I have to say I'm shocked and a bit disappointed Docherty is not in Gerrards plans. In my opinion he's a better midfielder than McCrorie. I think the lad should be kept at the club as the manager doesn't know if Coulibaly will suit British game. I hope I'm wrong but I think it's a big mistake.

I agree 36th I believe Docherty is a better midfielder than Mccorie but SG maybe feels that he has a lot of midfielders and that Docherty I don’t think has shown his best form since coming to Rangers and playing in a struggling team. He will come good but SG might feel he needs regular game time to find form.

36thulsterdivision, is it possible that Docherty isn't fully up to the fitness level that Gerrard is asking for and he thinks 6 months regular starting would benefit him? I'm not disagreeing with you, just thinking of the reasons behind the loan.

Will smith Mng spoke about Docherty stats at training camp, said he was fittest player there. I think they just don't think he will get games, so better on loan.
