My thoughts on yesterday.
Penalty to Rangers✅
Red card✅
Dug in and still created chances on the break second half.
Really good team performance.
Great to see 2 academy players on the park in the second half.
Thought Sterling looked decent again.
I thought Butland was a wee bit easy on the ball at his feet at times.
Sima is a huge asset to the team.
3 points and onwards to Thursday.
Oh, and Father Clancy is a nightmare?.

Very well summed up mate. Butland was stressing me yesterday. 2 or 3 times yesterday he was very casual on the ball. Its possibly a roll that sterling can grow into as positionally he was drifting all over with a role that's alien to him. Would be bit of a risk throwing him in there sunday. But were rapidly running out of options. Think john Souttar would be far better suited to the CDM roll imo.

I don’t know why most posters want Shankland, he’s a decent player but that’s all, he’s no Coisty. PC will have some one in mind and if it’s not Shankland then I wouldn’t lose much sleep over it.

Hi Carrick, I think that Shankland possesses all of the skills we don't have at present up front, apart from Sima, I honestly feel that him and Abdalah would be a revelation.

Hope you’re right Portger, it’s his age that bugs me 28 going 29, I’d just prefer a younger guy, I know these players are at a premium, but Hearts will ask big money for their prized asset, no sell on value, maybe I’m looking at it the wrong way?

I reckon that Butland's nervousness yesterday was down to his centre backs. Souttar did not play well and is not an adequate replacement for Gouldson.

Souttar was poor at the start but I thought he was much better second half when we had to do a lot more defending of our box, that's what he has always been good at. By the way the red card was a joke, he only caught Bakayoko high because he slid in and his leg was on the ground, even then there was very little force behind it. I`ve seen far worse not given in other games recently. I don`t know who was in VAR but with Clancy on the pitch and and Muir as 4th official I can only assume it was the surviving Chuckle Brother .

Carrick we need someone in January who knows the league and can hit the ground running. Shankland is the only option imo. We can't be bringing someone in whose going take 2 months to settle because the league will be gone by then if we don't get the correct striker in.
