Fellow bears should we consider the boy shankland from ayr no risk signing for me at £400k!

Yes hardest thing to do in football is score goals and would be a snip at 400k and a very low wage.

No he's not proven in top league how do we ever expect to challenge Celtic if fans want to sign players from Ayr United Kenny Deucher scored a barrowload for Gretna few years ago in lower divisions but he was never good enough to play at top level in Scotland Shankland is same there's a world of difference scoring goals in lower league to Premier league.

Definetly - I've mentioned him on here before - we must keep looking to the future- in my opinion the boy is a natural and could only improve when he joins The Rangers!

Some media sites now saying celtic are interested in signing lawrence shankland from ayr utd, with the view of loaning him back to ayr, in january!

Bluebear38 is spot on here. At 400k,
its a risk worth taking on ayr utd striker lawrence shankland! It could be he ends up being the next nicky clark, but what if he ends up like the next jamie vardy and we miss out on him! I get my kill at some on here saying young shankland isn't good enough for rangers, as he's playing in the division below us! How do they know for defo, that this young striker, just might be the real deal and next big thing! They don't know and nobody can predict, one way or the other, for certain! At least sign him and one way or the other, rangers can decide how good the boy is, or not for that matter!

No brainer!

Guy scores for fun! £400k is a snip, I doubt he’d command a massive salary! If it doesn’t work out then it’s no big deal.

Give the guy service and he’ll score goals. Similar to Kris Boyd.

I'd prefer a proven striker to be honest. Someone who has played at a decent standard. Shankland might work out but we've taken a chance on Pena, Herrera etc. And its cost us. Wasted millions and now we've got a big debt again.

I’m not saying sign Shankland but the argument he’s only scored in lower league is crap many a player over the years have stepped up in bigger divisions it’s the chance u take Andy Robertson’s turned in to not a bad player.

shankland is out of contract at the end of the season so he could sign a pre contract with us on january and also the boy is a big rangers fan so it shouldn't take much to sign him no brainer for me.

Would be crazy to not take this lad. He’s a bluenose and would be a dream move for him. Personally I think given some time he would continue to score for fun. He could make a similar impact as Novo did.

Why spend 400k on shankland when we have rudden, Dallas.

Cooper good point we may miss out on the next vary, so let's sign every player from the lower divisions in case.
We need to develop guys like rudden, or no point in having an academy.
