Talksport reporting we have had a bid of 1.8mil accepted for Garner.

BigJon

1.) 15 Aug 2016 17:54:00
Tav to be sold to turkey to balance the bookstore.

2.) 15 Aug 2016 18:13:09
Tav's going nowhere.

3.) 15 Aug 2016 18:21:40
1.8million what is that all about 6 goals last season sorry but naw.

4.) 15 Aug 2016 18:32:02
Scored more than Grigg and Bradshaw 2014/ 15!

5.) 15 Aug 2016 18:38:08
Grigg and bradshaw are in in there early 20s.

6.) 15 Aug 2016 19:04:11
Watch his goal scored video then make your
minds up, I can assure you the boy can play .

7.) 15 Aug 2016 19:16:08
It's 900k up front but will go up to 1.8 if all the add ons are completed. I. e games played, goals scored and champions league.

8.) 15 Aug 2016 20:37:19
Benny0812,from what I've heard the transfer fee we're paying PNE for joe garner is £1.5million minimum to be paid in two installments ie.750k this year and 750k next year, then with add ons for appearances etc the fee could rise to £1.7million in total which would be another 200k.

9.) 15 Aug 2016 20:50:44
Warb the 15th it's just what I have read. I can't see us paying anywhere near the 1.8mill that's been spoke about.

10.) 15 Aug 2016 21:03:26
U know what, i'm happy with this. A bit more experienced, a good age at 28. Finally paying realistic money doesn't look so embarrassin anymore (although its still peanuts) . Balancing out the average age. Good move i rekon.

11.) 15 Aug 2016 21:37:51
It's certainly not embarrassing paying out money we can afford and balancing the books.
Have you not been there when we went in to liquidation 😐 now that was embarrassing, getting slaughtered by other fans, no being able to sleep, worrying if we will survive.
Let's take out time and get it right.

12.) 15 Aug 2016 22:31:57
All we need now bears is a cracking cb and we're good to go 🔴⚪️🔵😘.

13.) 15 Aug 2016 22:40:02
Eezyeez paying realistic money? How do you think we managed to sign the players we signed? Do you not think we get these players without signing on fees and more importantly agent fees? I for one think we have spent quite a fair penny getting what we have Barton and Kranc being the more expensive but I do believe the bargain of the summer has got to be the lad Rossiter as this boy just oozes class and at the age of 21 if we keep him for two seasons I think we'll make a few bob on the boy! Now can we all stop the doom and gloom of " we haven't spent a dime yet " as its getting old, we probably can afford a £3mill player but it'll put us back to where we were a few seasons back ( struggling to put the lights on ) so let's just see where we are at the end of the transfer window and see what business has been done and support our beloved club no matter what!

14.) 15 Aug 2016 23:54:16
blackwood i'm not thick mate. I'm just saying its good we are in a position that we can pay 1.8mil that's all. Difference from previous seasons looking at just free players etc. No negativity in my previous comment i clearly meant we are on the up.

15.) 16 Aug 2016 08:50:01
Blackwood, just a correction Jordon Rossiter is only 19 - what a player if we can keep him for a few years, we can only wish he gets the rangers bug and wants to stay for life haha.

16.) 16 Aug 2016 09:13:59
grigg and Bradshaw were playing a league below garner.

17.) 16 Aug 2016 12:13:37
ill take garner but I hope he can convert more than last year.

13 Aug 2016 15:12:15
Joe Garner played for Preston today. Was apparently supposed to be at dens park.

BigJon

1.) 13 Aug 2016 15:44:47
Last appearance before coming to us.

If u ever watch a MW interview he'll always completely rubbish a story if it has no truth to it. His words were, linked with lots of players, get something done next 24/ 48 hours.

In other words, read between the lines. Joe Garner will be a Ranger in 24/ 48 hours.

2.) 13 Aug 2016 16:09:15
He certainly didn't deny his interest- but let's wait and see what happens.

Will we actually pay proper money for him?

3.) 13 Aug 2016 16:09:49
Need a cb are 2.

4.) 13 Aug 2016 16:19:53
Mr Nice.

Who gives a toss about proper money, the less we can get him for the better.

He didn't deny. This one is a goer.

5.) 13 Aug 2016 18:41:37
PNE Boss confirms we have enquired about Garner and says he is not looking to sell. However in his next sentence he indicates anyone can leave for the right price. which is a bit of a givaway. apparently PNE are desperate for the money to fund the signing of a new full back.

6.) 13 Aug 2016 19:27:10
Trust the hat. garner is like a better version of kris boyd btw.

7.) 13 Aug 2016 21:59:30
Better than kris boyd? Have a word with yourself bludie. no comparison. boydie at his best was a phenomenal hitman. we seem to like to have a pop at some of our own. boydies a legend and his record both with us, and a poor killie team is outstanding. just because he didn't beat 5 men every time he scored, doesn't take away what a great penalty box player he was. Garner's not a patch on Boydie at his best.

8.) 14 Aug 2016 08:44:33
Aye your right chinabear! Legend? phenomenon? Remind me of his record against the mhanky mhob again. my my.

9.) 14 Aug 2016 13:22:54
And in europe?

10.) 14 Aug 2016 14:39:43
Thorn - my point is that it will take proper money before Preston will let him go. Not the 250k we have spent so far but north of 1m, and probably quite a bit more.

Your right MW didn't deny it, so there's genuine interest bit there was genuine interest in other player's that we couldn't afford.

11.) 15 Aug 2016 09:21:03
Bearing in mind when we played celtic under watty our style was 9 men behind the ball and flood out on the counter and in Europe play 10 men behind the ball and hope for penalties lol. neither of which suited boyd a penalty box predator. Boyd was Scottish Footballs top scorer 4 out of 5 seasons, and the other (07-08) he scored 25 goals in 25 starts including practically winning league cup and scottish cup on his own. Smith didn't like him because his work ethic was non existent. That wasnt his game boyd. Say one thing though. The Boyd of 8 or 9 years ago would have a field day in this Rangers team. Our conversion of chances to goals in last year has been shocking. boyd in his heyday would av scored 50 goals last season in our team. and easily 30 in PL this season.

12.) 15 Aug 2016 11:31:55
bluedie what are u on mate what's his record against the manky mob got to do with it!
or Europe the guy was a legend in the spl.
what has garner done to be classed as a better player than boyd what has he done in Europe and has he ever played a celtic team?
your comment just didn't make sense to me mate boyd is a rangers legend that broke records in Scotland I don't get where u think garner is a better player than him 2.5 games a goal an a league that yes is better than the current spfl but don't forget that the guy hasn't been proven in Scotland against celtic or at European level.

Apologies if this is common knowledge, I've been away for a few weeks, but what's happened to Jordan rossiter? I seen he wasn't in the squad on Tuesday.

BigJon

1.) 22 Sep 2016 22:51:29
Think he's been injured for a couple weeks.

31 Aug 2016 18:46:27
Just seen Murdoch is off, but why do we keep terminating players contracts by mutual consent? We did the same with McGregor and he signs for hibs the next week. Surely we could sell Murdoch for 50 - 100k? Someone is going to sign this kid and get an absolute bargain.

BigJon

1.) 31 Aug 2016 19:21:25
Yeah I can see raith rovers launching that kind of bid for him.

2.) 31 Aug 2016 19:58:33
If Murdoch was still under contract and we've let him go, why can't we do the same with Hill?

3.) 31 Aug 2016 20:53:20
You're exactly right BigJon. Why do we spend the money to develop players then release them? Ross McCormack is the best example of how we fail in that department.

4.) 31 Aug 2016 21:35:41
Hill has to be the most nonsensical transfer of the entire window.

5.) 31 Aug 2016 23:43:05
It happens with every team, not every single youth player will make the 1st team squad on a permanent basis.

6.) 31 Aug 2016 23:54:47
I have a feeling that Hill will come good. He has not been brought in to be a starter every week but his experience and maturity will help the others develop.

24 Aug 2016 09:06:42
Great to see Matt Crooks played last night, I for one am really excited to see this guy develop under warbs. There was a lot of chat on here about Windass at the start of the season and I think MC came in a bit under the radar. The boy is a lump at 6"4 and is no slouch either. Having watched his YouTube clips it looks like he can hit a ball, but given our current squad, I think he will be deployed at CB more often than not this season. I'd go as far as to say he will be a big part of the solution to our shaky defence in the very near future. What's everyone's thoughts?

BigJon

1.) 24 Aug 2016 09:56:17
Yea he's going to be a great player. Excellent range of passing good technical ability and pace, and with his hight at 6'4 he will be great at the back for defending corners and free kicks into the box (Our main weekness) hopefully not too long now to we see him in the famous blue jersey 🔴⚪️🔵.

2.) 24 Aug 2016 11:12:44
Careful, it's a crime to talk up crooks on this site don't you know?

3.) 24 Aug 2016 11:31:21
Haha! Not really seen him mentioned that much to be honest, until yesterday. Like I said, hopefully the solution is already in our ranks.

4.) 24 Aug 2016 11:45:52
going on his youtube performances, he is going to be superb for us up here. get him in CB, hopefully he will sort us out, looks like its him or Senderos that are our last realistic hopes of a decent CB.

5.) 24 Aug 2016 12:15:55
We all love this boy but few have actually seen him. Has said today that he hopes to be available and in contention for Celtic game.

6.) 24 Aug 2016 12:54:18
Recbob

Grow up all people on here have said is they need to see how he plays before saying what a great signing he is. Nothing wrong with that and all sensible people would agree.

7.) 24 Aug 2016 13:07:13
Poor biffo will be raging with everyone talking up my favourite player - Garth has class and will develop into an even better player in the coming months -.

8.) 24 Aug 2016 13:28:11
: crooks on shortlist for world player of the year.

Bookies have installed him as favourites based upon his YouTube videos and the cult following he has gained without kicking a ball.

Look, we all hope he turns out to be a good player and does a job, but let's wait until the guy is fit and shows what he can do on the pitch- before making a series of ridiculous comments about his abilities.

9.) 24 Aug 2016 14:49:10
Mr nice

Exactly mate it's a pity there are a few on here that can't grasp this and think that this is somehow a slur on him. We all hope he will be a great signing but time will tell.

10.) 24 Aug 2016 17:14:58
biffo- Some just get a bit carried away at times.

I just hope he's half as good as his hype!

11.) 24 Aug 2016 19:30:31
Looking forward to seeing Crooks and we'll see what he offers, I often find it's exciting when we sign a few players in pre season but 1pr 2 are injured and you don't see them for a few weeks it always keeps interest going to see how good these players will be when they eventually start.

12.) 24 Aug 2016 21:05:37
Some of us have actually seen the boy play and are looking forward to watching him pull on the Blue jersey. it's not a crime.
Whoever made you two the authority on here about who the rest of us would like to see in the team is beyond me. It is a forum based on opinions, not a dictatorship.
And Biffo my tongue was firmly in my cheek with my comment, is this not meant to be a banter site? No need to get your knickers all twisted up.

Graeme Murty appointed head development coach. Anyone know anything about him as a coach?

BigJon

1.) 17 Aug 2016 12:02:05
Hey BigJon, I know he was the Southampton academy coach for the under 12's when they were going through their development stage from league one. Think it was in 2012 and then he moved on to Norwich which is where we have taken him from!

Good appointment as we establish solid and professional foundations for future development of the academy. Congratulations and Welcome Graeme Murty to Rangers.

5.) 17 Aug 2016 13:28:59
Sounds like a great appointment then. Anyone involved in Southampton's youth set up, whatever the level, obviously knows what hey are doing. Thanks teddy.

6.) 17 Aug 2016 14:11:08
True Southampton have a very good academy.

7.) 17 Aug 2016 14:14:01
Graham Murty as in the ex Reading defender?!

8.) 17 Aug 2016 15:38:11
Teddy, you know anything about this Graeme Murty character?

Always liked what I've seen from Nicholson. Good Scottish prospect that if we sign and develop will be worth a few quid in the future.

Garner scored 50 goals over 2 seasons in the same division as Wigan were in last year. Griggs has the name but I'd bet that garner will be just as effective while costing considerably less.

It's more about appreciating the effort he puts in. He's also in an entirely new system, something andy little backed up in the paper yesterday. If the effort is there, the goals will come.

Would probably take both if it was up to me, wage dependant. Lescott has had his critics but Is relatively solid. Michu has lost his way a bit and is now playing in Spain's third division, but Warbs has a good track record of allowing players to recapture form/ achieve potential.
