I can't believe that some on here are trying to define a serious assault or a headbutt. For goodness sake, I just watched it again. The moron walks straight towards and behind Alonso, pulls his head back and butts him on the back of the head. That's assault.

It’s not serious assault but it’s definitely a headbutt and an incredibly daft thing to do. If I head butted somebody while I was working then I’d get sacked so I expect the same to happen to him. They weren’t even arguing when the guy done it which makes it all the more stupid.

There is No investigation required by Rangers football club the world saw exactly what happened there are no mitigating circumstances.

No one is ever a hero for assaulting someone on the pitch or anywhere else.
The man holds a very responsible position with young impressionable footballers don’t compare his actions with those of players.

I expect Rangers to carry out a proper Investigation and then sack him. Personally I would give him the chance to resign although they can still investigate and punish him. However let him resign and issue an apology. Any Rangers player that gets sent off for being a fud should get fined. They should have switched on and got brown sent off feck sake. It’s not serious assault but in the context of it not being in Bridgeton between 2 pissed nuggets but at a professional football match and he caught him when he was defenceless and unaware, in front of sky camera’s and between old firm coaches will probably mean a visit from Scotlands finest. John an EAT would probably take the stance that with or without a proper investigation, gross misconduct to which a fair punishment is instant dismissal. Still best though to go through a process. The police investigation again has no bearing on civil matters which the employment contract is. He hasn’t resigned with immediate effect, the club haven’t sacked him or released a statement. Thinking sit it out and chats behind scenes. Oh the west of Scotland, got to love it. People moan about the union bears feck sake.
