brighton team have done also on merit getting Brighton promotion while fh13 was recovering. If he adjusts to Scottish game he is just what we are looking for in a CB

Just a question lads.
With Tav being back on the radar, would you be happy to take a shed load of dough for him and push Flanno to his more natural position and have Barasic in his?
I like Tav but money is money as they say.

1.) 31 Oct 2018 12:21:22
Yes I would take it in a heartbeat, he is neve Rangers captain material.

2.) 31 Oct 2018 12:26:01
6-7m i'd take as we could more than replace him with that imo.

3.) 31 Oct 2018 12:37:05
Would take the money in a minute. Use it to secure Kent on a permenant. What a deal that would be.

4.) 31 Oct 2018 13:06:21
A slightly take 5 plus this guy is one of our poorest players, certainly does not have the class to be our captain. Every post match interview chewing gum I hat seeing that.

5.) 31 Oct 2018 13:28:45
Part of me wonders if this whole make Tav my captain thing wasn't a tactical move by SG. Knowing he has Flanno, a few good performances and act all aggrieved when someone wants to buy you captain, but hey, luckily we've got a replacement. Pushes the price up alright. It's really one of the decisions I couldn't ever fathom from SG. Why make him his captain? There are more natural guys in the team who could fill that role and who would be better at it. Perhaps I'm over thinking things.

6.) 31 Oct 2018 13:42:40
Anywhere in the region of £4m and I would take in a heartbeat. I really do not get, other than penalties, his value to the team. The amount of wasted deliveries into the box is criminal, and for me one of the main reasons behind our last 2 results. We have got into great positions but the delivery into the box has been woeful.

7.) 31 Oct 2018 14:42:12
Yip take the money.

8.) 31 Oct 2018 15:13:42
Why would anyone even want him if he is as bad as you lot make out!

9.) 31 Oct 2018 17:14:15
I think Flanagan really struggles at left back, I would like to see what he is like on his natural right side. I agree that it might have been a tactic of Gerrards to make tav captain and raise his profile. We'll know in January if the rumours about the WBA interest are true and a bid comes in!

10.) 31 Oct 2018 17:23:46

Why would anyone have signed Herrera or Pena when they are as bad as they are?

11.) 31 Oct 2018 17:58:42
Give the guy a break. He’s been st the club for a few years now and gives 100% every game. His final ball in the last 2 games hasn’t been good enough but he is an attacking right back who always wants the ball. SG made him his captain because he led by example in training during the summer and helped welcome the new players. If we sell him for a good profit then fair enough but while he is playing try and support him and the rest of the team.

Come on tav give us s goal tonight.

12.) 31 Oct 2018 17:58:48
Cletus you are 100% spot on. I have said this on these pages since the start of the season. I would then use the money to bring in a proven goal scorer. For me it's a no brainer. Onwards and Upwards fellow bears.

13.) 31 Oct 2018 19:27:20
Everyones for sale at the right price. Just hope we do get the right price other than some of the other values we ve by had.

14.) 31 Oct 2018 20:00:50
Arthur D - how much £££ did we make on those guys then?
If we want rid we should talk them up and get what we can.

15.) 01 Nov 2018 23:25:20
Who’s going to pay upwards of £4 million for someone who can’t defend, can’t cross the ball or isn’t captain material?
FFS get a grip!
He’s created plenty of assists, scored some wonderful free kicks and taken some crucial penalties.
Yes nothing came off for him on Sunday but he was still there right to the end trying to make things happen.
Personally I’d move him into midfield and put Flanagan at right back.

28 Oct 2018 14:56:57
Looks like Celtic then should we beat the sheep. a dodgy penalty and a howler from their keeper looks to have sunk the tarts.

1.) 28 Oct 2018 15:09:57
How dare you that poor wee downtrodden club have not had a decision go their way in over a hundred years. 😢.

21 Oct 2018 11:50:31
'Good player's can play anywhere', SG's comment regarding Andy Halliday in the presser.
Fantastic the way he just cut off the journalist with his backing for HIS player.
Andy's not everyone's cup of tea, but you can't fault his application and dedication to RFC.

1.) 21 Oct 2018 12:42:07
Good to see Rossiter back. Surprised he's playing on that surface though with his injury history.

11 Oct 2018 21:54:30
Ridiculous knocking back Paul Gascoigne from the hall of fame. Who's going up in his stead, Steven Presley? Picked him because hopefully that won't annoy anyone.

1.) 12 Oct 2018 06:41:20
Just goes to show you the dark side are still hurting from Gazzas magic he unleashed on them time after time the man was sheer class every week who wants their poxy award give it to the wee perv with nae neck!

2.) 12 Oct 2018 12:32:37
Jimmy Johnston was an alcoholic and wife beater. It’s a total farce what they have done to Gazza. If you can listen to vinny Jones calling into talk sport about it. Sfa have always been corrupt. Embarrassing.

29 Sep 2018 12:32:56
Hmmmm, as there aren't any league positions up for grabs yet, I wonder will Celtic lie down to the sheep again lol?

1.) 29 Sep 2018 16:21:48
A draw is perfect for us.

2.) 30 Sep 2018 22:15:11
Hi Cletus my previous post was meant for you. " Would smarmy Brenda have said the team with the most desire to win won, had timco not won? ".

If you can't maintain a grass pitch then you shouldn't be a professional club. That's the surface I play my fives on. Even we play our Saturday league stuff on grass and my team is totally Mickey mouse in comparison. How can you try and punt our product to the TV companies when our professional top tier clubs are playing football on synthetic surfaces.
How about saving further money by getting those 99p balls from the pound shop, and having everyone shining their phone torch on the pitch in winter to save on floodlights.

Care to recommend a replacement that's within our budget?

I'd actually started a post regarding the ref and then couldn't be bothered but I totally agree stewarty. How these people continue to get games is beyond me. They are utterly useless, the sorts of decisions you would see in Sunday league football from an overweight dude who is doing it all himself. These guys are professional refs, with helpers! Just think about that for a moment, professionals with help.
The guy today had lost the game after the first few minutes in my opinion Failing to book players when he needed to stamp his authority and then booking and even sending off when there was no justification. Total tube, and to think, he'll be doing it all again next week to some other hapless players and supporters.

I've no real interest either TD and I certaunly don't need reminding of what they did 6o us. However, if you think what I said through, then that same principle can be applied to us, if and when teams come knocking for our players.
