Very sad news to hear of the passing of terry butcher's son christopher! A young life gone at the tender age of 35 years old! My heartfelt condolences go out to big terry and all his family at this very sad, solemn time for all the family! God bless!

My heart goes out to his entire family. This man served his country and I know from personal experience that more should be done in helping ex squaddies integrated into functioning members of society. I was years before settling in and mentally that is tough and there are plenty of times it doesn't feel worth it as too many do not recognise or care about your service nd that grates away at you especially getting paid off when the Irish Ganger found out I was in the black watch, I was going through counselling at the time and in the throws off ptsd, it was hard to keep my emotions in check and harder to feel like a valued member of society but in time it got better. That is why our armed forces day celebrations at ibrox are valued. I wish that the UK could adopt a similar approach as the US who spend billions on after service care to help servicemen and women cope and function to the best of their ability. Since the second world war suicide has been the biggest killer to our armed forces. More than terrorism or bullets. 35 year old is too young for anyone to die especially after everything that proud man had been through. R. I. P.

Good posts guys and sad news indeed.

Like Gary75 I believe far more should be done to help servicemen and women cope after they leave the forces. The fact that so many become homeless is a tragedy and the UK and Scottish governments should be ashamed by this but somehow ex-servicemen seem to be bottom of their priorities.

Absolutely Naz 20% of the homeless are ex services that is well over the proportion of the population that serve

Aye, we can all laugh and joke and have a bit of banter going but when something like this happens it really does put things in perspective. Heartfelt sympathies to the big guy and his family.
