I was wondering in we would be better trying Toral in the DM role, until Rossiter is fit, with Hyndman and Windass in front of him.

I know we've not seen much of him but surely better than Halliday? Thoughts?

Why are we putting an attacking player into the holding mid role?

I think he looks stronger and more composed on the ball than Halliday. Surely that makes him a better option until we have a proper DM fit?

Oneshowaround, I have been asking myself that question since Halliday was given the role!

Toral is an attacking midfielder and to be fair so is Halliday.
Why play players out of position?

We have to! The management let the only fit player who played there naturally go out on loan and never signed any replacement.

Is Halliday not more a left sided midfielder

I think we lack ANY player to play that role - even Rossiter. Its not just a case of oh he can tackle, oh he can pass - you need to be able to do a lot more and I don't see any of our squad possessing that skill set. Halliday is hampered in there due to a lack of positional sense - his passing can be wayward at times, but that's not his main downfall.
I much prefer a back 3 with wingbacks personally
It gives a better defensive strength without really hindering our attacking shape too much.

Because our management let our only fit DM leave on loan and never replaced them.

I doubt arsenal would want to see him developing into a DM.
