Here is a question for you. Say we sack Ally and appoint Davis for example and we are sitting outside of the promotion places having blown our budget what do we do? Do we sack Davis and pay his compo then appoint another manager? Or do we cross our fingers and hope we can turn things round? And what happens if we don't turn things round and we remain in the championship do we then sack the manager and appoint someone else? If Ally ain't doing it next season there will be a roar of protest against him and he will be away no question. So I say we stop moaning, support our manager, and look forward to an exciting season ahead.

Keep ally on at his present wages and the same scenario comes up it would cost more to sack ally as it would to sack him now and employ someone on a whole lot less contracts now have clauses like tim sherwood pepe mel and oscar garcia at the end of their first season there performance can be reviewed and if not up standard or unsuitable or even the manager wants out there is a set amount already agreed nothi like full contract

OP here is a question for you (2 actually)- are you a democrat and do you believe in free speech?
There are 2 possibly 3 camps it seems in my opinion on this site.
(1) people like you, r. f. AB72, gaz, geo the ger, clarkston bud, Copland1 and Johncass and others who are fully behind Ally
(2) people like SG 75 and Mols who might be slightly less enthusiastic about Ally but see other problems are of far greater importance like securing new ownership or greater stability and better governance
(3) People like me who were fans of Ally as our greatest ever goalscorer but no longer want him as our manager. Because of the poor state of our football team and because of the overall age and cost of our football team.
The three things we hopefully have in common is we all want Rangers to be successful, sustainable and to play entertaining football.
It can get heated on here at times but that is frustration at our plight and particularly the disappointment at in-spite of the money the fans put towards the club none of the three common aims have been achieved for our third group.
Our second group (2) are satisfied that at least from their point of view we are progressing towards success by getting up the divisions.
Your column (1) think group (3) are some sort of traitors and not proper fans because we do not share your enthusiasm for the manager.
However most of us in group (3) will have spent every bit as much money on season tickets and travel in this country and abroad as you have.
I would suggest you don't read my posts and I won't read your posts or at least not react negatively to your posts as we quite simply will never agree.
But hopefully we will at least respect each others right to an opinion even if we cannot understand the others opinion.
If we get a successful RANGERS who are successful, sustainable and play good football then we should all be happy.
But because of different perspectives and ambitions for the club there will still be something to argue about/discuss- its called democracy- some countries don't have it but it leads to different views.

Why are trying to sign forwards when mccoist plays long baw one up front.

4.) 13 May 2014
Ed can you tell us how many season tickets are sold

{Ed039's Note - I honestly dont know, there are various rumours going about but only the guys in the ticket office and behind the scenes will know for sure)

Grey bear we all want the best but we can't have everything we want at the one time the the shareholding situation will take time to sort I won't start blabbing on with my views are well known it will take share purchase to get us out of that one but performances on the field we maybe can influence a bit by shouting loud enough and honestly there is no betternes for ally and his methods I actually despair we have one of the best football complex in the country we have more signed players than any other club we pay the second highest wages inthe country and what do we have to show a team who now ar so stereotyped they probably cannot play any other way than lumping the ball forward we r foster in his second spell when he did not make it the first time to name but one we have nicky clark scoring goals for fun at q os on £400 /week we have him on £4000 /week and won't give him an extended run in his natural position I could go on and on but honestly I don't take berating ally lightly there is absolutely no chance on him now making a manger fit to restore us to our former glory because he suffers from tunnel vision which equates to allys vision that I s my opinion maybe not everyones but I can only speak as I see it but also everyone has the perogitive to do the same

Name-dropped by greybear. woohoo, made my night!

Honestly, good post gb, although less than enthusiastic doesn't cover over it for me. Pretty sure our youth team would have won promotion from the part time leagues we've won, probably playing better football. I've been against mccoist as manager for a while if you check my posts, but only defended him lately against some mental comments on here.

7.) 14 May 2014
Radio said 4000 had been sold.

8.) 14 May 2014
Greybear, Excellent summary of our current predicament. As you say we, Rangers supporters, can disagree on factors relating to our club, but at the end of the day we have the same goal. The Glasgow Rangers, a team to be proud of.

9.) 14 May 2014
@2 I don't know where any of that came from but yes I believe in true democracy and absolutely in free speech so here's a question for you before you stop reading my posts, if we had a democratic vote as to who should be manager and 20% voted for Ally 20% voted for Butcher 20% for mccoll and 40% for Davis who should be manager.

10.) 14 May 2014
Jyf, What Davis was it, Steve or Harry?

11.) 14 May 2014
@ 9 I think there was a poll about managers and I think Derek McInnes came out on top. That may have been because of Aberdeen's form at the time we assumed thy were going to win both cups. But if that was how a manager was selected then someone with twice as many votes should win the contest. But it doesn't work that way or Ally would be out because a Majority are against him now.

12.) 14 May 2014
@lbj d - agreed -my thoughts too
@ SG- 75 cheeky sod- and am no creating another category just for you.
@billyb- if I said Joe Davis I think from reading your posts you may- just remember him?
And on an earlier thread with twmnn and lbj-d who did "take your pick"?
Remember they had keys for boxes and some had sort of booby prizes or money/holidays etc in the boxes on the wall?

13.) 14 May 2014
Yes Greybear, I had forgotten about him and his brother Fred. Great times, watching snooker on a black and white telly. Wish I was old enough to remember. ha! ha!

17.) 15 May 2014
Tmwnn, Yes that certainly was a classic. I cannot remember the commentator but it came back to me, when reading an article about recent 'Colemanballs', the other day.
