John I see you have posted some names you have heard in relation to next manager of our club,
I think this is very worrying developments if that is the imagination and ambition of the club.

Others have suggested Duncan ferguson and again I would not be convinced, playing for rangers is not a qualification.

People may want a manager with success in the spfl well unfortunately there is none available.

What's all this talk of a new manager. Gio is still in the job just now so, nothing happening till that changes. If the board sack him, and replace him with Callum Davidson then that would be a shocking decision but, would the whole of the board room accept that. I'm not so sure they would.

We can not afford financially to sack Gio guys.

He has a contract and he would be happy to get a few millions in compenstion no doubt.

If the board did sack Gio (emphasis on If), and replace him with anyone the calibre of Davidson, then we are in big trouble. Davidson done amazingly well winning 2 cups, but is there anyone on here who thinks this could work? If (and it's a big If) these stories are true, the board are playing a dangerous game.
In the past, during the dark days, and before Gerrard, fans would have accepted this as we were a basket case of a club, and we would have tried anything (we did), but not now. From winning the league, the final of the EL, to sacking Gio, to appointing Davidson, there's no way the majority of fans will accept this. Some will (we know who will on here), but the vast majority won't. If the board want to alienate fans more, then this is what will do it. As long as Park Jnr, with the backing of his father, remains on our board, then anything is possible. When that fud brought in that useless lump of skin and bones Pedro, that should have sounded his own death knell, and when the Portuguese plonker went, Park Jnr should have went too.

I could be wrong but I don’t believe the board will pay off Giovanni which would would potentially mean also paying off all his back room team costing us millions,
If rumours are true then to me it’s more likely to be more that Gio has eyes on another job and the board plus Mark Wilson are making moves in the background to replace him quickly.
It could also be that this other job he has his eyes on don’t want to pay the compensation creating an unsettling situation.
Again no inside info so I am just speculating on the rumours so could well be wrong.

For me Gio hasn't done anything to warrant being sacked, yes it was a shocking performance in the old firm but at this moment they are blowing everyone away. We came up against a very good Ajax side, the red card in the Napoli match changed the game after a decent start. Gio took us to a European final, won the Scottish cup, got us qualified for the champions league. We spent between 10 and 15 mil on signings, we're also on the FFP watch list for this season so spending needs to be checked, we've been unlucky with injuries and some personal circumstances that are outwith our control. Some players take longer to settle, Lundstrom is a final example of that. I think once we get that settled back line, hopefully the injury list eases up soon, we will see a marked difference.

Question folks, if Gio walks or is sacked, what Manager would touch us with a barge pole. After the heights we reached last season, I feel at best you would get someone who wouldn't cope with European Football, just my opinion folks, Callum Davidson, nice guy, but what level would he take us to.
