Who remembers the days when you went to the football and you couldn't care less who the match officials were. Not once have i went to a match and took any interest in who is officiating the game. Fast forward a few years and now it seems to be the main focus for many fans and the scrutiny on the officials is unbelievable. Its very easy for the fans who get to see 10 different replays slowed down from all angles to make their decision but referees get 1 chance in real time to make a split second decision. It must be one of the toughest jobs in sport and a thankless task. I take my hat off to all the refs who put themselves in the firing line every week. The abuse these guys get is bang out of order IMO.

Correct. We have had our fair share of wrongful decisions go our way. Swings and roundabouts.

Sick of hearing about refs. As the boys say take care of your own business poor refs ain't going away and only come into play when we let our standard slip.

Some decisions you get some you don’t, that’s life, for me, it’s the inconsistency from the refs that is appalling, like awarding a yellow for a foul only to let it go 10 mins later for the same thing, or not clamping down on blatant persistent fouling when you’re against Aberdeen or United, they’ve no desire to win a ball. Other than that, if we play as we should each week, we wouldn’t be discussing them.

No Livibear i can't remember a Bob Valentine but i remember my dad talking about Tiny Wharton right enough. I also bumped into the ref Willie Young on Royal Troon golf course when the open was played there in 2004. But my best ref story is Kenny Clarke was my lawyer years ago when i got banned from driving years ago.
