Respect to all of you who posted tributes to big Billy on this site and ours. A lot of Rangers scarfs left at his statue at Celtic park also in the last couple of days. It won't be forgotten.

Respect should always be a given COYBIG, no matter if you're blue or green mate! Billy McNeill was a true gent first and foremost and a celtic legend in that order. Great family man and great celtic legendary,
centre half. RIP MR. BILLY MCNEILL! GOD BLESS YOU SIR.

Couldn’t agree more Super. I’ve said it before, rivals not enemies.

Coybig👍.

There are a few guys across our rivalry that will unite everyone. Billy McNeill is one of them.
Billy was to you what John Greig is to is, they are the founders of what we stand for. Although gone in person he will be forever remembered by both Blue and Green.

Rest in peace Billy, have a kick about in the sky!

I’d like to think that we’ll show the same respect to John Greig when he leaves us although the last time I saw him, he looked as if he’ll be around for a quite a number of years to come.

OK, what can I say? Congratulations lads. Yous were better than us. You played well, you wanted it more, yous deserved it. Can't wait till the next one at CP, when hopefully, we can reverse the result. Enjoy your night.

Fair play. Takes balls to do that.

2.) 30 Dec 2018 07:45:53
Fair play COYBIG! At least you're honest, whereas still a minority of your fans, still want to blame referees etc, when truth be told rangers beat celtic soundly! Not being funny whatsoever, but it was a very easy 1-0 win for us and i think celtic got off the hook, as it could so easily have been 4 or 5 for us if it wasn't for craig gordon! I'm not going to shout from the rooftops,
that we're going to win the league but we've laid down a statement of intent and I believe there is a title race and steven gerrard has already closed the gap! So on Stevie G and the 6 month report, I'm a very happy bear!

COYBIG a very decent post. Hats off to ya. All the best for the New Year.

An honest man, well said.

Ok, I'm not on here to wish you guys luck today. If I'm honest, I hope we pump you 4 or 5 nil and the buffalo gets sent off. BUT, rivalries aside, let's hope that everyone makes it home safely tonight. Enjoy the game lads. Rivals Not Enemies!

Tell that enemy nonsense to your “Green Brigade “ sometimes it’s hard to forget.
I had friends in the Ibrox disaster and on way home I saw 66-0 painted on a street corner with ha ha after it. So
( not talking about you coybig ) some Celtic supporters do think of us as enemies, mores the pity.

2.) 29 Dec 2018 10:05:17
Well said.

We’ve both got balloons within our ranks. We can choose to rise above or get dragged down to their level.

You seem like a sensible guy, as you know this game is more than a game of football? It’s talked about and seen all over the world, I worked in the states with Rangers fans and Celtic fans ( all friends ) except when we played each other, it’s in the blood, I supported Rangers in my mums womb. Hope it’s a great game and Rangers win
( for a change ) 😝 and everybody goes home safe.

Best post in a exile on here coy big, most of my close friends are celtic fans, watched many old firm gsmes together with never a bit of bother. fair to say I've been on the receiving end last few years, butility I spent a good few before that giving it large lol. If people can't realise it's only a game (yes, a huge gsme) but just a game none the less, I worry about our society.

As well as having 60% possession, we only had 2 less shots on goal and we both had the same shots on target. We had 11 corners to your 7. I said it at the time and I’ll repeat it, you deserved to win but I would hardly describe it as being outplayed.

It’s a fair point Stewarty, and I don’t think anyone knows the answer to this at the moment, including PL and DP. A lot depends on how long we’re shut down for and also how deep the pockets are of our respective owners. It will also depend on the contracts themselves and whether or not there are clauses that would allow us to terminate them. The players/ agents themselves may be willing to renegotiate them as they will be made aware that the alternative may be 5p in the pound from the liquidators. I notice PL has made a couple of derisory offers for players in the last few days which perhaps indicates that he believes the clubs from the big leagues are in a lot more trouble than we are and will be willing to sell for significantly reduced fees. Knowing PL, as we tims do, he’s as tight as. well I can’t really say on here but I think you know what I mean. I’d like to think he’s given some thought to how we balance the books if this lasts till beyond new year. It’s uncharted territory for everyone but if the Scottish clubs are prudent and take the right measures, we may all come out of it stronger than we went in.

Seeker, Bankie, all we have is a picture of a voting slip that says no and we have been advised by the SPFL that Dundee emailed to say that there vote hadn’t been cast, alledgedly received before the actual vote. I would agree that the whole thing should have been handled better (no proof required) and there are allegations of bullying, coercion but we definitely need to see some proof of that. I’m not aware of any involvement of Celtic/ Lawell so proof would also be required of that. If there has been wrongdoing by the SPFL and/ or Celtic, I would welcome an independent investigation and anyone found guilty should be dealt with appropriately. However, an enquiry cannot be called for frivolous reasons. There has to be a strong case to support the request and this is where evidence comes in. The only way the enquiry will happen, is if evidence is produced and it justifies the request.

That’s quite a serious accusation Bankie. Do you have any evidence to back that up?

The rivalry between our two clubs is one of the greatest in world football. Sometimes some of us take it too far but at times like this it’s worth remembering, it’s only a fkn game. Life is far more important and I’m not ashamed to say that looking at a picture of him with his daughter today, I cried. To deprive him of the chance to see her grow up is unimaginable cruelty, yet he kept a positive outlook. He must’ve had the heart of a lion and he has my upmost respect. I plan to take my daughter, who is also Celtic daft, to Ibrox to lay our tributes to the man. I want her to grow up respecting our rivals. I hope you don’t mind the odd Celtic scarf among the tributes as I know we appreciated the Rangers scarfs that were left in tributes to big Billy when he passed away.
