Looking forward to back to bread and butter of SPL. Had a fantastic time with friends in Dubai, thanks to John and Ed for the advice in places to visit.
Will certainly go back but not too sure if l could stay there ed. You have been there too long if you thought it was Baltic ed, was lovely and warm. 😎

Looking for a performance in our game tomorrow.

{Ed001's Note - I don't think you can be here too long mate! Glad you enjoyed it.}

Guys can’t agree about Dubai, been there a few times and can never get away fast enough. Completely soulless and devoid of any real character or identity. Give me Loch Lomond or Skye anytime. Good climate though.

Have to agree Bankie. Everything that’s wrong with the world papped in the middle of a desert. Been offered a few jobs there and my response has always been you couldn’t pay me enough.

{Ed001's Note - everything that's wrong with the world? You really have no idea what you are talking about.}

Ed01, I’d qualify theswagmans comment and say much that is wrong in the modern world is readily evident in Dubai.

{Ed001's Note - you clearly have no idea either. Obviously both white and middle-classed who have forgotten what country they live in. If you think this is what is wrong in the modern world, then you must walk around with your eyes shut to what is happening in the UK.}

Ed01, your reply is offensive, incorrect and shows you up in a very poor light.

{Ed001's Note - me? You whine about somewhere being all that's wrong in the world, while living in a city that has to have hundreds of foodbanks just to feed its people. Where you can't even exist in peace when you have the same bloody religion because of intolerance and bigotry about a war from hundreds of years ago, but you call a country where people from hundreds of countries and all creeds and religions exist peacefully (in the main) all that is wrong with the world? And you think I am incorrect? Ok whatever.}

Any jobs going out there Ed? Haha would love to move n visit the place. What do paramedics or EMTs make out there?

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea mate. You would have to look it up but there are usually jobs available, especially with the Expo this year there should be work for those kind of jobs.}

I have to say Ed I’ve been to Dubai the last 6yrs for a week at a time, always in July or August (you can’t say it’s too cool at that time of year haha) . Always found the people to be really nice, friendly and welcoming. Also never felt safer walking about a place at night as I do in Dubai. Only criticism is the wife lives diamonds and although a fraction of the price over there it still costs me a fortune! 😂.

{Ed001's Note - no, it is way too hot then! Much cheaper to visit that time of year but you miss out on a lot of the things to do such as Global Village.}

It’s a place of obscene, dripping wealth. A place for the rich. I’m working class and very proud of it. And very left wing and it’s an absolute disgrace that we have food banks in this country. Dubai is not the real world, it’s a fantasy land built on the blood, sweat and tears of the exploited. Do some research into how your utopia was built and paid for.

{Ed001's Note - it is far from that, it is not what you think it is. You are not allowed zero hour contracts here, for instance. There is a lot less exploitation going on here than ever there has been in the UK. Typical of the ignorant to come out with this crap when they are in no position to throw stones at all. You might want to look into history and realise who actually set it up and why it was how it seems you think it still is. Yes, that's right, the British set it up and its government and the laws etc.

There is exploitation everywhere, but, unlike in the UK, the govt here actually looks to change the law to stop it, rather than introduce measures to allow more of it to happen. Funnily enough, the changes have come about with the reduction of British influence and exploitation of the region.

What you see is not what this place is. The tourist ideal to bring in visitors to allow what is in essence just a trading post between east and west to grow into a city that provides for the future. They haven't ever relied on oil, it has always been less than a quarter of their income. Tourism and particularly shoppers are the lifeblood of this place. And that provides huge numbers of jobs for people that then provide for their families back home.

Don't get me wrong, it is far from perfect, there are companies that exploit workers, but it is not legal exploitation like you seem to believe. That has long gone and your kind of comments are based on antiquated ideas, the kind of crap that is just embarrassing in its pure ignorance.

This reminds me of the nonsense that came out about China exploiting their workers because they were paying them only £X a week, when British workers would get 10 times that. What they didn't bother to look into is what a living wage is in China, and that X is enough to look after their family and live well. The biggest problems were companies such as Apple, that did come in and exploit it and employed small children to build their products. However the west still lauded Steve Jobs as some kind of messiah, when he was building a fortune off the back of child slave labour.}

Ed0, the only person whining on here is your good self. Sounds like your fighting the revolution from your bunker in downtown Dubai.

{Ed001's Note - no, I am just not ignorant and spreading untruths.}

Let's talk about the Bears! And Ed . edit to ensure this Rangers site remains all about Rangers. There are other sites to discuss the rights and wrongs in the world. Onwards.
