my view on new managers who have been talked about

FDB - would be risky. if the team in general had potential then this would be a good appointment but dutch managers in general are not good when heads are down. however he is a name and could bring a higher calibre of player.

Alex neil - could be good as well done well with limited resources and knowledge of scottish game

Clarke - has only done well with killie over a short time but could but has done nothing else

Pardew - for me is a waste of time wants a high wage and in all honesty is nothing

Potter and Reid - for me have worked wonders at a team over a longer period. could be a good shout.

Rannerri - for me should be stand out appointment. lots of experience all over the world and knows the British game and a big name. would it be bad to think a rannerri amaruso and ferguson to work as a 3.

Arteta - apparently allens choice. For me high risk but with working as number 2 at man city we may be able to get good loan signings and he may be able to get players playing properly. not the rubbish scottish way. but quality players needed.

my personal view is the board should do everything to get Rannerri from Nantes.

Ranneri is hopeless, better with nigel pearson it was his team that win the league anyway.

you are correct it was pearsons team but did he win it. no. same can be said at celtic. the majority of celtic team is dila team not rodgers. he added 1 or 2 players. better off spending 1.5m on a good manager than getting total rubbish.

Jamie5100 I agree on most of your OP but Clarke got WBA an 8th place finish in his only full season in the EPL beating Rodgers's Liverpool home and away in the process (more than what A Neill did with similar resources at Norwich) . Plus he won everything down there as Mourinho's no.2 at Chelsea. So it's unfair to say all he's done is a few months at Killie. Also while Ranieri is highly unlikely it's worth noting that at Leicester he took over a well drilled team that had went on an excellent unbeaten run to stay up the previous season. Most of your suggestions are high risk, and you shouldn't even have mentioned Pardew.

I’m with you BigMarv, when I look at all the runners on my betting app it is Steve Clarke who I would choose, it’s very difficult though so the board have a job on there hands firstly to find the right man and then convince him to sign. When McInnes was favourite for the job I was 100% against it and Steve Clarke represents many of the same reservations I had about DM but I think what he has shown with the squad he inherited he is a good manager and gets the best out of what he has, something that we need right now. He is only 7 points behind us just now and if he had been appointed in the summer then they may be 2nd at the moment.

Huge difference between where we are and where Acektuc were before Rodgers, your comparing Apples and Oranges. Ranneri is clueless hence why he was sacked, also strong rumours relating to the players following Shakespeare rather than Ranneri! It’s good that names are being discussed as everybody will get to read a number of views but I don’t see any benefit to Rangers appointing Ranneri.
