Alan Pardew. Sam Allerdyce. Frank De Boer. 3 available managers that would do a bit for us!

AGB84

1.) 26 Oct 2017 15:15:59
no de boer for me. would cost a fortune and failed at palace same way pedro failed with us. trying to force methods that didn't suit a team or league

2.) 26 Oct 2017 15:26:13
Pardew for me but would be happy with allardyce

3.) 26 Oct 2017 15:26:18
No padrew either. I remember him absolutely slating Scottish football on a couple of occasions whilst talking about Forster when he was Newcastle manager. That was a few years ago when the league was actually competitive as well.
Plus he only ever seems to get one good initial season from a team then fades and I think we now need someone long term,
Also his links to mike Ashley and I would recommend we stay well clear.
Much better options available.

4.) 26 Oct 2017 15:26:40
Would maybe take Pardew? The guy is a better manager than Rodgers in my opinion.

5.) 26 Oct 2017 15:36:35
Redknapp or Pardew for me

6.) 26 Oct 2017 16:04:04
Seen somewhere else if Big Sam takes another club job before Jan 2019 he is due Palace £2 million quid. Not sure how true but could scunner any chance before we even get to ask the question.

7.) 26 Oct 2017 16:28:18
Of the 3 you mention I'd take Allerdyce all day, the players would be playing for the jersey with him in charge. Whoever takes over I wish them all the best and they must be given time. Yet to see a club who change managers a lot get success.

8.) 26 Oct 2017 16:38:25
You actually think these guys would come to us? We've just pished £10m+ up against the wall over the last 8 months. Where would the money come from to allow us to.

a) Pay the wages for these managers and their back room staff
b) Pay for the players they would inevitably want.

That's before you even ask yourself "Why would they want to come". let's face it, we are somewhat of a poisoned chalice at the moment. Who would want to touch us, other than the likes of Billy Davies and Alex Mcliesh

At least Brenda was enjoying his severance from Liverpool, + a huge wage from Celtic on a rolling contract + he was joining the league champions with a chance of getting into the Champions League groups. He couldn't lose, and he literally hasn't domestically.

What could this club possibly offer these names other than the fans loyal support to the club. The Rangers fans backed Pedro and Warburton, two unknown, untested managers, home and Away, travelling up and down the country for what? To be ridiculed last season and to be Papped out the cup by essentially a Sunday league amateur team at the weekend and then that farce last night which might I add, is the most brutal thing I have seen at Ibrox in all my years, including Egil Østenstad.

Our problem is much bigger than just picking a manager from the list quoted guys.

So, the Rangers board have their most important decision to make in the clubs history, they must not take it lightly and they must think about one thing and one thing only. Stopping Celtic, not catching them, not sneaking a draw occasionally, they must stop them, and stop them winning 10 in a row, because that is the sh*t that sticks. its that simple. Not a aggregated plan over 2, 3, or 4 years. It must be done now. They have to invest heavily, without expecting anything in return because that's what the fans have done for the past 5 going on 6 years and the other 140 years before that.

9.) 26 Oct 2017 16:42:27
Anyone bar Davies or Mcinnes
The job is way too big for either

10.) 26 Oct 2017 16:47:41
I think we are going to end up with billy davies on a deal till the end off the season and this will result in us finishing 4th he's a shocking manager

Sad too see Pedro go guy never got a good enough chance in my eyes but time too move on

I don't see anyone available out there that will do any better hope I'm proven wrong but because the one thing I want is just for the team too move forward with some stability

11.) 26 Oct 2017 17:03:50
really, u all wanted someone with rangers blood and new scottish football

12.) 26 Oct 2017 17:22:12
Rik I don't think I've ever read a more contradictory post ever. You start by saying we can't get a manager and we have wasted £10 million. End by saying we must get a top manager and invest. I would not mind betting if Morelos keeps playing as he has he alone may be worth the 10m.
I agree its a poisoned chalice atm but we have to keep believing or what's the alternative?

13.) 26 Oct 2017 18:21:37
Has to be McLeish surely, unless DoF has someone in mind.

14.) 26 Oct 2017 18:23:59
Alan pardew no way on earth is he a rangers manager, it can only be eck. Here we go bears finally we will get back on track.

15.) 26 Oct 2017 18:29:05
Jj tp take over . Will benefit the youth . Watch this space

16.) 26 Oct 2017 18:30:20
cant afford any of this lot- pie in the sky- And none of them would come up here anyway.

17.) 26 Oct 2017 18:31:53
Chris Coleman ., Alan Pardew or Neil Warnock for me

18.) 26 Oct 2017 18:32:17
Mcinnes. Easy

19.) 26 Oct 2017 18:33:59
Big Sam for me but needs to get rid of pedros duds and get Monday in jan that is a must

20.) 26 Oct 2017 18:35:11
Has to be Walter for the remainder of the season. He is the only man we can trust and has club interest at heart. He has nothing to prove and will steady the ship.

21.) 26 Oct 2017 18:45:13
I would ask Walter to take over for the rest of the season then go for Michael O'neil, don't want eck back and billy Davies no thanks

22.) 26 Oct 2017 18:58:16
If Morelos keeps playing the way he has he'll be worth 10 pence not 10 million.

23.) 26 Oct 2017 20:25:07
First post fellow bears . anybody else in my eyes bar mcinnes is a gamble as we’re doing 2 things . taking the sheeps manager from them and giving them our problem and do we have the money to take the gamble and go for Big Sam, Pardew or guys of that calibre? . They command good pays, very good budgets and the chance the might not come due to the state were in financialy and squad wise and incase they harm they're profile/ reputation, hence mcinnes is a safe bet . to get some stability back and cement 2nd place and a chance to build a decent squad . I’d love Big Sam but we can’t afford him at the moment, back to basics guys and just had a text that Patrick viera is interested as he’s mark Allan’s mate . to much of a gamble

24.) 26 Oct 2017 21:29:26
o’neill or coleman what a load of rubbish great what they've done in international football but their both countries that have zero pressure from the fans totally different set up with us the fans are fed up of watching dross the new man nds to hit the ground running our clubs success advocaat aside has bn built on proper british hard graft allardyce or neil warnock for me both no nonsense managers and are thick skinned enough to not be bothered by the constant celtic minded pundits in scottish taking pops at our club every chance they get massive decision for the board they've ballsed it up twice now hopefully the DOF will have some input this time who ever it is needs to bring back the NO LIKES US WE don't CARE attitude to the club because scottish teams are more interested in keeping us down than trying to beat the rats

25.) 27 Oct 2017 09:18:23
Blue Pete. I understand what your saying, but, I am talking in general terms of investment into the squad, not blowing your whack just to get a name in to try and appease the fans. I mean investment by bringing in the quality of player to beat Celtic. I don't care if you think i am contradicting myself when I say the names quoted are out with out price range. THEY ARE BY THE WAY, but we are in Dire Straits and its bigger than just bringing in a manager with a name as I fear no one man alone can fix this with the squad we have.

The board needs to show the fans that have supported this team through its darkest days in its history, by supporting the next manager be it Murty, McInnes, or whoever by building a team that doesn't just try to "Compete" but Beats Celtic. We have guys that have the money, that have sat in the shadows for the past 5 years that must band together and Take the Hit, and get this club back to where it should be.

Said when we signed Niko he was passed it. Still has passing ability but that's about it. And yesterday totally backed that up. His passing was shocking aswell to be fair!

Great result considering the rest of the team carried him.

He shouldn't be near the team sheet again.

Apparently there are funds available to sign players. Probably 2 I would imagine. Doubt we could get Murphy as 1mill might be out our reach. think walker would be a decent signing and if the board dug deep and found the funds Murphy. Naismith. Davis (would love this) . and maybe 1 or 2 loan signings. caulker would be good for the defence. Just his wages would be a problem. Not saying we can or would sign all these players but couple would deffinetly strengthen the team.

AGB84

1.) 31 Dec 2017 10:30:46
Niko is never the player he once was however and I know anyone who's played football will understand that a player at niko age and considering his lack of games and niggles he's had over the past season then the only way he will show his ability is to be given time to get match fit! An hour or so in the next half dozen games then I reckon you would see more of the old maestro back

2.) 31 Dec 2017 10:43:59
Think it depends on departures too. So far the papers have speculated about Foderingham, Tavernier, Alves, Cardoso, Pena, Windass and Herrera

3.) 31 Dec 2017 11:43:06
All can go apart from fod n tav.

Maybe Herrera could get a run in the team and see how he is given a chance.

I think Murty rates windass

4.) 01 Jan 2018 11:57:47
Think Foderingham will remain . it was Warburton wanting to sign him and he's been bumped

07 Dec 2017 20:53:41
Glad to be fair I think we have dodged a bullet with Mcinnes if he got the job would have backed him.

Who's the next manager then?

Jack Ross for me I said it not to long ago and think he along with the way the club are going Director of Football etc. Could be a great long term manager.

Gets his team's playing good football and isn't afraid to have ago. Might not be everyone's 1st choice but I think he should be in the running.

AGB84

1.) 07 Dec 2017 21:14:17
AGB. Agree we dodged a bullet. He was not the answer. I think half the support have same opinion going by polls earlier in week. Jack Ross is a good shout but lacks top level experience and would be another risk. Team up murty and someone experienced (ie mcleish) to end of season and take it from there. Its the obvious answer.

2.) 07 Dec 2017 21:19:47
I wanted McInnes but think he saw the extra stress it would bring and bottled it.

Murtys got to get it and I have faith he will do a good job.

Jack Ross is a very promising looking manager but would be a massive step to a club this size

3.) 07 Dec 2017 21:27:58
Jack ross is a great shout.

4.) 08 Dec 2017 01:27:20
AGB
All due respect jack ross long term
stopping 10
think about it

5.) 08 Dec 2017 09:35:58
If you cast your mind back to last season.

Celtic v st. mirren

St. mirren literally had them on the ropes.

Brendan Rodgers said its the best team celtic had played all season.

Jack Ross. Great shout

02 Dec 2017 18:18:11
Give Jack Ross the job! Every name that's been branded about might manage at a higher level but this guy gets his team's playing great football. And he's done wonders for the teams he's been at.

It might not be the time to try someone like this but whoever it's going to be is going to have a job on their hands.

We can't afford some of these names either unless the board fined a lot of loose change kicking about! Gio, DeBoer, Alex Neil, Warnock these guys are under contracts even mcinnes! Although the rumour mill has that now 100% done. Any of these names will have to hit the ground running. Jack Ross. Give him time to build and he will be our manager for years to come.

AGB84

1.) 02 Dec 2017 19:01:37
The problem is a lot of our fans will not
give anyone time so whoever it is will
have to hit the ground running or we will
be spending our player budget on managers

2.) 02 Dec 2017 19:17:16
Jaxk Ross isn’t experienced enough for the job

3.) 02 Dec 2017 19:40:53
All valid points bears and everybody will have different criteria for the job.

Mine would be:

Improves existing players with good coaching
Motivates players to play at there best on a consistent basis
Develops young players
Gets young players into the team
Not constrained to a particular system, adaptable
Ambitious

For me Jack Ross ticks more boxes than McInnes. If McInnes gets the job I’m behind him 100% and he will tick more boxes with people who have different requirements.

4.) 02 Dec 2017 23:37:01
Jack ross seriously?

02 Dec 2017 01:18:37
If the rumours are true about Mcinnes then I hope the board back him or whoever for that matter comes in with some funds in January.

Staying with Mcinnes would like a Barry Ferguson and Kevin Thomson coaching team! Think they have the right mentality and passion for bringing the best out the team. Get them fired up and give some knowledge and belief to the younger generation of players.

As for an assistant? Would he bring Docherty? Any thoughts?

AGB84

1.) 02 Dec 2017 07:43:03
Of course he will bring Docherty, why would he not. He is his right hand, tried and trusted through years of working together. Can't believe you are even asking this!

25 Oct 2017 22:00:22
Jack's an idiot for reacting but it was only a push! Ref got it wrong unless there was another incident I haven't seen. Players need to take a good look at themselves! Nota bit of heart or fight amoung them.

Warburton only had plan A but at least he had a plan! Pedro your time is up. 5 points out of 5 home games isn't good enough!

4-4-2 isn't working not got the players to play that! Midfield gets over ran and bullied. Need an Alan Pardew-Sam Allerdyce type of manager someone who's not going to let these fairy bastards away with this type of perfomance.

Someone who knows how to get players playing for them. And working to whether for a win wether it's great football and 5-0 or a 1-0 hard fought.

**** it! Raging man.

Joerfc hopefully I'm wrong about my comments.

I think Cardoso is a good player just a bit nieve

Stand by my comments about the mexicans but will obviously give them time. And hopefully they improve.

Aye Herrera took his goal well. But he had a chance just before that and made a right arse of it.

How can someone be class if he can't get about the park. He's past it! Hopefully Harry snaps him up for Birmingham.

I never said bring them all in surely we could afford 1 or 2 of them.

We have always pinched players from other teams in scotland. So why not do the same now?

Need to build a younger more energetic team. None of this OAP carry on.

Am not trying to pick a fight boys just think we can do better.
