Anyone on here wanting gerrard sacked are off their head, last week we were top of the league and still with a chance of qualifying for the knockout stages of the europa league, a couple of bad results and everyone is losing there mind. Time to get behind the manager, it's easy to support a team when we are winning. The Tims love it when we are all fighting amongst each other, with a bit of solidarity we might get somewhere. In all honest if you look at the match on Sunday logically, we were without arguably our 2 best players and we also had a perfectly good goal chopped off, so even we played craap we still should have got the 3 points, but that's football.

goph, are you suggesting its the fans fault for not supporting our team enough? Our new manager has no tactics at all and has signed some right mince. We had 45 minutes against 10 men to do something after gerrards half time team talk and all we did was lump the ball into their box and on the few occasions the ball made it the keeper just plucked it out of the air! How many shots did we have in that second half? I feel as if I'm watching the same guff as the previous few seasons. Last week we WERE top of the league so gerrard dismantled the defense, for no real reason, and rebuilt a worse one. None of the players are getting the rocket they deserve for lack of desire and that's unacceptable. The Gers fans were singing to the end yesterday but when the dust settles its time for the post mortem and players and manager will cop some stick.

I’ve not heard any serious talk about wanting rid of the manager. However I do agree with some points jyf makes the aimless balls into the box that either the keeper caught or their centre halves headed away was ridiculous. It was clear it wasn’t working but the players continued to do that. I also don’t know why no one tried some shots from outside the box. Do the players not practice shooting in training.

I don’t think SG should be sacked but he shouldn’t be above criticism.

Compare the team now and at the beginning of the season. Aberdeen away we knocked the ball about, flew into tackles and looked really positive. 2nd half against Vienna again outstanding.

Coulibaly looked a driving force, Ejaria was going by players and although a little awkward looked as though he would be a bit of a player. Goldson and Katic looked solid, tav and Candias looked great on the right and Arfield looked as though he was score double figures. Left side was always a bit of a concern. No naturally left sided attacker but Middleton came in and done ok especially in Europe and Barisic looked to have potential in an attacking sense.

However since the Aberdeen semi final we have been way off the boil. Defence never the same. Goldson Katic and Worral are all lacking confidence, the captaincy looks too much for Tav, Flannigan at left back is a disaster, Grezda is truly awful, Candias and Middleton won’t go by the full backs, Coulibaly and Ejaria look like a shadow of the players they were and I’m sorted but Ryan Jack is and never will be good enough.

Something isn’t quite right st the minute and SG needs to sort it pronto or our season will be done before the beggars come to town.

dont want stevie G to get the sack, think its ridiculous it being brought up. but its all the same posts with the same conclusions that need to be addressed. We either work the ball into the box or hit early crosses, which isn't working. things work in training but we need more in our arsenal than that. None of players attempt a shot from out the box they end up losing it working it wide and it comes to nothing. If we don't test the keeper were not going to score. Also loan signings like worral that has a clear contract of game time, katic and goldson were great together then came worral and their confidence dropped and worral is full of bad passes and if we play out of defence there is no point as worral can't pass. We play flannagan on the left when he would probably be better than tav on the right. we could even shift flannagan into defensive mid to cover tav when he makes an attacking run.

@jyf - so no credit to Gerrard from you for getting us to the top of the league? But you are prepared to slate him for the last 2 results? Or getting us to the group stages as well? Short memories!

UJ, super. I've said it before, Europe is a side show the league is the main event and the one i'm focused on . To say i'm critisising gerrard on the last two results is quite frankly daft and childish uj, maybe you don't get to many games I don't know but I've seen some utter rubbish served up this season some we've won by scraping through some we've drawn and some we have lost and the big two we never even turned up for the EXACT same as the last couple of seasons. I know what i'm watching. But how can I argue with posters that think good press conferences are as good as a win and posters that think moult is the answer to our striking problems. I'll support gerrard till the end but, on here, he is not above criticism.

@jyf - of course the league is the priority. But I bet you would have been one of the first on here if we’d been put out in the early Europa qualifiers?
And if we are still in after Xmas it enhances the clubs reputation to potential signing targets.

P.S. you should revisit my post about press conferences and see my other reply. Nothing like taking it out of the correct context 👍.

Jyf I respect your view, Europe is not a side show. It's where we generate significant money to move us forward
Without the money from Europe we can't improve our lot in the league.
All I hear is buy this guy and that guy, we need money to do hat.
