As far as Ashley is concerned, every action has a reaction. So he wants to take control when his brand is close to being advertised around europe (even if it is only a few qualifiers) natural reaction from king is to invest himself to keep ashley away, possibly getting us a team better equipped for the europa league and taking us into the group stages therefore giving sports direct more coverage?

Albertz

1.) 05 Mar 2017 16:53:27
He has no chance from what I hear king and the 3 bears plus club1872 and an other hold over 50% of the club, this is the end for fat man

2.) 05 Mar 2017 19:42:48
Not one but every single member of the original investment team could be convinced that the money they invested will never see anything other than failure. Bet365 cash out option of losing only £100 rather than £1000 is Mike Ashley. We have all seen an acca almost there, but know that the final game is a lost cause. let's be real here guys. Investment is investment. The devil could wear blue and pay and not one of us would say a word if we are winning. We talk a big game, but we back it up with very very little. Great support, but we will buy season books a plenty if we are given yet more promises without conformation.

3.) 05 Mar 2017 16:07:12
If Ashley is sad to see the state we are in then WHY doesn't he have a merchandise deal in place that would benefit both parties and not feud with King resulting in our financial woes and hence adding to this STATE we are in! The guy is a joke and does not have Rangers best interests at heart. Also does it now look like we are tied to this deal for full duration Bears please let me know if anyone knows what's happening with this?

4.) 05 Mar 2017 18:31:51
I hate ashley for what he's done to Rangers but there may be a bit of truth in the face he is wanting to buy out king an invest money I don't no what to think but if he's willing to spend money £30 million just to take control he might just want to take us forward who nos don't trust anyone anymore he could offer more in transfer money than king ever will yes he's a money man but he's willing to invest in Newcastle they will get champions league so if he did take control I think he would spend big to achieve that with us

5.) 05 Mar 2017 19:35:18
He doesn't have to buy us for that, Albertz. He could sponsor say, a Rosenborg for instance, who play in Europe every year and sick his rotten logo on their strip for far less.

6.) 05 Mar 2017 21:16:27
Can't believe people are even considering Ashley or believes all this bull about he will invest Ashley only thinks of Ashley it would be a total disaster if he was to get his hands on us. All he is thinking is this court case he could lose and have his retail contacts ripped up so from his point of view he thinks spend 30mill take over then I can do what I want. this take over is just to keep his business plans going with no interference at all that's all he wants and with the retail deal he has and getting sports direct probably on are strips with us in Europe. So a one off payment of 30mill for someone of his wealth will be a good deal for that but don't believe for one minute he will invest or look after us not a chance!

7.) 06 Mar 2017 03:05:58
King has bought and invested in a side interest that was interest to himself and he lumped it onto his investment. £18m that he spouted to the media has nothing to do with the direct footballing side of rangers. King will argue that he has spent money the club. All he has done has bought parts of the club. He has had numerous opportunities under severe criticism to point to that part of the spreadsheet and say yeah that was me. He hasn't and it would of been his best defence if he could of done that.

8.) 06 Mar 2017 11:58:57
All Ashley is doing is making it out that he has the club's best interests at heart to help his case in court!

i'm not going to sit and lecture people here but i will say i have learned my lesson when it comes to the fat rat. he came in took advantage of a major club that was being run into the ground by criminals, therefore by association he is a criminal and is stealing money everyday from rangers pockets.

so why on Earth would anyone believe a guy that has never done anything for Newcastle United except get them relegated and playing worse, and that has stolen from us?

14 Feb 2017 18:43:22
So we are getting a director of football, Stewart Robertson has confirmed it.

Albertz

1.) 14 Feb 2017 18:55:45
If it helps the club then happy days

2.) 14 Feb 2017 19:39:47
I'm sceptical of this structure if I'm being honest. I believe the time is right to make a marquee appointment i. e Frank De Boer but it seems the board have different ideas. We're hardly in a position to experiment and this seems like a big risk to me with so many potential issue as well as doubling up on wages.

3.) 14 Feb 2017 20:09:16
im with you j i'm not a big fan of director of football Either. deboer also sounds good to me with mcleish to end of season

4.) 14 Feb 2017 20:18:19
I can't see someone like Frank De Boer or any other top manager working under a DoF at Rangers. I suppose it depends on who the DoF is and what kind of power they would have.

5.) 14 Feb 2017 21:46:32
Better off paying top wage for one top manager instead of a Director of Football coining it in as well in my opinion. One person to call the shots. Can do without any more conflict which these kind of proposed set ups can cause.

6.) 15 Feb 2017 00:08:11
Frank De Boer worked with a DOF at Ajax Marc Overmars, and had a DOF at Inter so he is uesed to it, a lot of clubs in England and abroad use DOF let's the manager concentrate on football and coaching

7.) 15 Feb 2017 00:36:28
Director of football is the way forward in football gives managers/ coachs more freedom too work with the team and train them instead of having too take time away and go hunt players and speak too them obviously it has too be two guys on the same wave length

I really want de boer in but I don't think we could give him the financial backing he would want too implement the changes we need in my opinion we require 2 center backs a right back a defensive mid a good passing mid a striker and a left mid

Does anyone seriously think Kidd is going too leave Man City assistant managers job too come too us I think there's as much chance us getting pep too come as our manager lol

8.) 15 Feb 2017 07:30:35
Don't think it can be de boer if Rangers want someone permanent as soon as possible, they won't wait till end of April for his decision.

9.) 15 Feb 2017 07:38:40
De Boer has always worked with a director of football/ head of recruitment. Overmars at Ajax and Piero Ausilio at Inter Milan. There isn't a big club in the world which doesn't use a figurehead to interpret affairs from a more distant view than from that of the 1st team manager.

10.) 15 Feb 2017 21:07:40
Frank de boer worked under a director of football at ajax mate!

11.) 15 Feb 2017 13:08:08
Mprent111 De Boer has always worked with a DoF, most foreign coaches are comfortable with it.

12.) 15 Feb 2017 14:06:54
I wasn't before but i think it is a good idea to make the change and appoint a DOF! As long as they stick to their pacific roles then it could really work well and bear fruit for our club! Should be an interesting few weeks ahead regarding the anticipation of who is appointed DOF and who is appointed head coach! I'd go for paul mitchell as DOF and either frank de boer/ garry monk as head coach!

25 Apr 2016 18:11:02
Alan Hutton on his was back to Rangers. Anybody else heard this?

Albertz

1.) 25 Apr 2016 19:29:49
He better not be he's rotten these days, I really can't see MW going for many ex players unless DW twists his arm.

2.) 25 Apr 2016 20:11:27
yes actually i heard it dunno if its true tho it was off another rumour sight.

3.) 25 Apr 2016 20:26:03
If warbs feels like he could do a job for us then i fully trust him but have a feelin wages would be a problem.

4.) 25 Apr 2016 20:20:11
Would take him back for when tavernier off the boil.

5.) 25 Apr 2016 20:38:21
Saw this aswell. If as i'm reading he's out of contract with villa and he's prepared to take a wage drop having experience in pl and international football can't be a bad thing surely?

6.) 25 Apr 2016 22:20:58
Year to run so no see would have to pay for Hutton.

7.) 26 Apr 2016 09:46:48
The villa fans twitter feed said yesterday that hutton has agreed a move to a Scottish team "probably Rangers"

8.) 26 Apr 2016 08:45:03
hutton will not be back at ibrox this season.

9.) 26 Apr 2016 11:22:24
Warbs has stated he wants all of his permanent signings in place before the squad comes back for pre season. So at least whether this is rumour or not were getting in early regarding potential signings.

10.) 26 Apr 2016 14:39:20
One of my pals knows Hutton well. Seems to think that villa will cancel his contract and that he himself wants away from the doom and gloom. Reckons he would take a big cut in wages to come back.

You have to remember that he never wanted to leave, he wanted bro reject spurs but was told by club that they desperately needed the cash. He described it as being emotionally blackmailed.

He doesn't think that club want him back though- as good a player as he is we have other positions that need filled.

Fact not fiction.

11.) 27 Apr 2016 17:05:32
He's a poor footballer that performs well once in fifty games anyway! Lacks a footballing mind, any real technical ability and his defensive positioning is diabolical for such an experienced player. Biggest result we ever got getting 9 mil for him! There must be hundreds of younger, cheaper and better alternatives.

30 Mar 2016 20:39:15
Waggy thinks he has a small chance of Celtic game.

Albertz

1.) 30 Mar 2016 21:44:16
Would be a huge boost.

2.) 31 Mar 2016 09:20:02
Even if he's fit he won't be match fit, but I hope he plays a couple of bounce games first before the Celtic game.

3.) 31 Mar 2016 13:34:04
If we could even get hom onto the bench think of the lift everybody would get. And if he could come on with ten minutes to go and score the winner. well I can but dream!

4.) 01 Apr 2016 18:04:24
@The Seeker yes you can dream. 3-0 Celtic, Scott Allan hat trick.

5.) 01 Apr 2016 19:10:14
Dn30
Who's Scott Alan?

6.) 01 Apr 2016 19:50:17
Dn30 great joke mate.

7.) 02 Apr 2016 14:08:25
matthew knox very very good player and very talented very young aswell gers fans teams all over britian have been watchin him he's supposed to be wonderkid aswell he's on trial at us just now but has been getting glowin reports so if we get this lad tied up on long deal then our future is lookin more the better and i'm not for 1 minute sayin he will be shevchenko like iv been sayin in my other posts but this lad is the real deal.

8.) 02 Apr 2016 17:28:46
What is it with you and shevchenko?!

9.) 02 Apr 2016 19:49:59
because luigi do u not think we need players like that up front in our team? how do u expect us to progress if all were going to do is get players on loan from teams down in england we should be getting our own players not takin other teams players and makin them better for there team when they go back if we can't bring in our own players then there's somethin wrong it rangers end off the day i work hard and pay good money for a season ticket every season its our money it pays those rangers players there wages so we have every right to express our feelings but my opinion players on loan is not what we need all the time do u not want to see rangers winnin the league and playin in the champions league?

10.) 02 Apr 2016 20:10:14
Agree loans aren't the way - they are a short term fix.

11.) 03 Apr 2016 11:36:38
Brian, what's your deal with shevchenko?

26 Jul 2017 12:23:39
So it's been finalised, no title stripping and case closed can't be reopened

Albertz

1.) 26 Jul 2017 13:48:52
Was never going to happen.

CFC will be ragin and will be seeking their own legal representation.

2.) 26 Jul 2017 15:02:58

4.) 26 Jul 2017 15:59:56
The comedy is all coming from your lot fergie, its hilarious you even think its anywhere near done. Just like Hector, we wait, then we strike. Patience is all that's required. Nobody wants the cheated titles, we just don't want the cheats to get away with it. Justice will be done

5.) 26 Jul 2017 16:16:22
No Chance Bhampot, just be happy were no winning more titles at the current moment, give yae a wee bit a time to catch up, we will wait patiently. then strike and win a few more titles. then a few more after that aswell =)

7.) 27 Jul 2017 00:37:55
the Pacific shelf 595 the newco fans will be absolutely raging!

8.) 27 Jul 2017 00:39:39
Doesn't stop the unwashed and all other quarters of the league having a pop. Glad it's settled to a degree, we can focus on the season ahead now and put this nonsense behind us.

Here's hoping for a good start and good performances in the last 2 friendly matches to get the majority of the team that will start the game against Motherwell more accustomed to competitive football together, still stand by that I believe the group will come good #optomisticloyal

9.) 27 Jul 2017 13:09:14
Everybody knows that Celtic operated a tax evasion scam when not declaring the true attendance at their home matches in the 60s and 70s. And that's when they won their 9 I.A.R. We were fined £250,000, Celtic received no punishment.

10.) 27 Jul 2017 13:10:50
Maybe we should start a campaign to have their titles removed when they lied about their home attendances in the 1960s and 70s

11.) 27 Jul 2017 13:11:42
cheating?

An inquiry into paying tax or not is not cheating - after all RFC did offer to settle and HMRC refused.

and if you know your history you will know all about cheating, and are probably the expert.

12.) 27 Jul 2017 13:15:02
You should go read there page a few of them going to need heart ops to cure the heartache lol. what pure waffle they spouting. a load of them greeting they ain't signing players to get into cl. greeting they got no defence and worried very worried and so they should be it's a proper giggle reading them haha.

06 Nov 2016 19:18:24
Football should be like a bag of revels, put your hand in the bag and don't know what's coming out. But to our opponents we are more like a bag of malteasers, same every time.

Albertz

1.) 06 Nov 2016 19:50:35
Albertz. that was beautiful. Eric cantona couldn't have put it any better 😂👍🏿.

2.) 06 Nov 2016 22:35:51

20 Sep 2016 21:51:19
I think Halliday getting the arm band tonight shows a statement to Barton.

Albertz

1.) 20 Sep 2016 22:04:55
Not a huge admirer of Halliday but it was great to see a leader on the field tonight shouting and driving the team on!

2.) 20 Sep 2016 22:16:59
Rangers back to one touch learning every week suton with his dry words but warburton showing why he's a manager and Sutton-in-Ashfield a bull shotter lol come on the gers.

3.) 21 Sep 2016 08:26:34
if Sutton hadn't been a footballer he would either have been a pro diver or in jail.

20 Sep 2016 00:32:50

Snell. At the moment they have time on their hands for other bids to come in. Like we and Celtic have done in the past and English trams have done to us, wait until there's not much time and make another bid. That way time won't be on their hands and imo they would be more likely to sell.

Wait until nearer the end of the window when a club ate more likely to accept a bid as they won't have the time for more offers to possibly come in.
