Well that's the Torres rumours firmly put to bed. He's just signed for Japanese side Sagan Tosu.

Think about it, this Stevie G rumour about becoming the next gaffer could actually be a master stroke by the board. Gerrard played under Brenda so will know about all his tactics and behind the scenes methods. Gerrard has also been learning from a far superior manager in Klopp, so should have the know-how on how to outplay Brenda.
Gerrard will also have access to Liverpool's talent pool of players, contacts with players he has played with (Torres, out of contract at Athletico Madrid etc. ) and commands the respect of playing at the highest level possible.
This could actually work with a little patience to start with, but a good, testing pre-season will be key for the new players to bed in and hopefully progress through the Europa qualifiers

Loved the Torres bit.

Could be credible, given that Allen was City's chief of recruitment. Arteta know's what it takes to be a Ger and the demands of the club.
Arteta has had 2 years under Guardiola now learning the ropes and what a fantastic mentor that is to have.
Would also potentially allow a tap into City's reserves / fringe players needing game time to enhance their prospects. Maybe not a bad shout, but hard to see him giving up his role at City

One of my work colleagues is good friends with Darren Fletcher. He was saying how he is enjoying life at West Brom and can see himself retiring there. Big Cel*ic fan, so can't see him coming to the Gers

Wilson has rejected the move to Rangers, from various news sources.
Suspect the boy from Tottenham will be favourite now for DoF role

Surely some conflict of interest would be mentioned to UEFA, like with Cashley and his involvement with Newcastle.
City's owners have a club in each continent to avoid these conflicts - such as if Gers ever faced City in Champions League etc.

Can't forget Francis Jeffers too

I'd give Ronald Koeman a chance, but would prefer a Rangers minded gaffer. 3 times we have tried a foreign manager and 2 have spectacularly failed.

Tugay was class in the midfield.
