Hard to argue with most of that, Stig.

Our player trading model is on it's arse, and with the exception of Butland, what other players do we have who command a 10m plus fee? Not one!

My sister in law has just picked up my ticket for the game to give to her hubby. Honestly, I never thought I'd be passing on a semifinal, but that's how I feel. I'm scunnered, and I just don't have any faith in these players anymore.

Stig well thought out, question though I can’t recall Celtic paying much more than 5 or 6 million on a player in recent seasons, is that spending big? Problem both us and Celtic would have is the higher calibre of player you target then the fee goes up to nearer the ten million mark and even if Celtic have that money would the player want to come up here as the likelihood is they would have offers from either England or Europe, Is that not why Celtic have been signing players from the Asian market and like us trying to target young players with potential.
They have had better returns from their players no argument there, yes we have a real job on our hands to try and unearth a few good players or find good out of contract players, if we can do that next season I don’t think we will be a close run thing.
Just my opinion.

Excellent article Stig and difficult to disagree with anything you have said.
Unfortunately I feel that the previous Chairman, CEO and DoF must carry a lot of the blame, principally because we failed to strengthen when we won 55 and personally I feel that Parks and his CEO were more interested in battles with the SFA and the SPFL than doing what was needed to improve the quality of a winning Team.
With all of the aforementioned now gone and with Bennett and Bisgrove now in control I am hopeful that we will see positive change which will see a change at Board level, new investment and a significant improvement both in quality and success on the park under Clement.
We do however need to see investment in the team in respect of quality or we will find ourselves needing to appoint yet another new manager because I don't see Clement hanging around if the Team is not fit for purpose. Protecting his own credibility will be more important than trying to ensure success with poor quality players and a lack of financial support from his Board.

Raise, I agree. It's very hard to support Rangers at the moment.

Sadly Stig I’ve been reading articles like yours for too long now, just about every season seems to end the same way with us just meekly surrendering any chance we have. We might get a wee flurry of pride tomorrow but it’s not the prize we were really after.

No doubt we will go to parkhead and get a draw and some will say we were unlucky not to win but the truth is it’s a mentality thing with us we have an inferiority complex which breaks my heart to admit. I believe we have in place a good manager hopefully he knows where the problem lies and deals with it.
