I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I don't fancy the signing of Docherty. I know he's young and still developing but he's no McArthur and I think we could do better.

Kind of hard to argue that McArthur is a better player, he has 32 caps for Scotland and over 230 premier league games under his belt compared with a player ten year younger with only 100 SPL games. Not sure what point your making? With regards to what player is better for Rangers in our current situation then Docherty is the better option. 1. We’ll save c. £15k per week wages (around £800k p/ a) 2. We’ve save over c. £1.5m in transfer fees (Money we appear not to have) 3. We can expect to generate c. £1m more in future transfer fees. 4. We’ll finish second regardless of which player we’ll sign. I want to win the league as much as the next guy however, if we don’t build a solid and sustainable foundation we have no chance.

Docherty is a cracking young player. Physically strong and can play football, something we’ve not seen in a while in midfield. Hyndman was good but when we got bullied in games he would go missing.

Hyndman would be a loan with option to buy
