Hi All.

Just a bit of a step change discussion away from the manager chat, who i'm very happy with btw.

The Union Bears

I thought of doing this as an 'open letter' to them (if any of them view these pages) .

If it wasnt for you lads, the atmosphere would be non-existent. But these paramilitary/ historical songs are so out of date and out of step and mean nothing/ do nothing to inspire the players.

Before I'm dismissed as a liberal snowflake or whatever, I've been in the orange order and a flute band and been to these places regularly you sing about. I've seen the ills and have NI friends who have lived through the troubles and lost family and businesses etc. As a lot of your fellow fans have on here.

Grasp this change in manager/ DoF/ atmosphere around the club to make changes to your songbook.

You're a brilliant asset to the club and the Match day experience. don't alienate yourselves from the club/ mainstream fan base.

And don't give the enemies of our club the ammunition to keep hurting us with.

I've belted out the Billy boys many times many years ago, with no idea where it came from initially.
Older wiser (maybe? ), and can't get to games anymore, but we don't want to RIP the atmosphere out the place. Surely someone smarter than me can change the words?

Totally agree. Cringe watching away games when you hear them in full voice! Wish sky would use the fifa background noise like they did during C.V..

Btw I don’t get offended by any of the singing just think they could come up with some new songs to create a more inclusive atmosphere.

Well said, huge asset to the club and the players love it when they hear songs specific to them being sung by the Union bears. More of that and less if the 80’s stuff And you’d continue to be a huge credit and asset to the club and no one could criticise whatsoever!

The union bears will never bring anything but shame to our club, bunch of little neds with about 6 pubes between the lot of them. Every single week these little morons spray paint fck the polis union bears all over the front and back of my business costing me a small fortune to paint over it. The quicker those little punks and there's songs of hatred get banned from ibrox the better.

as a former business owner i absolutely feel for you bb, and agree wholeheartedly, they don't sing for me or in my name, we absolutely don't need them
, ibrox has done ok fir decades without theses clowns, they are the reason the songs don't dissappear for eternity, they keep it up front and in our kids heads, and some couldn't tell you a thing about our history, I've always thought the club should be bigger and dispense with that section, and show the mafia at parkhead we are bigger than them too and not scared to chase them.

Well said boy blue. The club needs to rethink their attitude regarding this group and while they may bring noise the atmosphere is not nice. Any challenge to their behaviour is met with threats and hostility. The quicker the club deal with them the better for everyone.
