I said last week on this site that it was on our local TV that Davis would only sign a loan contract until the end of his Southampton contract, thus keeping his £60,000 per week. Then after he is free if Rangers still want him he’ll sign under their offer, that scenario was in sky sports this morning.

Wouldnt hold your hopes on that one. If that was the case why did he not sign a pre contract?

That’s a good point phil.

That's actually great news and believe its much the same with Defoe.

Got to remember not all signings go to plan or the players are not up to the expectations.

Great move by the club to make sure we are not lumbered with long term wages commitment at this stage.

Best move all round surely regarding Davis. He gets to run down his contract on 60k a week from Southampton, we get to see if he is still the player he used to be before committing and no fee for him in summer for him if he and us decide to make it permanent.

Phil

Possibly to see how he gets on and how his fitness is. If he doesn’t do well then we aren’t tied to him.

It’s win win situation with Davis. He’s a great player but we are not getting the same player who left us. What a player he was and let’s hope he turns it on for us🇬🇧.
