I’ve said it before John, the Tim’s are moving light years away from us… Guaranteed CL money, better shirt sales with a great brand and 10k season ticket holders than us and also running their transfer market correctly???.

It is absolutely not worrying times, it's the best way to move forward. Another couple to join and maybe the decisions with the clubs and fans best interests at heart can be made. Absolutely fantastic news, but just a start. I give it 2 hours before someone makes the Mike Ashley shout again. Resigning also doesn't mean he's selling, so in no way is it worrying.

Could we be set for the return of King? Would fans be supportive of King returning?

Personally, I don't think King will ever return. Infact, as soon as he gets someone to pay him what he wants for his shares, I believe he'll sell.

Agreed Herewego55!
Park Jnr should have went a long time ago. After the idiot proposed that plonker from Portugal as manager, he should have cleared his desk out the day we showed pedro the door! Hopefully now his dad has gone, he'll go too.

Really don’t understand the criticism of Douglas Park and people thinking now he’s away it’s a guarantee things will be much better. Park was a major factor in the board that rescued us after the shambles of the previous board and stuck all his own money in at times to get us back to a competitive level. After stopping 10IAR for them, it was a clear we’d spent more than we could sustain to achieve that and we set about trying to make the club self sufficient. Pocketing Large amounts of money from player sales and European runs. I think people tend to forget where we were before Douglas Park and co took control. Anyone thinking now that Park is away that all of a sudden someone else is going to step in and we’ll start splashing large amounts of cash on big name players is going to be very disappointed I’d say. Things might end up worse now Park has stepped away. Interesting to see how things run for us moving forward.

Any change at the top means uncertainty irrespective of the Business but it also means opportunity.
While Parks was an important part of the Group that wrestled control from Green and Co., King also played a major part in this and the subsequent removal of Ashley and there remains a strong and wealthy team in the Boardroom.

We need to remember that Douglas Park isn't getting any younger and there will be good arguments that the time had come for us to move forward on and off the park with change needed across the Club.

There has been continuing rumour of new Investment and we should remember that Stuart Gibson recently increased his stake to 10%+

We should expect to see new Board Members and Parks Jnr., (an individual that has come in for wide criticism), will no longer have his father to look after him, which could lead to his departure.

There has also been criticism of Stewart Robertson and it remains to be seen what impact, if any, Park's departure will have on his tenure as Managing Director.

What is fundamentally important is that Michael Beale is given the financial support to bring in the quality of player needed to bring the SPL Championship Trophy back to Ibrox.

Douglas Park in his exit statement said that he was proud of his tenure, and that he leaves the Club in a stronger and more stable position, that indicates to me that he has left to concentrate on his other business interests, and not because of any impending crisis or uncertainty.
