If it s all negative then something ain't right at the club because there is no winning finals, cups leagues to be positive about and I've already mentioned the budgets we have compared to the rest and the amount spent on players past 5 years super exceeds the rest bar Celtic

I'm sick of reading and hearing we should be happy we should be postive while we carry on spending millions each season on players who are not able to carry us forward while Celtic just go and get them without a moments notice without a hesitation and see instant results in the park

And if he’s going to put an opinion on a banter site ( like a lot of us do ) , then you are going to get someone’s opinion back.

StigI couldn’t tell who is negative or who is always blindly positive, I just reply to posts directed at me or just in general. I can’t be bothered looking up stats etc so off the top of my head. In 71 when Johnstone scored that was the first trophy in 4 years. When Stein in 75 scored, that was to stop 10 in a row. History shows that both teams go through droughts. Now in the last 3 years inclusive of this year we have won the league, the cup, Europa league final, league cup final and champs league qualification. On paper not bad. However “we are the people” won’t sound so good if Celtic over take our total of trophies. However I don’t think a lot of us are saying we are not bothered about not winning because we are still here and that's all matters, the journey back stopped when we won the league. Objectively people differ. Some see the short term, some see the long term and some don’t see anything. Me personally thinks the board and Wilson won’t survive next year with the same results outcome. Therefore optimistic things will change. But wee story. Sitting in a Gers pub and we had just got Ricksen and big Bert and I thought what a team we will have, but said my mate, hope this didn’t blow up in our face. Well 6-2. Who knows what’s around the corner. The warning shots were fired on Saturday, let’s see how it pans out.

Great Post stig and I agree with every word the prob we have is too many are hoping things will turn out OK well it won't unless decisions are made now to gut that squad of serial loser a DOF who sanctioned many of the signings and some on our board who are content with 2nd place and warning the odd few quid by a euro run every few years.

Sweep regarding board members friends etc can’t see it. Maybe some just see what the alternative is might not be nice. Ashley etc. However most fans don’t care about the workings of a club or business. They want success. So we can rattle on about what’s best for business etc, the troops just want their pay or success. “Every other Saturday” still rings true.

Hi John, I can se where you're coming from, I do see progress albeit not so much this season, but we over-achieved last season which whetted everyone's appetite. I don't know if not was yourself that mentioned in a post that the Europa League was just as lucrative for us than the CL, I would agree as I feel that's more our level, the finance available from playing Scotland is too insignificant to compete against the big hitters nowadays.

Invger. I don’t think champions league is not our level. Agree perhaps we went ahead of schedule with Europe runs but was qualification for champs league this year not part of 22/ 23 plan or is that a bonus due to our player trading success? Europe and Player trading are a big part of our business and my concern is that we may be about to hit a bad patch especially if we don’t qualify for Europe.
